Joe Wilson's outburst to President Barack Obama during a speech to Congress last week was an act "based on racism" and rooted in fears of a black president.

"I think it's based on racism," Carter said at a town hall held at his presidential center in Atlanta. "There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president."

The Georgia Democrat said the outburst was a part of a disturbing trend directed at the president that has included demonstrators equating Obama to Nazi leaders.

"Those kind of things are not just casual outcomes of a sincere debate on whether we should have a national program on health care," he said. "It's deeper than that."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/
2009/09/15/jimmy-carter-wilsons-
outb_n_288003.htmlDeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09583438645860375661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5548695401579410439.post-29513211030307923312009-09-15T11:52:34.428-05:002009-09-15T11:52:34.428-05:00Even his wife didn't believe it was him:

Everyone knows that without an enforcement mechanism everyone will be able to participate regardless of citizenship. The defeat of the Republican amendment to solve this problem says it all as does the support of the Hispanic Caucus and la Raza. Why does Obama keep denying the obvious? It's enough to cause people to stand up and say BS, Mr. President, BS.ultimahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13624967903736347171noreply@blogger.com
