SB1070 Update: A Humanitarian Hero Stands Tall and Tells the Truth about SB1070 - It Is Racial Profiling!

A Humanitarian Hero Stands Tall in Arizona and tells the TRUTH about the Racial Profiling Bill SB1070:
The Pima County, Arizona, sheriff told KGUN9 News in Tucson that state Senate Bill 1070 to deter illegal immigration is a "racist law." He said he has no intention of complying with it.
According to the TV station, Dupnik becomes the first major local law enforcement official to rebel against the bill since Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed it into law Friday.
Dupnik called the law "disgusting" and "unnecessary." He knows he could get sued for failing to comply with the law - a risk, he says he's willing to take.

  1. It is a sorry spectacle when someone sworn to uphold the law refuses to do so. Let's hope he is up for re-election soon and that he has enough citizen consti-tuents to let him know that kind of behavior will not be tolerated.
If he disagrees with this law, the honorable thing to do is to resign not subvert the rule of law. What kind of a message is he sending to the lawless elements in our society?

  3. Everyone is entitled to his opinion but this law does not need to be about racial profiling. Just make sure officers check the immigration status of all who are stopped for other reasons. But you see the anti-rule of law , pro illegal crowd would not find this acceptable either because they know that procedure would identify most of the illegals and that is what they are opposed to. It has little to do with racial profiling. They just don't want the illegals to be identified and removed. That is a much harder argument to make so they focus on what some consider racial profiling.

Let's ask them: "Would you accept the idea of a machine readable, biometric ID for all citizens of Arizona, with a temp ID issued to visitors, so that everyone would have a way to prove their bona fides if stopped for other infractions like traffic, DUI, trespassing, etc?" No racial profiling there!!

  4. The Pima county of this brave sheriff limits with Mexico and seems to have big Indian Population of the Pima tribe, also Tucson is located in Pima.

    From Wikipedia I extract :

Pima County is a county in the south central region of the U.S. state of Arizona. The county is named after the Pima American Indian tribe which was indigenous to the area. The population was 843,746 at the 2000 census. The county seat is Tucson,[1] where nearly all of the population is centered.

Pima County contains parts of the Tohono O'odham Nation, as well as all of the San Xavier Indian Reservation, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, Ironwood Forest National Monument and Saguaro National Park.

The vast majority of the county population lies in and around the city of Tucson (2005 city population: 529,770), filling much of the eastern part of the county with urban development. Tucson, Arizona's second largest city, is a major commercial and academic center. Other urban areas include the Tucson suburbs of Oro Valley (population 39,400), Marana (population 26,725), Sahuarita (population 13,990), and South Tucson (population 5,630), a large ring of unincorporated urban development, and the growing satellite town Green Valley. The rest of the county is sparsely populated; the largest towns are Sells, the capital of the Tohono O'odham Nation, and Ajo in the far western region of the county.

This is the bravest sheriff in Arizona and America. A Great Gentleman.

  5. The Sheriff of Pima County should be HONORED for his bravery of standing up AGAINST a Racial Profiling bill especially since this bill is against the law, the constitution and violates Latino citizens' civil liberties.

  7. Ultima,
The Sheriff of Pima County and the Mayor of Phoenix both sent letters to the DOJ asking for the Racial Profiling investigation against arpaio and his masked goons. OF COURSE this BILL promotes Racial Profiling! We have WITNESSED racail profiling as committed by arpaio and his masked goons. arpaio is planning on being even MORE agressive if this bill comes to fruition.
Don't deny the FACTS, what has occurred and arpaio's plans for implementation. It will be horrendous. When you read the bill and arpaio sees the word "Lawful Contact" he thinks his suppression sweeps in Latino neighborhoods, stopping every car filled with Latinos is "Lawful Contact." He thinks telling legal citizens to shut up and to stand on the side of the road in handcuffs for 4 hours and force them to pee on the ground in handcuffs is just police work. Sorry Ultima. I call that RACIAL PROFILING!!

  8. You know it is a bad law when a sheriff, Dupnik, who only last year wanted to check the legal status of children in Arizona's schools is against it. I would not go so far as to call Dupnik a hero, but a realist who understands the cost involved in implementing the law and the cost of defending it in court.

  9. Read it and weep, Dee. Add Colorado and Oklahoma to the list also. The city of Costa Mesa, Ca is considering a similar measure. Face it, you and your traitorous ilk have lost the war.

Texas, Utah, Georgia, Ohio and Maryland

Will Other States Follow Arizona's Lead on Immigration?

Politicians in at least five states are calling for their state legislatures to adopt immigration laws that mirror Arizona's controversial new measure.

  11. Evil Anon,
I would not be so quick in rejoicing that racist members of 5 state legislatures are considering bringing a similar bill to SB1070 to vote. This racial profiling bill, like no other, is rallying the base. We are recruiting more and more voters, Humanitarian voters from all ethnicities, into registering to vote and voting these racial profiler supporters OUT OF OFFICE.

This weekend for example you will see hundreds of thousands of marchers registering citizens to VOTE in mid year elections. We will ALSO encourage all to BOYCOTT Arizona.

    We are on to you.
    We are Motivated.
    We are VOTING!!!

    God Bless America!
    God Bless our President Obama!
