AZ Sen. Kyl: "YOU LIE!"
AZ Sen. Jon Kyl has a long time history of lying and exaggerations to support his republican agenda. The Brad Blog taped this example (see video) of his false allegations and refusal to provide proof of his false claims. Now Kyl is LYING about what he "says" the President said to him. This lie is particularly blatant because no one, no Democrat or Republican, can imagine the President taking a zealot like Kyl aside to share a "private confidence."
Politico.com reports:
The White House on Monday denied Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl’s claim that President Barack Obama told him privately that he would not work to secure the border unless it was part of a comprehensive immigration reform package. In a video that started circulating among conservative blogs over the weekend, the Arizona Republican is seen telling supporters in North Phoenix that in a private meeting in the Oval Office, Obama said “the problem” with border enforcement measures is that “if we secure the border then [Republicans] won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.” Kyl said the president’s supposed statement is proof that Democrats “don’t want to secure the border unless or until it is combined with comprehensive immigration reform.”
But in a statement to POLITICO, White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer denied Kyl’s account of the conversation, saying “the President didn’t say that and Senator Kyl knows it.” “There are more resources dedicated toward border security today than ever before, but, as the President has made clear, truly securing the border will require a comprehensive solution to our broken immigration system,” Pfeiffer said.
Kyl has been one of the most outspoken critics of the president on immigration reform and has before accused Democrats of holding up border security in order to keep it as a chip to negotiate for broader reform. Later in the video, Kyl says the reason the federal government has not secured the border is that Democrats “don’t want to do it.” “They want to get something in return for doing their duty,” the Arizona Republican said. “You don’t have to have comprehensive reform to secure the border, but you have to secure the border to get comprehensive reform.” Kyl spokesman Ryan Patmintra said the senator is not backing down from his assertion, despite the White House’s denial. “There were two people in that meeting, and Dan Pfieffer was not one of them,” Patmintra said. “Senator Kyl stands by his remarks, and the White House spokesman’s pushback that you must have comprehensive immigration reform to secure the border only confirms Senator Kyl’s account.”
Well, I wouldn't put it past him since this is his latest shenanigan
ReplyDeleteTypical Republican Lies and Twists. Kyl is a blatant Liar as is evident in the links I provided. The video is very telling and I hope all the viewers view it.
ReplyDeleteFor the McCain confirmation of the Kyl-Obama conversation see this video
ReplyDeleteGiven Obama's past propensity to bend the truth, I think it is reasonable to conclude that it is he who is guilty of prevarication rather than Kyl. Kyl seems to have a witness or maybe 39 witnesses to Obama's perfidy.

The Arizona Republic : Jan Brewer : "the majority of Illegals are not coming here to work. They are coming here and they're bringing drugs. And they're doing drophouses and they're extorting people and they're terrorizing the families. That is the truth, That is the truth"

Some excerpts :
And I'm not sure she does. Particularly after what she said during the June 15 televised debate among Republican gubernatorial candidates, the debate that none of us watched because there was a basketball game on at the same time.
Luckily (Or is it unluckily?) I have friends with grown-up tendencies, and one of them suggested I check out the debate online. There is a curious exchange late in the program between Brewer and Matt Jette, one of the other candidates. Jette said of illegal immigrants, "These people, a lot of them, are just trying to feed their family . . . They just want to work."
Brewer immediately jumped in, saying, "We are a nation of laws. And they are coming across our border illegally. And the majority of them, in my opinion, and, I think, in the opinion of law enforcement, is that they are not coming here to work. They are coming here and they're bringing drugs. And they're doing drophouses and they're extorting people and they're terrorizing the families. That is the truth, Matt. That is the truth . . . "
The majority are not coming to work? The majority are drug-dealing extortionists?
Sadly, Arizona politicians have figured out that getting elected means convincing voters that they are tougher on immigration issues than the other guys. This leads to a little . . . exaggeration.

Oklahoma is looking at passing tougher penalties for illegal immigrants caught with firearms. South Carolina might make it illegal to hire workers on the side of the road. In addition, state immigration legislation is also being considered in Idaho, Utah, Missouri, Texas, North Carolina, Maryland, Minnesota, and Colorado. Are all the cities you list prepared to boycott these states as well as CA?
ReplyDeleteVideo where Jean Brewer says a lot of stupid things about "Illegal Aliens", that the majority of them are drug dealers, extorsionists and have dope houses or drop houses.
ReplyDeleteMexicans or Latinos are genetically Terrorists and Criminals ??
Republican Primary Candidates for Governor :
One-hour debate sponsored by the Citizens Clean Elections Commission - GOP governor hopefuls for Arizona - Debate on Tuesday June 22, 2010 - Some candidates compete to see which one is more racist.
Competition to see who is the most Racist :
Matt Jette is the only Intelligent Guy - He does not support Total Amnesty or Open Borders, but does not pander to Racists, Haters, Fear and Paranoia. And he explains the dangers of creating Paranoia, instead of concentrating on Practical Solutions.
Jan Brewer says ( at minute 49 of the Hourly Debate ) :
"We are a nation of laws. That is the truth . . . "
The talk about SB1070 begins in minute 37 of the hourly debate - And it is very clear that she equates "Illegal Aliens" to Criminality, Aggression, Drug Dealers, Extorsionists and even terrorists.
