Why Americans are so Up In Arms AGAINST Chick-fil-A

I've been hearing so much about the Chick-fil-A controversy. The pundits are talking about it. The internet is buzzing about it. People I know are commenting about it on Facebook. Everyone has a different version. Personally, I don't go to Chick-fil-A. However, I was curious about it and decided to find out more.
In January 2011, Chick-fil-A announced their stand against Gay Marriage along with the Pennsylvania Family Institute (PFI), a group that promoted laws and legal action against same sex marriage. They did this on their own, as a political statement. PFI also lobbied to STOP a state bill to BAN discrimination against Gays and Women. Another organization connected to Chick-fil-A through financial support, the WinShape Foundation, announced it would not allow same-sex couples to participate in its marriage retreats.
In response to Chick-fil-A's ANNOUNCEMENT and their connections and millions of dollars of contributions to these ANTI-Gay Hate Groups, students at several colleges and universities initiated petitions, marched and posted Facebook pages to boycott and ban their restaurants from their campuses.
On June 16, 2012, Chick-fil-A's COO, Dan Cathy, made a very inflammatory statement while a guest on a syndicated radio talk show, The Ken Coleman Show. Cathy stated: "I think we are inviting God's JUDGEMENT on our NATION when we shake our fist at Him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage'. I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about."

Cathy's remarks inferring -- THAT GOD WILL STRIKE DOWN OUR COUNTRY IF WE ALLOW SAME SEX MARRIAGE! --  enraged the students and a number of Gay Rights groups. Many students, universities and supporters are now advocating banning their restaurants from campuses.
After studying these events, it is clear that it was Chick-fil-A, a huge Republican Contributor, that stirred up this controversy WHEN THEY MADE THEIR ANNOUNCEMENT last year. It appears this is a political ploy to bring attention to this political wedge issue. AGAIN, it is the Republican ONE percenters attempting to drive their agenda. Personally, I think it is ridiculous that the COO of Chick-fil-A is shoving his agenda down America's throat. Sarah Palin and Rick Santorum are promoting this hate-filled agenda too.

America is the Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.
We are ALL created equal. And no one should discriminate.

Like most Americans, I believe in Marriage and Family. I believe in God. I love America.
I believe we are ALL Created Equal.
We each may choose our partners and love our families.
No one has the right to discriminate against anyone
No one has the right to choose for anyone else who they should marry.
The students and all freedom loving Americans have every right to protest against Chick-fil-A and boycott them if that is what they want to do.

Republicans want to take us down the path of discrimination against Gays, Women and Minorities. They want to end Medicare and Social Security as we know them. They want tax cuts for the rich. They want to demolish Unions. They are also flagrantly using religion as a political tool. They should be ashamed of themselves.
