Sean Hannity is a Big Fat Liar Desperate for Ratings!

Sean Hannity is a Big Fat Liar, desperate for ratings. Pompous, cocky, sweaty and drooling, every night on Fox cable news. He spits and yells, like the stereotypical carnival carny. He spews Lies, Racism and Hate to incite his frothing audience to a frenzy. The truth does not matter to him. All he cares about is building his audience's hate and anger to a raging crescendo and build his ego and his ratings along the way.
His most recent LIES include:
1. ANTI Latino rhetoric:
a. Hannity LIED saying the NCLR "called for Mexico to annex southwestern states"
b. Hannity LIED & said “There are reports that Al Qaeda and Iranian-linked individuals have been blending in with illegal Mexican immigrants and sneaking across our southern border.”
2. Gay Bashing:
a. Hannity LIED & Ranted saying the Academy Award for the movie "Milk" was "more sex, more and more violence, you know, more and more controversy?"
3. ANTI Economic Solution rhetoric:
a. Hannity LIED saying the economic stimulus package contained "a magnetic levitation line from Las Vegas to Disneyland."
4. ANTI Obama rhetoric:
a. Hannity raved and ranted and compared President Barack Obama to Kim Jong Il of North Korea and Che Guevara, complained that a Barnes & Noble with a video display of Obama in its window was like something you'd see in Cuba or North Korea.

The most dangerous part about the Liar Hannity is his impact on his audiences. Inciting such anger and hate creates the environment for the violent members of his audience to act out their rage and anger.
Was Dannie Roy Baker a fan? The Caucasian Crew? Based on their mutual agendas, it is quite likely!
Hannity is not PRO American! He is ANTI American!
It is clear, Hannity does not support Emma Lazarus' words: "Give me your tired, your poor,Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Instead he seeks to rile up Americans to become agitators, against our President, against our people, against the American Way!
We need to rally against Hannity and ALL those that preach HATE and Murder! Those days are GONE with the Bush Days! Instead, we should focus on UNIFYING America and UNIFYING ALL of us who seek Peace, Honesty and Humanity!
God Bless America! and God Bless Our President!

Hate Crime: Christian Conservative Republican Activist Arrested for Murdering Two Legal Latino Students! Proclaims Upcoming "Revolution!"

In one of the most heinous HATE Crimes against Latinos in U.S. history, two young Latino students were brutally murdered yesterday by Republican activist and Christian Conservative Minister Donnie Ray Baker (60). When Deputies arrived at the murder-site, they found innocent, legal (from Chile), Latino students: Nicolas Pablo Corp-Torres (23) and Racine Balbontin-Aragondona (22), deceased at the scene. Deputies also discovered three victims that had been wounded. Fransisco Javier Cofre-Fernande (25) was air lifted by life flight to Sacred Heart and is in critical condition. Sebastian Mauricio Arizaga-Suarez (27) was also air lifted to Sacred Heart and is listed in stable condition at this time. The third victim, David Alonzo Bilbao-Meza (21) was taken to a local hospital and is listed in good condition. It is heartbreaking to learn that these innocent children, at the beginning of their lives, were so brutally murdered by someone who proclaimed he was a Christian minister.
The murder rampage began a little before 2:00 am Thursday morning at the units of the Summer Lake Townhomes in Miramar Beach, Florida. Investigators said Baker left his townhouse, armed with a rifle, walked across the complex to the victims' unit's window, peaked inside, and opened fire.
After the shooting, witnesses saw Baker carrying a rifle though the pool area across the street to his home on the other side of the complex. Authorities say he locked himself inside and waited. When authorities arrived, they used a loudspeaker to talk with Baker, said Michele Nicholson with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. Baker surrendered without further incident shortly after 6 a.m. His tennis shoes were discarded near the door of his home at Unit 25, where he was arrested.
Afterwards, neighbor Crystal Lynn said, "he did come up to me one time and asked me if I was ready for the revolution to begin and if I had any immigrants in my house to get them out."
While many Republicans are already attempting to distance themselves from Baker proclaiming him a lone nutcase, on the Landover Baptist website, which some identify as a spoof Christian site, and others post legitimately as Christians, one poster, Jeb Thurmond, proclaimed: "Walton County Republican Headquarters volunteer Dannie R Baker is being persecuted for pre-emptively defending America against potential illegal immigrants."
Some Republican, Christian Conservative and ANTI Immigration Reform websites are predicting an on-coming Revolution against the Obama Administration and their supporters.
Baker was a pitiful man, looking for love. On one "looking for love" website, this 60 year old man advertised for a woman between 18 - 29. He said, "I'm looking for a woman to be my bride and to have my children and to enjoy my lifestyle on the beach in Florida, USA!!! I want a Christian who wants to be a ministers wife." It is a good thing no one answered.
Let's hope Baker is charged, to the fullest extent of the law, for the HATE Crimes he so callously committed.
BREAKING NEWS: Baker had his first appearance before a judge Friday morning (today). He was denied bond on two open counts of murder and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A bond of $50,000 was set on a charge of shooting a missile into an occupied dwelling, although Baker was to stay in jail.
Update: Bilbao told his brother that the youths, who were in Florida as part of an educational exchange program, were sitting around a kitchen table talking and cooking when they were surprised by a blast and the sound of breaking glass. “My brother thought something had exploded in the oven, and never imagined it was a gunshot until about the third shot when he was hit in the arm,” Mario Bilbao told a Chilean radio station. “My brother threw himself on the floor and later tried to help one of his friends, but regrettably, he told me, it was too late. It’s going to be very difficult for him to get over this,” he said.
Update 2: The sheriff's office doesn't have a motive, but they did confirm that citizens had filed reports with them in August 2008 claiming Baker had circulated e-mails that threatened national political candidates.

Unbelievable News: Canadian Officials Upset! Don't Want Border Patrol to Treat Them Like Mexico!

The Canadians are upset that Janet Napolitano requested a review of US-Canada border security. Even though terrorists and the anthrax traveler came into America via lax and/or unguarded Canadian ports of entry, Canada is saying they do not want to be treated like Mexico.
the Canadian website Nationalpost.com reports:
Napolitano calms fears on Canada-U.S. border review
OTTAWA -- U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano sought to assure Canadians on Friday that a recent review of U.S-Canada border security was simply a fact-finding exercise, not necessarily a prelude to tougher border measures. In an unusual step, Ms. Napolitano held a teleconference with Canadian reporters, and expressed concern some of the media coverage north of the border had "misconstrued" the purpose of the review.
"While I'm very familiar with the border with Mexico, given that I was the governor of Arizona, I have very little actual experience with the Canadian border, and I wanted to get a sense on where we stood up there."
Ms. Napolitano declined to give an assessment of security at the border, other than to say it is a "big border" with some "sparsely populated" areas.
She said she'd like to visit the border first before jumping to any conclusions. Some experts on the Canada-U.S. border security have recently expressed concern that the review could lead to a "thickening" of the border.

Arrest Made in Jose Sucuzhañay Hate Crime

Guest Voz: Maegan, La Mamita Mala (from Vivir Latino).
Mamita is not only the managing editor of Vivir Latino, she is also the owner of one of my favorite blogs: La Mamita Mala: One Bad Mami. I have both links on my favorite blogs list.
Last night I was watching the local news and saw that an arrest was made in the racist and homophobic murder of Jose Sucuzhañay.
Hakim Scott, 25, was arrested yesterday in connection with the beating death. Police are looking for another suspect, identified as Keith Phoenix, 28, of the Bronx. Both are African-American.
The reasons why I mention the race of the suspects are many. Certainly the race of the suspects will Be held up as proof that it’s not white racism that is to blame for the 40% rise in hate crimes against Latinos. I have no doubt that it will be said that it’s all the people of color killing each other. As if anti-immigrant hate organizations spending money on divide and conquer ads that point the finger at Latino immigrants for unemployment bear no responsibility? As if ICE who just conducted another raid, bears no blame?
I am also concerned with the arrest of one of two suspects being used as an excuse for the NYPD to lay their heavy hands inside of communities who are already constantly harassed. I want to be clear, D.A. Hynes, who failed to prosecute killer cops who shot young Latino men in the back like
Anibal Carrasquillo and Frankie Arzuaga, is not going to be the man to bring real justice to Latino communities and these arrests do not equal license to abuse other people of color.
What should justice look like? Something more than arrest and jail time.
Add to this to how now the Brooklyn District Attorney is defending the manhood of the victim by pointing out that Jose was walking close to his brother to keep warm, not because he was gay. Pero what if Jose had been gay? Would it have been ok then?

Late Breaking News: CHC Elated After Meeting with Napolitano! Republicans Furious & OUT themselves as ANTIs!

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus met with Janet Napolitano today and were elated by her feedback. Republicans were Furious, outing themselves as ANTIs even though they know their response will LOSE more Latino Votes!
thehill.com reports:
Hispanic lawmakers hopeful on immigration
Hispanic lawmakers are more hopeful than ever that Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will end workplace raids by immigration enforcement officials. Several lawmakers emerged elated from a closed-door meeting Thursday with Napolitano, held one day after she promised to investigate a raid of an engine shop in Bellingham, Wash. Earlier this week. During the meeting with the lawmakers, Napolitano said she had “grave concerns” about the raid, in which 25 people were detained for deportation hearings.
According to CHC members, Napolitano herself brought up the Bellingham raid by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, preempting questions from lawmakers who have long sought to end the policy of raiding workplaces to target workers.“The meeting was very, very constructive. We’re happy,” said CHC Immigration Task Force Chairman Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.).“We shared with her our concerns about the raid. She shared with us that she had grave concerns about the manner in which it was carried out and that it’s under evaluation.”“I think the most important words were that she had ‘grave concerns,’” Gutierrez said.
Napolitano told the House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday that she would look into the raid. “I want to get to the bottom of this as well,” she told the panel. Napolitano also reiterated the administration’s commitment to focus on the employer side – rather than the employee side — of workplace enforcement. The Tuesday raid is the first conducted by federal authorities since President Obama took office. Although the raids had become a staple of the Bush administration’s approach to immigration enforcement, Napolitano told lawmakers on Wednesday that she was unaware of the raid until it was over.
In Tuesday’s raid, 25 men and three women were suspected of being undocumented aliens working in the United States illegally. All but three – who were released for humanitarian reasons – were detained for immediate deportation proceedings. After having to temporarily give up on a comprehensive immigration reform bill, the CHC and its allies have pivoted to pushing for a scaling-back of the tough enforcement provisions enacted under President Bush’s watch. Some Republicans were as furious as the CHC was pleased with Napolitano’s remarks at the hearing. “Let me see if I have this straight,” House Judiciary Committee Ranking Republican Lamar Smith (Texas), one of the strongest defenders of the Bush policy, said in a statement. “ICE agents arrest a criminal illegal immigrant gang member, discover he had worked illegally with other illegal immigrants at a manufacturing plant, begin an investigation of the employer and arrest the illegal immigrants to get more facts … and the secretary orders an investigation of ICE? “This sounds like good police work, not something to investigate,” Smith continued. “Secretary Napolitano’s decision is beyond backwards.”
Hispanic Democrats had been growing frustrated with what they saw as a lack of commitment from the Obama administration to even consider rolling back the raids policies. Hispanic voters were critical to Obama’s election victory in November. Exit polls showed Obama won the constituency with more than a 2-to-1 margin. He also won several states with large Hispanic populations that were carried by President Bush in 2004, including Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico.
Gutierrez, Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) and others described Napolitano as giving a firm commitment to thoroughly review a Bush administration policy that has resulted in dozens of workplace raids and the deportation of hundreds of immigrants. The CHC has complained that the raids break up families and communities while doing little to punish the employers who hire undocumented workers.

Northern Washington Residents Object to Border Agents on Canadian Border: "Don't Try to Scare Us!"

Port Townsend, Washington:
Recently, the Border Patrol set up five checkpoints on the North Olympic Peninsula, including one on state Highway 104 in Jefferson County near Hood Canal Bride and another on U.S. Highway 101 and Discovery Bay.
Since the checkpoints were established, 15 immigration-related arrests were made, 10 of which were turned over to other agencies due to suspected criminal backgrounds.
Now, Port Townsend residents are objecting to the increased number of Border Patrol Agents in their area. About 50 local residents attended a forum hosted by the Jefferson County Democrats and attended by Border Patrol agents Cmdr. Todd McCool, Deputy Cmdr. Jason Carroll, and Chris Dyer, public affairs officer.
One Port Townsend resident, Dave Woodruff, directed his sentiments to the Border Patrol: "If you are here to protect us from foreign terrorists, that's one thing, but if you are just trying to perpetuate your agency that's another," Woodruff said. "Don't try to scare us and tell us about the bogeymen . . . tell us how you are here and how you are interdicting terrorists."
Libby Palmer talked of living in the "Red scare" in the 1950s and 1960s. "Many of us remember that era, when everybody was a communist living under everything around us. That fear was spread in order to perpetuate aspects of the policy at the time and it was intense."
Deputy Cmdr. Carroll said he would prefer that agents worked off the Peninsula's mainland, in the surrounding waterways, even on the other side of the border, so as not to upset residents.
Two audience members objected to the agents showing up carrying sidearms, but Officer Dyer explained it was just a part of the uniform, like a shirt. He added that they were no different than police officers showing up at a function carrying weapons."This is our uniform," he said.
Chimacum resident John Cantlon asked why the Border Patrol appeared to be applying the southern border strategy to the northern border, by adding agents."I don't have a problem with the Border Patrol," Cantlon said. "But to take the southern strategy at the southern border and move it up here is completely mind boggling."
Carroll said the extent of the Border Patrol's staffing now amounts to 19 agents on actual patrol "working the border."The number of agents for the entire Peninsula's shoreline border was "a drop in the bucket, but that helps with the deterring effect," he said with a smile."We analyze our strategy," Carroll said. "The threat up here is terrorists. Canada is an easy country to get asylum."

Eric Holder Has it Right! Focus on Drug Cartels and Felonious Criminals!

Eric Holder has it right. ICE should focus their energies on Drug Cartels and felonious criminals! All sides agree!
CNN Reports:
Arrests 'crushing blow' to Mexican drug cartel, U.S. officials say
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.S. investigators have wrapped up a major 21-month drug-enforcement operation aimed at crippling a powerful and violent Mexican cartel operating in the United States, Attorney General Eric Holder announced Wednesday. "Enormous amounts of narcotics" have been confiscated in the operation, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said.
Investigators made 52 arrests in overnight raids in California, Minnesota and Maryland, increasing to more than 750 the number of suspects detained in the coast-to-coast operation to disrupt the Sinaloa cartel, Holder said. Drug Enforcement Administration agents said $59 million has been seized in what was dubbed Operation Xcellerator. Holder heralded the operation and vowed to vigorously help the Mexican government battle the powerful cartels. "International drug trafficking organizations pose a sustained, serious threat to the safety and security of our communities," Holder told reporters.
DEA acting Administrator Michele Leonhart, who joined Holder at the Justice Department for the announcement, said the operation dealt "a crushing blow" to the Sinaloa cartel. "We successfully concluded the largest and hardest-hitting operation to ever target the very violent and dangerously powerful Sinaloa drug cartel," she said. Large amounts of illicit drugs, including 12,000 kilograms of cocaine, 1,200 pounds of methamphetamine and 1.3 million ecstasy pills, were confiscated in the United States during the operation, Holder said. "These are enormous amounts of narcotics -- drugs otherwise destined for the streets of the United States," Holder said.
In two years, cocaine prices more than doubled, while purity dropped by a third, indicating enforcement efforts are having an impact, Leonhart said. "The result of law enforcement pressure is less cocaine on the streets of the United States. That's why the price has been affected. That's why the purity has been affected," she said.
Holder praised Mexican President Felipe Calderon as "courageous" for his willingness to fight the drug cartels, and noted the estimated 5,000 deaths that resulted from drug battles in that country last year.
DEA agents said fierce fighting between the two most powerful Mexican cartels -- the Sinaloa cartel, known as "the Federation," and the Gulf Cartel -- was largely about control of transportation routes for illegal drug trafficking.
Wednesday's announcement comes as increased violence along the Mexican border is prompting concern among state and federal officials in the United States.
In Texas, Gov. Rick Perry called on the Department of Homeland Security to send "1,000 more troops" to the border in his state. "I don't care whether they are military troops, or National Guard troops or whether they are customs agents," he said.
Meanwhile in Washington, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee urged Democrats to call a hearing on border violence to highlight the threat. "The recent surge in drug-related violence on the Southwest border has turned some American communities and neighborhoods into the "Wild West," said Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas.

BREAKING NEWS: Napolitano Said She Didn't Know About The Raid & Orders Investigation!

Late Breaking News: During Congressional Testimony today, Janet Napolitano was asked by Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) about the ICE raid in Washington. Napolitano said she had not heard about the raid in advance and was surprised to find out about it this morning. She asked ICE to send her details about it today so she could review why it was carried out. In her testimony, she said enforcement should target employers and felonious criminals versus targetting workers.
The Associated Press reports:
Napolitano orders review of raid at Wash. plant
By MANUEL VALDES – 1 hour ago
SEATTLE (AP) — Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has ordered a review of a raid at a Washington manufacturing plant that ended with the arrests of 28 illegal immigrants. Homeland Security spokesman Sean Smith says Napolitano wants to know why Tuesday's raid occurred and what led up to it.
President Barack Obama, who appointed Napolitano, has signaled for a shift in immigration policy that would rely less on work site enforcement, focusing instead on employers who hire illegal immigrants and overall immigration reform.
Smith says the raid at the Yamato Engine Specialists in Bellingham was the first work site action that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has taken since Obama took office.
ICE spokeswoman Lorie Dankers in Seattle declined comment.

NCLR's Statement re: Bellingham ICE Raid: On Immigration, We Need CHANGE We Can Believe In!

The NCLR has issued the following statement regarding the Bellingham ICE raid:

ON IMMIGRATION, WE NEED CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN
Washington, DC—On Tuesday, February 24, 2009, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided a workplace in Bellingham, Washington, reportedly arresting 28 people. This is the first major workplace raid since President Obama took office. The following is a statement by Janet Murguía, President and CEO of the National Council of La Raza, the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States.
“We are better than this, and our nation deserves better than the continuation of a failed immigration policy that contradicts American values and civil liberties. Our community understands the federal government's pursuit of hardened, dangerous criminals and our country’s need to protect its borders. But the systematic demonization, detention, and deportation of peaceful immigrant workers and parents under the pretense of homeland security is an assault on our values as a country. At a time when messages of change and hope abound, we are left to wonder how change will come to these failed policies.
“We are a nation of immigrants, and we are indeed a nation of laws, yet when our government engages in practices that violate the very laws we hold dear, it is a clear indication that we must evaluate the course. The zeal with which federal and local law enforcement agencies have applied these policies has violated the rights and civil liberties of many in various communities, including legal residents and U.S. citizens. Latinos specifically have been racially profiled, arrested without warrant, detained without counsel, and in some cases even deported out of the country although legally present. Such policy is an abrogation of civil rights, common decency, and human dignity.
“Escalating immigration raids and local police crackdowns over the past eight years have spread indiscriminate terror among millions of people who pose no threat to the United States and who have lived peacefully and productively within our borders for years. Most have worked hard, paid taxes, lived productive lives, and been good neighbors. Many have children and spouses who are U.S. citizens. Many have served in our nation's defense. Yet over the past eight years, U.S. policies have sought to criminalize this population, raid their homes and workplaces, suspend their civil liberties, put them in chains, and ultimately deport them. In the process, families are torn apart and children are separated from their parents, despite the fact that under U.S. law, immigration violations are a civil offense.
“Billions of dollars have been allocated over the last decade to such ill-conceived tactics, yet the undocumented population has continued to grow. While some may claim that these techniques have staunched unauthorized migration, the reality is that the most powerful factor in that equation has been a slowing economy. Restoring the rule of law to our immigration system requires systematic change and smart enforcement strategies that do not blur the line between innocent workers and those who mean us harm. An urgent response is needed, and it should include a thorough examination of Department of Homeland Security practices and policies to provide a cost-benefit analysis in terms of the effectiveness, security, resource efficiency, and ethics of these operations. We also need clarification from the administration as to its plan to reform our immigration system in a manner that protects families, workers, and our nation’s ideals.
“Let us not forget that how we resolve the status of the undocumented will say much about who we are as a country. We would do better to listen to the better angels of our nature.”

BREAKING NEWS! ALARMING!! ICE RAID SENDS WORKERS TO GEO DETENTION CENTER NOTORIOUS FOR ABUSES!!

ALARMING BREAKING NEWS:
JANET NAPOLITANO HAS A LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO!!!
Congressional Hispanic Caucus -- PLEASE ASK HER THESE QUESTIONS:
1. Why are the ICE Raids continuing?
2. What Happened to your drive to arrest Felonious Criminals vs Workers?
3. Why are workers being sent to deplorable Detention Centers with history of Abuses?
4. What happened to your plan to have the Detention Centers investigated?
CHC: THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW!!
Immigration officers today raided an engine remanufacturing plant in Bellingham, arrested 28 illegal immigrant workers and began processing them for deportation. The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials at Yamato Engine Specialists in Bellingham. ICE officials say the 25 men and three women — most of them from Mexico — may have gained employment at Yamato using phony social security numbers and other counterfeit identity documents.
Yamato officials, who said they had been cooperating with ICE since last fall when investigators began looking at employment documents, were shocked by today's raid.
In fact, three of the workers arrested today had been cleared as having legitimate documents during an employment records audit by ICE in 2005, said Yamato spokeswoman Shirin Dhanani Makalai.
We have been audited before so we do due diligence to get the proper paperwork," Makalai said. "People bring you paperwork that by law you are required to accept. You can't always tell if it's not correct."
With about 100 workers, Yamato specializes in rebuilding Japanese car engines and transmissions.
ICE investigators began looking into its employment records following the arrest of a criminal illegal immigrant who had previously worked there.
After being processed earlier today, officials released three of the immigrants on humanitarian grounds. The others are being held at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma.
"The lure of jobs in the United States continues to be one of the primary factors fueling illegal immigration," said Leigh Winchell, special agent in charge of the ICE Office of Investigations in Seattle. "ICE remains committed to investigating cases where the evidence shows employment laws are being violated."
1. Food illnesses at GEO detention facility.
Hundreds of detainees fell sick from apparent food poisoning at the Northwest Detention Center near Tacoma, Washington. Northwest is a 1,000 bed immigrant detention center owned by GEO, a private corporation that holds contracts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for facilities across the country.
2. Public document showdown averted
Posted by Scott Fontaine @ 03:18:06 pm
A court battle over open records and the company that operates the Northwest Detention Center has been avoided. The GEO Group, which has operated the 1,030-bed Northwest Detention Center since 2004, filed a petition in Pierce County Superior Court last week to block the release of several documents requested through public-disclosure laws.
The quarantine of more than 900 of the 1,000 immigrants held at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma ends Wednesday, six days after a detainee fell ill with chickenpox and federal officials locked down the facility. Court cases for immune detainees resumed Tuesday, and deportations start again as early as Wednesday, said Lorie Dankers, a spokeswoman with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
4. Report: Conditions at the NW Detention Center are inhumane and violate international law and the U.S. Constitution A Report on Human Rights Violations at the Northwest Detention Center (NWDC) confirm human rights abuses are taking place at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility on the tide flats of Tacoma.
The GEO Group is an international corporation that operates prisons around the country and is frequently in the news for its abuse of prisoners in its care resulting in many preventable deaths.

Janet Napolitano and Congressional Hispanic Caucus to discuss Immigration Reform on Thursday

Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) are meeting with Janet Napolitano tomorrow (2/26/09) to discuss Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR). They are bringing reports and statistics of past Immigration abuses and are asking Napolitano to provide her planned Immigration agenda.
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) recently completed a Nation-wide Unity Tour listening to testimony from families impacted by our nation’s broken immigration system.
the hill.com reports:
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will have her first private meeting with members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) on Thursday, a number of sources have confirmed. The meeting will be in the Capitol, and will be Napolitano’s second straight day on Capitol Hill. On Wednesday, the secretary testified before the House Homeland Security Committee for the first time as the head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Immigration reform (CIR) is the top priority for the CHC, and members of the Hispanic Caucus have a number of questions about the former Arizona governor’s commitment to enacting quick changes to strict immigration enforcement policies put in place under the Bush administration, which the CHC has told President Obama they want reformed. Senior leaders in the CHC were said to be particularly curious about a number of review and assessment directives that Napolitano has called for already. In testimony that she submitted to the Homeland Security Committee in advance of her Wednesday appearance, Napolitano said she has already requested “directives to assess the status of the Department’s worksite enforcement programs, fugitive alien operations, immigration detention facilities, removal programs and the 287(g) program.
Since the Bush administration undertook a much tougher immigration enforcement strategy — culminating in a number of high-profile workplace raids that netted hundreds of undocumented workers, many of whom were deported almost immediately — the CHC has pushed back with a multifaceted attempt to curtail the raids, and is currently on a nationwide tour designed to highlight the impact such raids are having on Latino families and communities. Sources said members of the CHC are looking for specific answers from Napolitano about whether she plans to roll back such Bush initiatives or is leaning toward keeping them in place. Hispanic members of Congress also want to talk to Napolitano about Obama’s choice of her deputy secretary to lead the Immigration and Customs Enforcement arm of DHS, John Morton. Morton, according to a DHS press release, has “lengthy experience in immigration enforcement and criminal prosecution … [Morton has been] responsible for the prosecution of criminal cases and the development of DOJ [Department of Justice] policy in the areas of immigration crime.”
The CHC has taken issue with what it perceives as the over-criminalization of illegal immigration. Along these lines, they plan to question Napolitano about a February report from the Migration Policy Institute, which found that the DHS's “federal fugitive operations program, established to locate, apprehend and remove fugitive aliens who pose a threat to the community, has instead focused chiefly on arresting unauthorized immigrants without criminal convictions.”

Mayor of Alamitos, CA sends Racist Email about our President in the White House

Unbelievable! As our President strives for unity and non-partisanship to bring our nation together through this period of Global Economic strife, the Mayor of Alamitos, CA sends a racist email ridiculing our President with a vile, racial stereotype. Then, when asked to respond, he doesn't realize the error of his ways! Unbelievable!!
OC Register reports:
LOS ALAMITOS - The mayor has sent an apology for an e-mail sent to a local businesswoman and community volunteer that she says is racist and offensive.
Keyanus Price, an African American, said she was appalled when she received an e-mail from Mayor Dean Grose's personal account that showed a picture of the White House with a watermelon patch imposed as the White House garden. "I was horrified when I read that e-mail," Price said. "What I'm concerned about is how can this person send an e-mail out like this and think it is OK?" Being a public official, Price said, made the matter worse. "He's putting the city into a bad place, and he is a liability," Price wrote in an e-mail.
Grose sent an e-mail apology to Price, her boss and the City Council saying he did not intend to be offensive. He also called and left Price a message, he said. "It was just poor judgment on my part, and I am deeply sorry," he said. "It wasn't meant to hurt her."
The council received the e-mail from Price's boss and also received a copy of the apology. Councilman Ken Stephens said he didn't receive the original e-mail. "Being totally out of the loop on this one, I think I would be speaking out of turn if I said anything about it," he said. "I would think that anything like that at all would be inappropriate but, again, I haven't seen the e-mail." Calls to the other three Los Alamitos council members were not returned.
Price said she wanted a public apology for the e-mail and today contacted The Orange County Register to share the brief exchange that took place on Sunday.
Grose's e-mail included the picture with a heading that read, "No Easter Egg hunt this year."
"I think he's saying that since there's a black president, there will be no need to hunt for eggs since they're growing watermelons in the front yard this year," Price wrote. She responded to the e-mail with: "Hey, that's not nice at all. Not all black people like watermelon… you should know better than that."
Grose replied: "The way things are today, you gotta laugh every now and then. I wanna see the coloring contests." Price said Grose's response upset her more.
"As soon as I saw his response; that put me over the top because it was no big deal to him," she said.
Price and Grose have worked together in the past – they both sit on the board of the Youth Center, and she often works with city officials in the community representing her employer. The two have exchanged e-mails in the past. In his apology to Price via e-mail, Grose wrote that he was not representing himself as a public official. "It was not sent to a whole bunch of people, and it went through my personal e-mail," he said. "People e-mail things all the time, but that's not an excuse."

Obama Speaks before Joint Session of Congress: Glimmer of Hope Amid Economic Crisis

"WE WILL RECOVER!"
"The time to take charge of our future is here"
Stimulus Plan:
Priorities: 3.5 Million New Jobs; Reduce Foreclosures
Focus on:
1. Energy: Clean, Renewable Energy
2. Healthcare: Cant afford to put it on hold. Time is now!
3. Education: Expand and Improve Early Education. College Affordable.
The Washington Post Reports:
President Obama plans to sound a note of hope at a time of crisis tonight, delivering to a joint session of Congress an address heavily focused on the ailing economy and how to fix it. Five weeks into a presidency already marked by dramatic highs and lows, Obama will tell the lawmakers and luminaries assembled in the House chamber that he sees light at the end of the tunnel, despite rising unemployment, a cratering stock market, teetering banks and an auto industry gasping for breath.
"But while our economy may be weakened and our confidence shaken; though we are living through difficult and uncertain times, tonight I want every American to know this: We will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before," Obama will say, according to a preliminary excerpt released by the White House.
Obama will lay out his economic recovery plans and discuss the challenges of trying to pull the nation out of its worst recession in decades while setting a course of greater fiscal discipline, according to the White House. Obama is expected to flesh out the details of an economic strategy that some critics - and the markets - have tarred as too short on specifics to inspire confidence. A week after the president signed a $787 billion economic stimulus package, his administration is moving on separate fronts to shore up the housing market by stemming foreclosures and bolster the banking industry, possibly by purchasing shares of Citigroup and Bank of America.
After days of mostly negative news, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke offered a glimmer of optimism today by testifying that 2010 could be a "year of recovery." "The weight of this crisis will not determine the destiny of this nation. The answers to our problems don't lie beyond our reach," Obama will say, according to the excerpts.
"They exist in our laboratories and universities; in our fields and our factories; in the imaginations of our entrepreneurs and the pride of the hardest-working people on Earth. Those qualities that have made America the greatest force of progress and prosperity in human history we still possess in ample measure. What is required now is for this country to pull together, confront boldly the challenges we face, and take responsibility for our future once more."
But Obama will also distribute some blame for the economic crisis.
"We have lived through an era where too often, short-term gains were prized over long-term prosperity; where we failed to look beyond the next payment, the next quarter, or the next election," he will say. "A surplus became an excuse to transfer wealth to the wealthy instead of an opportunity to invest in our future. Regulations were gutted for the sake of a quick profit at the expense of a healthy market. People bought homes they knew they couldn't afford from banks and lenders who pushed those bad loans anyway. And all the while, critical debates and difficult decisions were put off for some other time on some other day."
Obama will reiterate his desire to cut the federal budget deficit in half by the end of his first term in office, saying his team has "begun to go line by line through the federal budget in order to eliminate wasteful and ineffective programs. ...
"In this budget, we will end education programs that don't work and end direct payments to large agribusinesses that don't need them. We'll eliminate the no-bid contracts that have wasted billions in Iraq, and reform our defense budget so that we're not paying for Cold War-era weapons systems we don't use."

Breaking News: Senate confirms Solis as labor secretary

The Associated Press Reports: WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate has confirmed California congresswoman Hilda Solis as President Barack Obama's labor secretary. Solis' confirmation gives the agency a decidedly pro-worker tilt after eight years of business-friendly leadership under the Bush administration.

Yes We Can Live in Peace and Harmony in a Multi-Ethnic, Multi-Racial, Multi-Cultural Society! God Bless America!

Time for a Good News Story:
For Japanese and Koreans immigrating to America, containing cultural conflicts has been difficult. Their motherlands are burdened with a long history of conflict stemming from territorial disputes and historical grievances related to Japan's colonization of Korea in the early 20th century.
As Korean residents and shop owners have increased their presence in Little Tokyo, the historic heart of Southern California's Japanese American community, the multicultural melding hasn't always been harmonious.
When the number of Koreans began multiplying in Little Tokyo Towers a few years ago, complaints about them from Japanese residents quickly began to surface. The Japanese immigrants said of the Koreans: "They smell of garlic." "They don't follow the rules." "They're going to take over." Then, from the Koreans: "The Japanese are snooty." "They don't greet you in the elevator." "They disdain Korean culture." "They're trying to push us out."
Today, however, the tone in the towers -- a 300-unit senior housing facility on 3rd Street -- is strikingly different. A Korean resident whose relatives were jailed for protesting Japan's colonization of his motherland is teaching his native language to a dozen of his Japanese neighbors. "Ga, gya, go, gyo," they intently repeated on a recent night, mimicking the sounds of the Korean alphabet as teacher Simon Yoon pointed them out on a whiteboard. Residents recently held a New Year's party and debuted a Korean-Japanese bilingual newsletter called "Bridges" to share their cultures. On other nights, they belt out songs in both languages using a karaoke machine purchased by Korean residents -- who took care to include 2,500 Japanese songs. And in August, they attended a groundbreaking "harmony concert" featuring Japanese and Korean music and dance.
The turnabout in Little Tokyo proves ethnic harmony is possible, the residents say. "We want to show that in Little Tokyo, there are people who want to be good neighbors to each other regardless of the past and all of the conflicts we've experienced. If reconciliation can happen in Little Tokyo, then it could be a model for the city and for Japan and South Korea."

Violence Continues to Escalate Along the Border. How Does the USA Help Mexico Resolve the Crisis?

As I previously reported, the violence is increasing along the US/Mexico borders. President Calderone has escalated their fight against the drug cartels and the army has been deployed across border cities to thwart the cartels. Last week the violence escalated in Juarez as Cartel supporters blocked the Mexico/US border stations in protest of the army presence. Meanwhile, the Juarez vigilante group voiced support for the army and the Juarez police.
The border is in an uproar as violence escalates and some local officials/police resign in lieu of threats against themselves and their families. Our USA has a certain degree of responsibility and accountability for this Drug Crisis since we are the number 1 Drug Abusing Country in the World and many reports indicate the USA is shipping some 2000 illegal weapons into the Mexican Cartels a Day.
What does America do to help Mexico defeat the Drug Cartels?
EL PASO - The El Paso Police Department is investigating alleged threats against Juárez Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz, who reportedly moved his family to El Paso for safety reasons, Det. Carlos Carrillo said Monday.
"We received information that the Juárez mayor lives in El Paso, and that possibly they were going to come to El Paso to get him," Carrillo said. "He has not asked us for our help, but it's our duty to protect any resident of our city who may be under threat." Juárez police said written threats against Reyes Ferriz and his family were left in different parts of Juárez after ex-police chief Roberto Orduña Cruz resigned Friday. The threats were written on banners the Juárez drug cartel has used to send messages to the police and others. In light of the threats, Juárez city spokesman Sergio Belmonte said the mayor has increased security for himself and other city officials. Chihuahua state officials said they are going to call a news conference later Monday to provide more details about Sunday's shooting attack that killed one of Chihuahua Gov. Jose Reyes Baeza Terrazas' bodyguards. The bodyguard who was killed while defending another state official was identified as Alejandro Chaparro Coronel. Officials said one of the armed men who allegedly killed Chaparro was injured and taken to a hospital.

JUAREZ -- A so-called narco offensive last week left Juárez police leaderless and under fire with a wave of killings that also targeted for death elected officials in the outlying village of Guadalupe. The Juárez Citizens Command vigilante group on Saturday issued a manifesto, in which the group supported the Mexican army and condemned the crimes against police officers last week. According to Juárez news media, the manifesto of the Comando Ciudadano por Juárez, or CCJ, alerted the community against a group of kidnappers and extortionists that travels the city in a white Grand Cherokee with tinted windows and Texas plates and a white pickup also with tinted windows but no plates. The manifesto states the CCJ will act soon and asked residents to report the criminals to three phone numbers in Juárez. It was signed by a group leader identified as Comandante Abraham.

Shawna Forde's (Director of Minutemen) Lies Are Exposed!

Shawna Forde has been exposed as a liar. After her ex-husband was shot, she claimed she was raped and shot by a Mexican Drug Cartel and it was connected to her work as a Minuteman. Now, in this expose, HeraldNet.com reports Forde finally confesses these crimes may have actually been committed by friends of her son who is currently in prison. This expose also provides details into Forde's very troubled life, her mental instability and criminal past.
Heraldnet.com reports:
Trouble finds Shawna Forde - Border activist at center of recent spate of violence
EVERETT -- An Everett woman who attracted national attention by suggesting Mexican drug cartels targeted her for a series of violent attacks now acknowledges she told police they ought to look closer to home for suspects -- including among her own son's friends. Shawna Forde, 41, said she is convinced there are links between the Dec. 22 shooting of her ex-husband at their north Everett home, her reported rape and beating at the same house a week later, and an attack on Jan. 15 in a nearby alley that left her with apparent gunshot wounds to her right arm...(the police) investigation should focus on local street toughs who until last summer were burglarizing Everett-area homes and trafficking in stolen firearms. One member of the ring was Forde's own son, Devon Duffey, 19. He went to prison in October and now is serving more than two years at the state penitentiary in Walla Walla for being a felon in possession of firearms, records show.
..Forde's ex-husband declined to be interviewed for this story. He was home alone when ambushed by a narrow-faced stranger dressed in khaki-colored clothing...Forde said it is ridiculous for anyone to think she had anything to do with her ex-husband's shooting. The attack occurred roughly two weeks after she returned to Everett from a three-month stretch engaged in Minuteman border operations. "If I was going to do something like that I would have done it while I was in Arizona," Forde said.
Troubled Life:
...Forde said she has been diagnosed with attachment disorder...restraining order against her..felony forgery charges..four marriages...On March 20, 2007, three young men (including her son) showed up at the beauty salon on Colby where Forde worked. One pulled a baseball bat from under his jacket and clobbered the man who owns the salon. The victim required hospital treatment to close his head wounds (son now in prison)...(Forde convicted of )chocolate milk shoplifting...
Forde said she knows her background is unconventional but said she's not worried that it may affect her ability to work with other Minutemen in combatting illegal immigration and drug smuggling.

Get Ready for the New Great Depression. Leading Economists Say: "We are in the midst of a Depression with No End in Sight."

My readers know I am an optimist. I see a glass of water as half full, not half empty. My entire life, I have always believed that if you worked hard enough and always did your best you would succeed.
However, times are different now. I am sharing with my viewers my concern for our economy. Though I have shared my concern before, this time, I am listening to my own favorite economists and others who are saying the U.S. and the Global Economy is in free-fall with no end in sight. The stimulus package, though needed, is but a band-aid and will not stop this free-fall. Now more banks are failing and there is talk of Bank Nationalization.
. Robert Reich: "The truth is, no one has any idea how long this crisis will last or exactly how to reverse it. Anyone who says differently cannot be trusted..Financial stocks are in free fall because no one trusts financials any longer. A sell-off in bank, housing, insurance and other financial stocks has accelerated."
. George Soros: "the world financial system has effectively disintegrated.. there is yet no prospect of a near-term resolution to the crisis."
. Paul Volcker: "I don't remember any time, maybe even in the Great Depression, when things went down quite so fast, quite so uniformly around the world."
. Lindsey Graham: "I'm very much afraid that any program to salvage the banks is going to require the government. I would not take off the idea of the nationalizing the banks."
It is clear, historians will look back and say we are in the midst of the 2008 -2010 Great Depression.
I ask all viewers and all Americans to start considering their options for the future. I don't want you to be fooled by some in government or in the media that are saying there may be hope to get out of this current mess this year or next. We all have to understand we are in the midst of a Depression.
Most of us still have some time. We need to start developing a plan in case you lose your job and your family has no income. Consider the fact you probably cannot sell your house. Even so, you can still make these plans and not negatively impact the economy.
Here are some simple suggestions:
1. Write down every penny you spend. That is, write down all your purchases, starting today. Do this for a month.
2. Once you have your list, make a monthly calendar. This will be your monthly plan. You can plan your shopping and your menus well in advance.
3. Figure out what you can buy in bulk once a month, things like Toilet Paper, canned/boxed goods.
4. Start clipping coupons. Also, if you shop at Wal-mart, they will match any low prices from any competitor. Just take their flyers with you when you go to the store.
5. This is the start of a monthly budget. Do some analysis. Decide what you need, what you don't need.
6. You will start saving money once you do this. So start saving as much as you can. Save enough money so that you can survive for 3 months if you lost your job.
7. If you do lose your job, you will probably qualify for unemployment. So on top of your 3 months savings, the unemployment will help you too.
8. Take any job. Don't think any job is beneath you. Remember, Wal-mart and McDonalds are always hiring. Think of the jobs your grandparents worked just to survive and bring you along.
9. If needed, bring extended family members who need help into your home and share costs until the crisis is over.
Don't wait for the last minute. Start writing down all you spend today. This is the easiest, yet most crucial step.
Finally, I think all of us personally remember the last 8 years and how we got here, so I will close with: "Thank you George Bush for eight miserable years of Economic Gloom and Doom and for getting us into this mess!"

Hate Groups Organizing to Defeat the Federal Hate Crimes Bill!

The FBI and the SPLC have reported a significant increase in HATE Crimes in 2008/2007 vs previous years. Among the highest include Hate Crimes against Latinos, Gays and Blacks. For that reason, Representative Sheila Jackson-Lee sponsored HR 256, a Federal Bill to enhance Federal Enforcement of Hate Crimes.
Several Racist Hate Groups are organizing to defeat this proposed legislation. The ANTI forces are fully aware that our President Obama supports these bills. They are fully aware former President Bush opposed them and, even when passed, vetoed previous bills.
These Hate Groups are rallying, in force, and are asking all of their members to deluge Congress with phone calls, emails and faxes to stop this bill from passing. The ANTI forces are extremely skilled in this exercise. They have been using their core of retirees and on-line hate mongers to support their activities over the last several years.
We Humanitarian Americans KNOW and UNDERSTAND their activities. Unfortunately, many in Congress do not. Many in Congress believe this small group of trained zealots are massive in numbers and could effect their bids for re-election.
How do we educate ALL Americans of what is happening? How do we educate Congress of the ANTI tactics? One way is to publish the ANTI forces' rantings and allow allow all Americans to know of their activities.
Here are some of their rantings on their websites:
1. johnelis from alipac: Does anyone know of anyone doing effective activism to defeat the Federal Hate Crimes Bill? The bill is in the House Judiciary Committee, getting ready to be pushed through Congress, Obama says he will sign similar bills that Pres. Bush vetoed. ..The Fed Hate crime bill is the same as the laws in the EU/Canada that make it a Federal crime to say anything negative about a PC, protected group and that includes Muslim immigrants of all kinds, illegal aliens, homosexual extremists etc.
2. Reverend Ted Pike: Hate crimes laws may make you a lawbreaker! Such laws, while claiming to promote tolerance, actually lead to the end of free speech! Powerful articles and NPN's new video expose of hate crimes laws in Canada and the United States provide you with the vital tools necessary to combat this imminent threat to freedom. This video is especially important as acts of terrorism extend the power of "Big Brother" to monitor what you do, say, and think. SAVE YOUR FREEDOM NOWLatest Information on Hate Crimes Bill Fight.
3. Stop the Hate Bills:To stop these hate bills, we must repeat the sensationally effective and simple strategy that helped defeat the hate bill two years ago: 1. Phone or email the House and Senate members from your state. Call toll-free 1-877xxx 2. Take 10 minutes each morning or on your lunch break to also call or email the 40 members of the House Judiciary Committee.
Let's alert Congress and ALL Americans of their antics!

New PEW Report Provides SHOCKING Link between Racial Profiling Against Latinos and Latino Federal Prison Sentences!

According to a new study by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center, Latinos accounted for 40% of all people sentenced to federal crimes in 2007, even though they made up only 13% of the U.S. adult population. This is clearly a result of all of the Racial Profiling brought about by the 287(g) policies and the restrictionist policies promoted by the ANTI Immigration Reform forces.
The study, which relied on data from U.S. Sentencing Commission statistics, analyzed the ethnic makeup and citizenship status of offenders sentenced in federal courts in the U.S. from 1991 to 2007.
In 2007, nearly half of all Latino offenders were sentenced for an immigration offense. The heightened focus on immigration enforcement changed the citizenship profile of federal offenders. Among sentenced immigration offenders, most were convicted of the civil violation of unlawfully entering or remaining in the U.S. Fully 75% of Latino offenders sentenced for immigration in 2007 were convicted of merely entering the U.S. unlawfully or residing in the country without authorization.
Some groups of offenders were more likely than others to receive a sentence. Fully 96% of immigration offenders received a prison sentence in 2007, compared with 95% of drug offenders, 94% of firearms offenders and 94% of violent offenders. In 2007, 96% of Latino offenders, and 98% of non-U.S. citizen Latino offenders, were sentenced to prison. In contrast, 89% of black offenders and 82% of white offenders received a prison sentence. Hispanics are much more likely than whites or blacks to be sentenced for an immigration or drug offense (due to Racial Profiling)—two of the crimes most likely to be punished with a prison sentence. In 2007, 85% of Hispanics were sentenced for either a drug or immigration offense. This was 40 percentage points greater than any other racial or ethnic group: 46% of black offenders and 37% of white offenders were sentenced for drug or immigration offenses.
As I previously reported, a new report from the Migration Policy Institute details the FAILURE of the National Fugitive Operations Program (NFOP), led by ICE, to remove fugitive aliens. Even though the NFOP budget has soared from $9M to $218M since 2003, the results have been a reduction of convictions of criminal aliens from 39% to a mere 9%. As I have been reporting for some time, ICE has taken the EASY WAY OUT. They boosted the rate of ICE Raids to meet their NFOP targets. The findings of the MPI report details that ICE has resorted to targetting non-criminals, including seamstresses, meat-packers and technical workers, just to meet their arrest quotas.
What is most alarming is the impact of Racial Profiling on the Latino Community.
MESSAGE TO JANET NAPOLITANO -- Stop the Racial Profiling! Stop the 287(g) programs. Consider the Costs of these unneccessary, lengthy incarcerations. Consider the FAILURE of the NFOP programs. Consider the abuses in the privately owned (RNC Crony Owned), vermin infested, non-humanitarian Detention Centers. Now is the time for Comprehnsive Immigration Reform!

Rupert Murdoch's NY Post Publishes Racist Cartoon Against Obama!

Representatives of the Republican Party, still reeling from their November losses, are at it again. First, Limbaugh, one of their party leaders and chief spokesperson, said he wanted Obama and our country to Fail. Then Chip Saltsman, candidate for RNC Chair, sent out a "Barack the Magic Negro" CD to his fellow RNC members. Now, Rupert Murdoch, owner of Fox News and a large RNC contributor, has his NY Post newspaper publish an extremely racist cartoon against Obama's Stimulus package.
Here is what some have said about the cartoon: Barbara Ciara, president of the National Association of Black Journalists said: "To compare the nation's first African-American commander in chief to a dead chimpanzee is nothing short of racist drivel."
The Rev. Al Sharpton called the cartoon "troubling at best given the historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys." Sharpton planned to picket the Post on Thursday along with others.

Judge the cartoon for yourselves. Clearly Racist!! It appears the RNC is not only desperate, they are resorting to mean racism to rally their troops. Shame on them!!

Hate Crime Murder Victim's Mother Feels Sadness for Mothers of the Accused!

Last November, Marcelo Lucero was murdered by the "Caucasian Crew," a group of frenzied teenagers in search of a Mexican to beat up in Patchogue, NY.
Add Image
Today, Marcelo's mother Rosario Lucero sat in the courtroom as two of the young Caucasian Crew faced justice. With her surviving son Joselo and daughter Isabel, Rosario Lucero sat three rows behind defendants Nicholas Hausch and Jordan Dasch, who were both sitting with their parents. Hausch's mother was holding her son's arm. The atmosphere was somber and quiet and there were no exchanges between the families.

When asked how she felt about the court proceedings, Mrs. Lucero responded, "I feel sadness for the mothers of those kids, because they're going through a lot of pain, however we are all human beings and we don't have a right to take a life."

The judge adjourned the case until April 1, 2009.

Janet Napolitano Supports PRO Immigration Reform Recommendations!

Janet Napolitano speaks, for the first time, on her plans for Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
In a nutshell, Napolitano says:
1. Secure Southern Border but No 2000 mile Fence: Instead Technology. "Some fencing in some places may make sense, but only if it's part of an overall system."
2. Pathway to Citizenship via facilitating the applications for citizenship of those who are entitled to become citizens.
3. No Mass Deportation, No ICE Raids: We will not focus on raids. Mass Deportation is up to Congress. "But right now we're focusing on human traffickers ." We are after Felonious Criminals!
4. Employer Sanctions: Interior enforcement against those who intentionally are going into the illegal labor market and creating a demand for illegal laborers. "I met with the Attorney General for the United States, Eric Holder, to talk about how we unite the forces of the U.S. Attorney's offices across the country with our offices to make sure that those who are actually benefiting financially in large scale from this pay a criminal sanction."
Napolitano's Bottom Line:
"We want enforcement of our nation's immigration laws; we want at the right time to take up the whole issue of immigration; and we want to do what we can administratively to help those who are entitled now to become citizens under our law to get through that process."

Humanitarian Group "Border Angels" Pray for Peace and Healing in Shenandoah, site of Hate Crime Murder of Luis Ramirez

The Humanitarian Group "The Border Angels" and their famed Humanitarian Founder, Enrique Morones, visited the town of Shenandoah, Pennsylvania on Valentine's Day to honor the memory of Luis Ramirez. Ramirez was the victim of the "Kick in the Head" Hate Crime Murder last August.
The Border Angels and local residents came together to pray for Peace and an end to all Hate Crimes in their Community and across the U.S.
Tom O’Neill, son of Thomas F. O’Neill, who was the mayor of Shenandoah at the time the beating occurred, attended the vigil and spoke to the crowd.“This was tragic for the entire town. The whole town right now needs to heal. If they want change, they’ll have to bring it about on their own,” he said.
Change is exactly what Hazleton resident Dr. Agapito Lopez was looking for Saturday. Lopez came to the Shenandoah vigil in solidarity with the Border Angels mission and with Ramirez’s family.“This was an example of a Mexican immigrant murdered by teens that belonged to the football team. More and more Latinos are becoming victims of hate crimes,” Lopez said. “We’re doing this on Valentine’s Day because we need to stop the hate.”
Standing just feet from where Ramirez was beaten, two Philadelphia immigration activists said the sadness was palpable.“I can’t even begin to describe how sad it makes me to think this happened here,” said Simone Bennett, a Border Angels supporter. “This kind of awareness-raising needs to happen more in our communities.”
Border Angels’ founder Enrique Morones stood in front of a group of sign-toting supporters from states including California, Virginia, Illinois and Pennsylvania to speak about the Ramirez incident and the state of immigration law in the U.S.
We want humane and comprehensive immigration reform,” Morones, who wore a T-shirt bearing the phrase, “Who would Jesus deport?” told a small crowd Saturday. “It’s time for President Obama to come through with his campaign promises. We need to stop the raids, the walls, and we need immigration reform.”
Morones explained the Border Angels are in the midst of a 27-state tour to spark a change in immigration laws. Their visit in Shenandoah precedes similar vigils in New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.
“What happened here represents the worst of the American spirit,” Morones said. “We want to show love for Luis Ramirez, for his family, and even for the people who killed him. They are human beings — misguided human beings — but human beings as well.”

The Border Angels started their cross country March on Wednesday, February 2, 2009 at Friendship Park in San Diego. March organizers head to Washington, D.C., Feb. 17-19 to begin lobbying for immigration reform. They will meet with former Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, who is now the secretary of Homeland Security.
