Former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's appearance before the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville Saturday night gave plenty of red meat to the attendees. She taunted all Americans who voted for the President's message of Hope and Change, "Now, a year later, I gotta ask the supporters of all that, 'How's that hopey, changey thing working out for ya?' " (She actually stole this disrespectful joke from a t-shirt!)
Then, more meat for the crowd, including calling President Obama "a charismatic guy with a Teleprompter."
Meanwhile, she could be seen glancing at her hands repeatedly during her Q&A with Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips when asked what were the top three things a Conservative majority in Congress should do. A photographer's picture revealed the words "Energy," "Budget cuts" (crossed out), "Tax," and "Lift Americans Spirits" scribbled in ink on the inside of her left hand.
So?
ReplyDeleteall we can do is feel sorry for these ppl, they live in a fantasy 1950's Mayberry world
ReplyDeleteThe teabaggers are very sad cases. You are right!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean they live in a 5o's Mayberry world? The teabaggers formed because they want fiscal responsibility on the part of our government. Bush was not fiscally responsible nor is Obama being fiscally responsible. That is their focus, nothing else.
ReplyDeleteThe Republicans think they can ride on the coatails of this movement to get back into office.
There are many issues that the teabaggers do not agree with the Republicans on.
What is sad about wanting our goverment to be fiscally responsible for a change? We are trillions in debt much of which we inherited from the Bush administration and a continuation of it with the Obama administration. Fiscal responsiblity is the change that we need.
LOL Anon.
ReplyDeleteFiscally Responsible??
Is that why Palin, self proclaimed Queen of the Teabaggers, crossed out "Budget Cuts" on her hand notes?
Remember the National Conference was held in the countryside of Nashville, not too far from ole Mayberry, where Ms. Sarah said the "true americans" reside.
ReplyDeleteIf you continue status quo, the healthcare providers/insurance companies are going to continue to skyrocket the costs. HOW is THAT fiscally responsible.
ReplyDeleteThe healthcare system is BROKEN and the TEABAGGERS are wearing their BLINDERS to the issues and the FACT that the system is broken and needs to be fixed.
Sad!!
Some of the teabaggers recommend the end to medicare.
ReplyDeletePoor Granny and Grandpa!!
You see Anon, the teabaggers don't have a viable recommendation. All they do is moan, groan, complain, support the millionaire healthcare provides/insurance companies, and have blowhard spokesmen like Tancredo and Palin filling the air with smoke and attacks against our President.
Sad!!
Fools in Power :
ReplyDeleteEmperor Caligula appointed his horse as "Consul of Rome" ...
Emperor Nero won all artistic competitions in Rome and Greece while he was the Emperor. He sung with a Lyre, like a harp that is used by little angels in Heaven.
In recent times we have seen excellent examples of Fools in Power :
Chavez in Venezuela and that Lady in Argentina ( fools that become extremely rich in power )
The United States gave an excellent example a few years ago.
The most Amazing Fact about the Republican Party in year 2010 is the lack of Intellect, Foolish TV Entertainers Palin and Huckabee, more useful for a Circus of Clowns than to direct the USA.
Can the Greatest Super Power in History be directed by her Greatest Fools lacking all intellect and knowledge ??
The answer is very sad !
And imagine Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, Tom Tancredo, Newt Gingrich and Joe Wilson !
All those fools can have a great option of Managing the Empire and sinking it.

But you are stating that only Obama's idea's (your agreement with everything he says and does) is the only way to fix what you deem to be broken systems.
ReplyDeleteThere is no cost controls in either HCR bills (Senate or House versions), only mandates that we purchase HC with the "hopes" that Insurance Companies will lower costs (change).
Is that the "Hope and Change" you so desperately desire?
Palin is a Republican. I have no idea why she crossed out anything on her hand. Get this straight, the teabaggers are not the Republicans and the Republicans are not the teabaggers. As I said, the Republicans are trying to ride on the coattails of the teabagger movement but by no means are they mutally inclusive or hold the same views on everything. The teabaggers want to distance themselves from both Bush and Obama fiscally irresponsible policies, period.
ReplyDeleteThe teabaggers merely disagree with healthcare reform in its present form. That doesn't mean they want to keep the status quo just something different than what the Democrats are offering up. There is more than one way to skin a cat, (pardon the analogy here). I think a compromise can be reached.
ReplyDeleteSo "some" of the teabaggers want to end medicare, so what? You do know that "some" does not mean the majority, don't you? Anymore than "some" Democrats don't want CIR means the majority don't. You can't use "some" to represent the majority.
All presidents have been under verbal attack from some Americans since this country's founding. So what is your point? It is called freedom of speech.
I would like to see an exact quote by Palin where she said that the only true Americans are near some ficticious town of Mayberry from a tv show. Are we grasping at straws here now?
LiquidMicro,
ReplyDeleteWe don't agree with everything Obama is doing, yet what scares the hell out of people is that we have a President who is actually trying to do what he promised to do during the campaign. How refreshing.
The people elected him and he needs to be left to do his job. Since day one, the tea baggers, the right wing extremists and others have done everything in their power to prevent the man from doing anything.
They accused him of trying to take over the banks with the TARP funds.
Guess what? Most of that money has been paid back, accelerated payback as a matter of fact, because the banks wanted nothing to do with the rules attached to it. Anybody consider that might have been Obama's reasoning in the first place for putting those rules of executive compensation in place? If that was the case, I'd say it was pretty smart of him.
Healthcare? The teabaggers and everyone else has fallen for the multi million dollar campaign sponsored by the health care lobby to derail health care reform, including Palin's "Death Panel" BS.
We had 8 years of a Republican presidency that got us into two wars, one that was unneeded and has cost us more than 4.000 American lives and took us from a budget surplus to a trillion dollar deficit, and you people want to put the pubs back in power?
Willy Cunningham on 700WLW and who now host the old Sunday night Drudge report says it best.
THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE STUPID!
Liquid and PCorn,
ReplyDeleteAs PCorn said, I (and many BHO supporters) don't agree with every BHO idea. However, what is clear is, we need Healthcare reform, particularly we need:
1. no denial for pre existing conditions
2. affordable/attainable insurance for all; reign in the out of control costs by healthcare provider; drug providers. Any working person in America who bothered to study their own healthcare costs knows this and knows HC providers are receiving outlandish bonuses/profits!
3. I support public option because it provides an affordable alternative and will keep the healthcare providers in check when they have competition.
People (e.g. teabaggers) need to STOP believing the Healthcare Lobbies who say the HC Bill means:
. Death Panels; kill granny
. Elimination/Reduction of Medicare
. Scary Socialism/Communism/Hitler
Additionally, I think the Repugs are all wet when they say they want to start the Health Care Reform bills over from scratch and start with tort reform. That is ridiculous. How does that help the consumer. It only helps the Healthcare providers. Every day you hear about a new drug that has detrimental effects on the public. People die as the pharmaceutical industry receives record profits. And they want to put a cap on how much people can sue when their loved ones die. That is the Repubs 1st order of business. Tort Reform. Despicable!
ReplyDeleteWe all agree there needs to be some form of HCR, again, i don;t agree with what either the House or the Senate has come up with. As for Allowing Obama to do what he promised in regards to HCR, blame the (D)'s, as he had all the (D)'s he needed in Congress to pass anything he wanted.
ReplyDeleteAs for TARP, I didn't agree with it from the get go, they should have allowed them all to go bankrupt, which would have had the effect of downsizing these large "to big to fail" businesses into smaller businesses, basically it would have broke up the monopolies and separated the portions of the company from the portion failing, which is now what is being talked about in Congress. It would have saved the money and our debt would be far less than it actually is.
The Tea Parties are more for spending less money vs bailouts, and yes, HCR is a bailout to Insurance providers, by way of mandate.
Those "death panels" sure got some changes in the HCR bills once they were brought up. Good or Bad, Congress did make changes.
You make some desires of HCR you want, Dee, but none of it is actually in the Bills. I'm not willing to vote ye for this HCR simply because of what little I may get vs what Insurance greatly gets.
Tort reform is not about the drugs, Dee, its about malpractice suits of doctors, and mistakes made by Hospitals. If your concern is with drugs, why has Pharma been given a pass with no outside interference from other makers abroad? There is no competition, or the allowable better drug to come in due to "deals" made by the (D)'s.
Uuuhhh, Liquid,
ReplyDeleteRegarding the HCR bill and pre-existing conditions:
Both the House plan and the Senate bill would eventually limit total out-of-pocket expenses and prevent insurance companies from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions.
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/12/24/health.care/index.html
Also for both bills:
ReplyDeleteInsurers would also be barred from charging higher premiums based on a person's gender or medical history.
Also in both bills:
ReplyDeleteMedicaid would be significantly expanded under both proposals. The House bill would extend coverage to individuals earning up to 150 percent of the poverty level, or roughly $33,000 for a family of four. The Senate plan ensures coverage to those earning up to 133 percent of the poverty level, or just over $29,000 for a family of four.
Liquid,
ReplyDeleteTort Reform allows the every day American to sue if he is wronged. Republicans 1st priority being Tort Reform recommends LIMITING everyday American's ability to SUE, then CAPPING the amount they can win!
WHY ARE REPUBLICAN'S 1ST PRIORITY SUPPORTING BIG BUSINESS AND STOPPIGN EVERY DAY AMERICANS FROM SUING WHEN THEY ARE WRONG? WHY ARE THE TEABAGGERS SUPPORTING THIS??
Read the Wiki Definition:
Tort reform refers to proposed changes in the civil justice system that would reduce tort litigation or damages. Tort is a system for compensating wrongs and harm done by one party to another's person, property or other protected interests (e.g. reputation, under libel and slander laws). Tort reform advocates focus on personal injury in particular.
In the United States tort reform is a contentious political issue. US tort reform advocates propose, among other things, procedural LIMITS on the ability to file claims, and CAPPING the awards of damages.

ReplyDeleteThis does not insure that premiums will not dramatically go up within a short period of time. Remember, insurance providers are in business to make a profit, not go in the hole.

The tort reform wanted was to control law suits against doctors and hospitals (defined), which will help to keep costs down, as I described, not the literal definition you are attempting to use.
You still blame the (R)'s when the (D)'s had the super majority (Senate) needed to pass any and all legislation Obama could have wanted. In the House, the (D)'s can't garner enough support to pass the Senate bill, with more than enough (D)'s, well over a majority. The house can pass it without any (R)'s whatsoever.
I don't agree with either bill based on the simple fact of what little I may get, by way of mandate of paying the profits of the insurance companies or big Pharma. Both bills are (D) bills, yet you claim the (R)'s are in bed with big business, you have it backwards.
The Rs are in bed with the Health Insurance Carriers and Pharmas. That is why they are against the bills. Many of the teabaggers are in bed with them too, though they may not realize it. I know there are also many Ds that are in bed with them too.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Ds are in power, they are not in Manipulative Control as the Rs are when they are in power. The Rs don't care about bi-partisanship, especially when they are in power. They bully through any laws, lessen the Civil and Humanitarian Rights, and stronghold for big business through deregulation.
I fault the Ds for being such wimps and not pushing through the Human Rights agenda when they are in power. They look like a bunch of weak willed pushovers. Yes. I do fault them for being wimps!
This includes our President for not being more forceful with his own party.
ReplyDeleteIf we FAIL, as the Rs hope, it will be because the Ds were weak wimps...ALL of them!
I showed you before how Obama made the deals with Big Pharma and the Insurance companies in this bill. There were enough (D) votes in the Senate to get any bill through, they had the 60 vote majority, and yet still failed to do anything.
