Americans who are Hispanic - Unite

Americans who are Hispanic,

I am asking you to Unite. Today on the various cable news channels, I heard the following discussion by Chris Matthews and his roundtable of pundits. Keep in mind MSNBC is more liberal then the extremists on Lou Dobbs show or on Fox. Here is what the "middle of the road" station said when discussing the Democratic Debates. Also keep in mind, the Democratic Debates are far less volatile and LESS xenophobic and racist then the Republicans. Here is what was said:

"The Republicans know they have already lost the Latino vote so they are against Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Independents just don´t care.

Nobody (meaning Anglos) don’t like the change in demographics in our society or in their neighborhoods. They don´t like looking at folks you are not used to seeing around. They don´t like ethnic change. They don´t understand neighborhoods change and you have to get used to it and deal with it.

People in the northeast don´t care about European or Canadian illegal immigrants. Canadians don’t look different so it doesn’t show and they don’t care."

Hispanic Americans, this is the kind of xenophobia and racist talk that is happening on the middle of the road cable channels. The right is starting to win the argument.

We need to get involved in this discussion. I know it is uncomfortable and we prefer to stay in the background. However, if we don´t get involved, we are going to end up in another "Operation Winback" mentality. We have to get involved. We have to vote. Start a Blog. Get connected with others.

  1. The myth of a neutral discussion has been blown away by several recent posts. This one is completely and entirely biased.

  2. Are you talking about the title and content of this topic? If so, I agree.

  3. Americans who are Hispanic should register and vote their choice. We all need to understand the issues and how they impact each of us.

Today, we are under-represented in the voting booths.

We need to register and vote. By 2008, we will have over 50M Hispanic Citizens. We will make a difference.

As the pundits on MSNBC said, the politicos are disregarding our vote. They are disregarding the impact of this racist tone to the Immigration debate by many of the ANTIs, including the SDMMs and others.

    We have to Vote!!

  4. Bob,
Anyone reading the foul language and the denigration of women on YOUR Blog would take any negative response from you as a Good Sign!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hmm, last I heard there were only about 40 million citizen Hispanics (I could be wrong though) and only citizens are allowed to vote. Lets see 40 million vs 260 million non-Hispanics. How much of an impact will that make?

I think this so-called "racist tone" on illegal immigration should be dismissed anyway when dealing with this issue, don't you? Afterall, bottom line is racism or not on the part of some, we still have immigration laws to protect U.S. citizens and are there for good reason and loyal citizens will uphold those laws, no? Unless one considers our immigration laws to be racist and therefore thinks anyone who wants to enter this country should be able to at will. Or is it only one's own ethnic kind that this applies to?

  6. The fact that Hispanic Citizens may unite and make a differnce in the Election Scares the pants off of you ANTIS, doesn´t it PAT?

    ReplyDelete
  7. You ANTIs are the big promoters of Racism. You use terms like Mexifornia and say Miami is 3rd World. Look at what Chris Matthews said. Look at Dobbs, Buchanan, the MMs.. all with indictments on ALL Hispanics by using this language. It is time we rallied and VOTED in High Numbers!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. We DO NOT want to see any more Racial Profiling or Operation Wetback all over again!! You can be sure of that!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Nope, the Hispanic vote doesn't scare me at all because they are still way the minority in this country. What is scary though is that many of these citizens have an ethnocentric agenda and that is un-American.

Still repeating the same old words, hey dee? No matter how many times they are explained to you? There will be no mass roundup of Hispanic Americans to be deported. They all have I.D. This isn't 1950. You are just using that line to demonize law abiding Americans and our government. Shame on you!

It is called criminal profiling, not racial profiling. If one fits the description of most illegals in this country they will be questioned first. All innocent people will be vindicated by the presentation of their valid I.D. Whats the big deal, dee? I am asked for my I.D. every time I fly or makes purchases with my credit card. Only those with something to hide would object to be questioned.

  10. Be careful what you wish for Pat. The Hispanic vote continues to grow. You may not care but we are growing, not going away!

Bottom line is, we don´t like the ANTI racist agenda, especially now that Hardball and the ADL have EXPOSED YOU!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. So "Hardball and ADL" views represent the entire anti movement? You know damn well the only ones they are exposing are the radicals. Most anti's are not radicals nor racists. Are you really this stupid?

Do the reconquistas also represent the entire Hispanic view? See how stupid you are sounding?

    ReplyDelete
  12. If you pile up all the racist ANTIs, the KKK, the NSMs, the Aryan Nation, the militia, etc. vs the 1 or 2 people who may mention the word Reconquista, the difference would be a million to one.

    ReplyDelete
  13. One or two people? LOL!

Doesn't matter anyway most antis do not belong to the KKK, etc. nor mirror their views. We are only for the rule of law. We are not racists. We are the majority of the anti's. 80% of Americans are anti's. At most 10% of them would be considered racists.

  14. Yeah right.
The SDMMs who terrorize migrant camps are some of the worst, most racist ANTIs I´ve seen.

  15. Jose Angel Gutierrez, 'Chicano Studies' professor and founder of 'The United Race' political party, has said:
"We have an aging white America. . . . They are dying. . . . They are ******** in their pants with fear! I love it!" "We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him." And since 1970, he has professed, "Our devil has pale skin and blue eyes."

    ReplyDelete
  16. Pat, As you are well aware, the ANTI group, the American Patrol, took this 1969 quote out of context. It is an ISOLATED possible misquote. Nothing to do with your ANTI pipedream of Reconquista. Here is what the neutral wikipedia says on the subject:

The anti-illegal immigration group American Patrol quotes him as saying, "We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him."[1]

There still remains some debate about the actual words Gutierrez used in his famous "kill the Gringo" speech of April 10 or 11, 1969 in San Antonio when he was head of the Mexican American Youth Organization (MAYO). In his speech which was mainly about Mexican American civil rights (these are U.S. citizens of Mexican ancestry) he said:

"We realize that the effects of cultural genocide takes many forms—some Mexicanos will become psychologically castrated, others will become demagogues and gringos as well and others will come together, resist and eliminate the gringo. We will be the latter.”

Questions followed the press statement, particularly from Kemper Diehl, a reporter with the San Antonio Express News. Diehl wrote an article on the press conference and printed his version of an exchange:

Q: What do you mean by ‘eliminate the gringo?’

A: “You can eliminate an individual in various ways. You can certainly kill him but that is not our intent at this moment. You can remove the base of support that he operates from be it economic, political, social. That is what we intend to do.”

Kemper Diehl wrote more: “Gutierrez was again pressed as to intentions of killing gringos ‘if worst comes to worst.’ He replied ‘If worst comes to worst and we have to resort to that means, it would be self-defense.’ ” Gutierrez went on to be quoted as detailing attempts on his life and property just a few years before in Crystal City, Texas.

In "A Challenge to Build a New Society," New York Times, April 20, 1969, Gutierrez was quoted as saying "we intend to eliminate the Gringo." Gutierrez is described as a veteran, and "scholarly" and is quoted as advocating violence only in "self-defense."

This "kill the Gringo" quote may have been mis-quoted in a San Antonio Express newspaper editorial on April 12, 1969 which described MAYO as a "handful of apparently frustrated young men" and Gutierrez as a "violent" young man.

It is worth mentioning that after his 1969 comments the San Antonio newspapers carried criticisms by Anglos and Mexican Americans alike. He was called a "boy," a "baby face" and a "young juvenile with a tamale on his shoulder" in letters running in the Dallas Morning News April 12, 1969, and San Antonio Express letters from April 12, 16, and 20, 1969.

In a Wall Street Journal article titled "The Angry Chicano" June 11, 1970 Gutierrez, then heading La Raza Unida Party in Crystal City, Texas, is quoted as saying: "It's too late for the Gringo to make amends. Violence has got to come." The article detailed the extreme poverty, poor working conditions, and frustration felt by young Mexican American citizens at the start of the 1970s as they sought to build their own civil rights movement as citizens in the United States.

  17. The professor should have been jailed for hate speech with his remarks. He is trying to back peddle now.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Actually Anon, The ANTI Hate Group American Patrol should be ashamed of themselves for stirring up so much hate and animosity and misrepresenting and twisting a statement from 1969.

Reconquista, Sheconquista, BOGUS Hate Drivel by the hateful Patrol group!

  19. Where are all you hispanic American citizens that Dee is calling to unite with her? Not one of you have posted here. Very telling. Maybe you don't agree with her views and feel like a more loyal American than she does. My American friends of hispanic descent frown upon "La Raza". They don't think an illegal invasion from any country is a good idea. I tend to agree.

  20. Dear Brave Anonymous Poster, I get many emails. Many people, like you, do not choose to leave their names publicly on the internet.

It is very interesting and very telling how you choose to chastise me ANONYMOUSLY! Very telling indeed.

BTW, no one except ANTIs calls the Humanitarian group NCLR "la raza." That would be like calling the Humanitarian group NAACP "colored people." I am sure you do it, but Anonymously.

  21. Dee,
I thought I would respond because of what your anonymous poster wrote. As we have talked about, you do have many viewers and many of us appreciate what you do. My instructor shares many of your blogs with us and you are a favorite on technorati. You are encouraging many of us to continue with our own blogs and use our 1st Ammendment power.

I know some of people will try to tear down what I say but here is my professors website to prove all I am saying.

Thank you Dee and keep up the good work.

and dee why do care if my name is anon, dee, linda or whatever? This
    is the internet.
and La Rasa is not an organization that supports illegal aliens? did I miss something?

  23. Actually, I emailed her after your last comment and she volunteered to post something. Did you look at her link? I told her many of you don´t bother looking at the references and are firm in your own opinions. I have many, many viewers that email me directly. I encourage it.

Most people don´t like the attacks, Anon.

The attacks don´t bother me, dear Anon. They make me stronger, stronger in my conviction to communicate there are alternative solutions for Americans, especially American Hispanics. Each of us can make a Difference! WE can stand tall, be proud and make needed changes!! Most of all, we should ALL study the issues and VOTE!!!

  25. Anon, You also missed my post that said only ANTIs call the Humanitarian organization NCLR by the term laraza. That would be comparable to someone calling the Humanitarian organization NAACP by the term colored people.

Obviously you have your own agenda. We know what it is.

    Nation Council of Hispanics?
Why National Council of The Race?
If any other nationality did that there would be such an uproar. "The
    Race" -think about it.

  30. Anon, Did you NOT read my previous post? I´ve said this at least twice: Anon, You also missed my post that said only ANTIs call the Humanitarian organization NCLR by the term laraza. That would be comparable to someone calling the Humanitarian organization NAACP by the term colored people.

The NCLR is a HUMANITARIAN Organization. About NCLR:
The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) – the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States – works to improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans. (CITIZENS)

  32. Anon,
All I am saying is, with Anon posters, it is difficult to differentiate. So call yourself something. Make up a fake name. A glorious name. That way I know who you are.
