The family of Marcelo Lucero said Wednesday they have been granted visas to travel from their native Ecuador to Long Island to attend the trials of seven teenagers accused in the killing of the Ecuadorean immigrant in what Suffolk police called a hate crime. Isabel Lucero, Marcelo's sister, said in a telephone interview from Gualaceo, Ecuador, that she and her mother, Rosario, received the one-year visas on Tuesday from the U.S. Consulate in the capital of Quito.
They plan to travel in mid-February so they can attend a court date scheduled for Feb. 18. If they make it, they will be reunited with Marcelo's brother Joselo, whom they have not seen in 14 years, since he left his hometown for the United States."We are happy that we will be able to see the place where my brother lived," Isabel said.
Dear Dee :
ReplyDeleteYou are very nice to the tragedies of these hard working and honest people.
Of course we have to love them and make company to them in their sad Journey to New York. I have been reporting in our three most recent victims :
Luis Ramirez, July 2008, Shenandoah Pennsylvania
Marcelo Lucero, November 2008
Jose Osvaldo Sucuzhanay, December 2008
There is another victim in Hemet, Southern California. This man is brain dead after being beaten with baseball bats by a gang of coward racists.
All the attacks show the same Terrorism and Cowardice.
Terrorists have been wrongly identified with the Arabs, Muslims or the Middle East. As the Lady that went to John McCain to complain about Obama being an Arab.
I have a big roster of Latino, Black and other victims of Racial Terrorism and Cowardice of Gangs attacking with baseball bats, stabbings and even Telescopic Rifles to kill a young Black Girl.
Here is my information :
