King is also aggressive. Though newly named to this Chairmanship, he has already given an interview to CBS News saying he is “looking at dropping a bill early in the 112th Congress” to change the 14th Amendment (Jus Soli). King was quick to state he is proposing this bill specifically targetting those whose parents come here from South of the Border. He said he expected hearings “in the next couple months” after the legislation is introduced. I wouldn't be surprised if his intent is to make this law retroactive!
After this proposal to change the 14th Amendment, given his history, we can expect King to introduce bills which support Mass Deportation, national immigration laws which resemble racial profiling bill sb1070, "Official English" bills which support ending the printing of all government documents in any language other than English, and the end to government interpreters. He may even extend these laws into the workplace.
The Republicans move to put King in this very high profile position sends a very clear signal. They care NOTHING about the Latino Vote or the Minority Vote. Given this aggressive and negative stand by the Republicans, the racist ANTI Latino thugs will surely feel empowered. NumbersUSA and other Hate Groups (as identified by the ADL) strongly support Rep King. In fact they have scored him A+ on their Immigration Report (Hate) Card. On Nov. 11, after his Republican appointment to Chair the Immigration sub-committee, King even hosted an ANTI Latino Immigration forum which feature Roy Beck from Numbers USA and other Hate group members. They used this forum to begin developing their ANTI Latino Immigration Agenda for 2011. Check this link to see the cast of characters attending, including Steve Camarota (CIS) and Jerry Kammer (CIS) of the CIS - John Tanton Network.
The ANTI Latino rhetoric and hate crimes we have seen in the past are sure to increase in the months ahead. Let's be prepared for the inevitable. Our only hope is for everyone to be aware of their actions for what they are and draw attention to them. We also must register as many fair minded people as possible for the 2012 election!
King's long history of racist comments against our President, Blacks and Latinos include:
Remarks about President Obama/Government:
. attacked President Obama saying his policies "favor black people."
. "Obama will certainly be viewed as a savior for them (terrorists).... That's why you will see them supporting him, encouraging him."
. promoted a false conspiracy theory that President Obama was bringing Muslims into the U.S.
. said Obama’s decision to use his middle name, "Hussein", when he was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States to be "bizarre" and “a double-standard."
. King said he "empathized" with the man who flew a plane into the IRS building in Austin, Texas, killing himself and an IRS employee, saying he is also opposed to the IRS.
Remarks about Latinos / Immigration:
. compared undocumented immigrants to cockroaches
. Illegal Immigrants Can Be Spotted By Their Shoes Or A "Sixth Sense"
. re: sb1070 "(Racial) Profiling has always been an important component of legitimate law enforcement. If you can’t profile someone, you can’t use those common sense indicators that are before your very eyes."
Background: Rep. Steve King - Chairman of the Immigration sub-committee
Steven Arnold "Steve" King is the U.S. Representative for Iowa's 5th congressional district, serving since 2003. He is a member of the Republican Party. He was born May 28, 1949 in Storm Lake Iowa. He does not have a college degree. He was an Iowa State Senator from 1996 - 2002. As a state Senator, he was largely responsible for making English the "Official Language" in Iowa.
He was elected to US Congress in 2002. His record:
. He continually voted for growth and expansion of the Iraq War
. King opposes race based quotas and affirmative action.
. King has stated: “There’s been legislation that’s been brought through this House that sets aside benefits for women and minorities. The only people that it excludes are white men...Pretty soon, white men are going to notice they are the ones being excluded.”
. King voted against the $52 billion Katrina Aid package.
. Democratic Congresswoman Barbara Lee, claimed that King's "campaign of innuendo and unsubstantiated 'concern' is better suited to the era of Joseph McCarthy than today's House of Representatives," King responded that history showed McCarthy to be "a hero for America".
I know the minutemen in san diego were clambering to get Steve King to speak at their BBQ pride fest sponsored by the BPAux we all know and loathe from these articles.
ReplyDeleteDee,
ReplyDeleteIt gets worse.
Neo Nazi sympathizer Russell Pearce of Arizona and one of his toadies are planning a presser at the National Press Club on Jan. 5 to announce his own efforts to circumvent the 14th Amendment. They ain't got a chance of a snowball in hell of success, but this gives us an idea of what we'll be fighting for the next couple of years.
We all need to work to get out the Hispanic vote for 2012 and sends these assklowns back to the ricks they crawled out from under
I note some more of Dee's name calling in the original post. There may be some tinge of racism in King's remarks but in general he is right on the money and all he proposes would be a very positive step forward for America rather than a step backward into Mexico Norte.
ReplyDeleteHow any loyal American can object to Official English and a modification of the 14th Amendment to exclude the offspring of tourists, illegal aliens, visa overstays, temporary migrant farm workers, and other visitors is beyond me.
Republicans care about all voters, moreso than the Democrats and their tribe of so-called progressives and liberals. There is nothing racist about wanting to focus on the border where the problem is the greatest where guns and drugs flow unimpeded in the cover of illegal alien border violations. Republicans would like nothing more than for Hispanics to wake up and realize that what King proposes is in their own enlightened best interests. More cheap labor from south of the border will make it more difficult for those who are already here to get a job and will increase the burdens on society and on the fiscal health of the U,S.
All we need now is for Roy Beck to be named the director of INS or whatever it is called these days and for more immigration judges who say, "If you are here illegally, I direct that you be removed forthwith involuntarily. If you return, you will be classified as a felon and serve hard time."
Also regarding "official English", why don't you call the bill by its true name "Restricting Spanish."
ReplyDeleteCongress has already officially passed a bill proclaiming "English as our National Language." It's done!
However, what this bill will actually do is prohibit the government from printing anything in Spanish (specifically) or any other language, especially Voting documents; it will also prohibit interpreters; King also wants to extend this into the business community.
We ALL know the intent of this bill. Don't try to mask it as anything else!!
What is clear Ultima, is that you and the backwoods yokels at alipca are like-minded. They've already started a string on their discussion board about this post about King.

You ANTIs are so predictable. You call Latinos "cockroaches" and focus your anger towards "south of the border" yet you become angry when we call you "racist."
So typical!
I also find it interesting that you find King's over the top racist hyperbole as being "a tinge of racism." My gosh. He using the term "cockroaches" for Latinos. And YOU call it a "tinge."
ReplyDeleteMy gosh! You all are so like minded!
You want Roy Beck, the head of NumbersUSA, which was named by the Anti-defamation League (ADL) as being a Racist Group, the SAME Roy Beck who is the godson of the racist godfather and founder of the ANTI movement, John Tanton, to be the named the Director of the INS - Immigration & Naturalization Service???? Have you totally lost your mind???? If that happened, you might as well just set up the reservation internment camps now and have every brown person get in line for the next Operation Wetback Trail of Tears leading to Mass Deportation. But I guess that is what your (and Tanton's) ultimate goal is anyway!
