Republican Groups Pushing to End BirthRight Citizenship especially for Latino Children!

Two Republican groups are promoting a Bill to End Birthright Citizenship - the 14th Amendment. The groups wants to force a reinterpretation of the 14th amendment to prevent children of undocumented immigrants from obtaining citizenship, thus removing (in their view) an incentive for people to cross the border illegally.

The two Republican Groups seeking this change are:
1.  the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC)
2.  the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI), the legal arm John Tanton's Hate Group F.A.I.R. IRLI's proposal was written by Romney's Immigration surrogate Kris Kobach.

ALEC has numerous Republican Congress and Big Business members and is infamous for drafting ANTI Minority and ANTI Union = extremist bills for both State and Federal government. Examples include Florida's infamous "Stand your Ground" law (remember Trayvon Martin) and Big Corporation/ANTI-Union bills for various state governments, including Wisconsin.
IRLI's Kris Kobach has a long history of drafting Hate Bills including Arizona's sb1070 and other state ANTI Latino, Racial Profiling bills

ALEC and IRLI's primary reason in this hate-filled crusade is to model a bill that says children must have at least one parent who is a U.S. citizen (or resident alien) in order to be eligible for state citizenship. Their drafted bills, which run contrary to over 100 years of legal precedent, are designed so that legislators could take them back to their home states, work to get them passed, and then get sued with the hope that the case makes it all the way to the Republican Majority Supreme Court which would then overturn that 14th Amendment. This is exactly the same method Republicans used to get the Republican Supreme Court to overturn the "Citizen's United Case." The case in which the Court held that the First Amendment prohibited the government from restricting independent political expenditures by corporations and unions. The Result: They CHANGED the 1st Amendment which safeguarded against "the improper use of money to influence the result [of an election] is to deny to the nation in a vital particular the power of self protection".

When you get right to it, the Republican /Tea Party agenda is based on Racism. They are threatened by the Census Bureau's prediction about a minority majority in the years ahead and are doing all in their power to reduce the number of minorities in our Country, beginning with the President. You see in the racial profiling bills, the voter suppression laws, the destruction of unions, and now changing the 14th amendment.

  1. "Those politicians, judges, and voters who pass law after law trying to stop Mexicans from asserting themselves in this country, are like King Canute commanding the tide to stop" - Gustavo Arellano - Phoenix New Times

History of England : Before England "ruled the waves" "Cnut the Great" ( King Canute ) tried to stop the tides.

Henry of Huntingdon, the 12th-century chronicler, tells how Cnut set his throne by the sea shore and commanded the tide to halt and not wet his feet and robes. Yet "continuing to rise as usual [the tide] dashed over his feet and legs without respect to his royal person.

Cnut the Great in Wikipedia :

    Some excerpts :

Then the king leapt backwards, saying: 'Let all men know how empty and worthless is the power of kings, for there is none worthy of the name, but He whom heaven, earth, and sea obey by eternal laws.' He then hung his gold crown on a crucifix, and never wore it again "to the honour of God the almighty King". This incident is usually misrepresented by popular commentators and politicians as an example of Cnut's arrogance.

This story may be apocryphal. While the contemporary Encomium Emmae has no mention of it, it would seem that so pious a dedication might have been recorded there, since the same source gives an "eye-witness account of his lavish gifts to the monasteries and poor of St Omer when on the way to Rome, and of the tears and breast-beating which accompanied them".[54] Goscelin, writing later in the 11th century, instead has Cnut place his crown on a crucifix at Winchester one Easter, with no mention of the sea, and "with the explanation that the king of kings was more worthy of it than he".

Nevertheless, there may be a "basis of fact, in a planned act of piety" behind this story, and Henry of Huntingdon cites it as an example of the king's "nobleness and greatness of mind." Later historians repeated the story, most of them adjusting it to have Cnut more clearly aware that the tides would not obey him, and staging the scene to rebuke the flattery of his courtiers; and there are earlier Celtic parallels in stories of men who commanded the tides, namely Saint Illtud, Maelgwn, king of Gwynedd, and Tuirbe, of Tuirbe's Strand, in Brittany.

The encounter with the waves is said to have taken place at Thorn-eye (Thorn Island), or Southampton in Hampshire. There were and are numerous islands so named, including at Westminster and Bosham in West Sussex, both places closely associated with Cnut. According to the House of Commons Information Office, Cnut set up a Royal palace during his reign on Thorney Island (later to become known as Westminster) as the area was sufficiently far away from the busy settlement to the east known as London. It is believed that, on this site, Cnut tried to command the tide of the river to prove to his courtiers that they were fools to think that he could command the waves.[99] Conflictingly, a sign on Southampton city centre's Canute Road reads, "Near this spot AD 1028 Canute reproved his courtiers".

  2. What is MOST DANGEROUS is the fact these Racist Groups are looking for a lawsuit so they can take this issue to the Republican LED Supreme Court. They KNOW Congress cannot pass a bill like this, but the Republican LED Supreme Court CAN change the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, as they did with the Citizen's United case..

LATINOS... WE HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO THIS!!!! WE MUST!

LATINOS... ASK ROMNEY TOMORROW.. DOES HE SUPPORT CHANGING THE 14TH AMENDMENT?

    ASK HIM ON MONDAY!
