Republican George Will Says Detroit Go Bankrupt! It's Your Fault! & Begins the Republican War on Minorities!

Let Detroit Go Bankrupt, but only the Black inner city, not the rich, white suburbs. The lines were drawn by Republican Governor Rick Snyder’s appointed Emergency City Financial Manager. The lines were carefully drawn, creating an island, similar to the island drawn by the broken levies around New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.

The people of inner-city Detroit are crying, reaching out for help. Retirees who were the Brave Firefighters, Police and Teachers -- are having their pensions ripped away with Hurricane-like forces, and we see these retirees pleading with their Republican Governor, begging him NOT to steal their promised pensions.

Yet, Republicans across America are patting Governor Snyder on the back and urging him to say NO. Don’t help Detroit. NO. Rip away their Pensions. Let them Suffer. Let them starve! It’s their own DAMN fault. They are greedy. They were in Unions. They voted for the wrong city leaders. Cut them off. That’s what they get. That’s what they deserve.

George Will, the Republican voice, said this loud and clear on Sunday Morning with George Stephanopoulos. Why is George Will saying this? Because this is part of the Republican Strategy for 2014 and 2016. Their plan is to say “To Hell with Minorities and their Vote. WE Don’t Need Their Stinkin' Votes!” Instead, the Republican Plan is to stir up their White Voter base. I’ve heard this over and over on HATE Talk Radio. “We need the 3% of White Voters that voted for George Bush and didn’t vote for Romney to vote in 2014 and 2016."

Here is what George Will said on Sunday Morning with George Stephanopoulos:

"You can't solve the problems because the problems are cultural.  You have a city that's 139 square miles.  You can graze cattle in vast portions of it. Dangerous herds of feral dogs roaming there.  You have 3% of 4th graders reading at the national math standards. 47% of Detroit residents are functionally illiterate. 79% of Detroit children are born to unmarried mothers. They don't have a fiscal problem.  They have a cultural (black) collapse."

Katrina vanden Heuvel: I find that really insulting to the people of Detroit. I think there is a serious discussion to be had in this country about the  future of cities in the time of de-industrialization. But in many ways, Detroit has been a victim of Market Forces... Retirees and Workers should not bear this. And this story should not be hijacked to be about greedy, fiscal public unions and fiscal irresponsibility.

George Will: (Heaves big sigh) ... What did (the people of Detroit) vote for? For 60 years they voted for incompetence, malcontents.

Steve Rattner: So what do you want to do? Leave them in the circumstance you just described, or, in the spirit of America try to help people who are less fortunate, whether victims of natural disaster or reach out to help them, for not a lot of money in the scope of things. (A couple billion vs trillions to Banks/Wall St.) Or your scenario, leave them all sit with feral dogs.?

Juror B29: Zimmerman "Got Away with Murder!"

Juror B29 "Maddy" said today, "George Zimmerman got away with murder. But you can't get away from God. And at the end of the day, he's going to have a lot of questions and answers he has to deal with. But the law couldn't prove it."

Maddy is a 36-year-old Puerto Rican nursing assistant and was the only minority on the six-person jury. She admitted she was the juror who originally wanted to convict Zimmerman of second-degree murder, but eventually relented to the other jurors and said she was convinced the evidence didn't support a guilty verdict with respect to his claim of self-defense.

"I was the juror that was going to give them the hung jury. I fought to the end," she said. "That's where I felt confused, where if a person kills someone, then you get charged for it. But as the law was read to me, if you have no proof that he killed him intentionally, you can't say he's guilty."
She continued, "as much as we were trying to find this man guilty…they give you a booklet that basically tells you the truth, and the truth is that there was nothing that we could do about it. I feel the verdict was already told."

However, as a mother of eight children, Maddy said she wonders if she made the right decision and says she owes Martin's parents an apology. "It's hard for me to sleep, it's hard for me to eat because I feel I was forcefully included in Trayvon Martin's death. And as I carry him on my back, I'm hurting as much as Trayvon's Martin's mother because there's no way that any mother should feel that pain," she said.

Tea Party Republican Steve King Says Dreamers Are Drug Dealers!

Tea Party Republican Steve King makes no secret about his hatred towards "Illeeegals." He also HATES Dreamers.

Last week, King claimed that the majority of Dreamers -- are actively engaged in the drug trade.
"For everyone who's a valedictorian," King claimed, "there's another 100 out there that weigh 130 pounds and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert. Those people would be legalized with the same act."

A Latina Falls to her Death at 6 Flags Due to a Careless Attendant; Websites Blame HER for her Own Death!

I am heart broken.

A Loving Mother, Rosy Esparza, took her children for an outing at 6 Flags on Friday and, due to a careless attendant, she fell to her death.

Early reports indicate the attendant did NOT secure her harness and at the First Huge, Dropping Turn, the harness unclicked and she fell to her death. Her loving children tried to race to her, but they were stopped by attendants. When ambulance attendants arrived, they found she was dead.

Witnesses are saying when Rosy first sat in her seat, the attendant did not "triple click" the safety harness as they did for all other riders. Instead, only 1 click was heard. Witnesses say Rosy asked about the clicks and asked if she would be safe. The careless attendant responded that Rosy would be just fine.

A person waiting in line for the ride who witnessed Rosy falling said she thought Rosy had a problem with her safety belt. “She goes up like this, then when it drops to come down, that’s when it [Rosy's restraint] released and she just tumbled,” Carmen Brown told WFAA-TV.

Another witness 2 seats behind Rosy tweeted: "Literally just witnessed someone fly off the Texas Giant two seats in front of me," Joshua Paul Fleak tweeted. "Restraint came undone, coaster turned and she was gone."

Rosy is dead. When the ride was over, her loving children attempted to rush to Rosy, but they were held back until the ambulance arrived nearly 30 minutes later.

News sites are flooding across America and across the World, reporting about Rosy's death and the careless disregard by the ride attendant.

However, with each news reports, vicious commenters are Attacking Rosy and blaming her for her own Death. They are viciously attacking her for her weight. These commenters are FILLED with HATE and ATTACKS toward Rosy. They ATTACK Rosy for being over-weight,. They DO NOT attack the attendant for not doing their job. They DO NOT attack the attendant for NOT ensuring her safety harness was Triple Clicked. Instead they attack Rosy, a Latina Victim, for Being FAT.

My family and I have frequented this park on a regular basis. I've seen people who ride the rides. There are numerous men who are much taller and heavier than Rosy. The attendants ensured THESE MEN were secure and safely harnessed. However, the attendant who serviced Rosy apparently disregarded Rosy's safety. Obviously they DID NOT CARE what happened to this Latino Mom who carried a few extra pounds.

I know we need to wait the results of the police investigation about this incident, however, since Friday, the internet is FILLED with hate filled comments by HATERS who are attacking Rosy for her size. Let me provide you a few of the hate-filled comments from NY Daily News. It's not just the NY Daily News. Countless websites across the web are attacking Rosy, the victim. Since when is being fat considered normal and OK. The reason we see fat people as disgusting is because genetically we are programmed to look for the best traits to pass on to our progeny. A fat parent usually passes down their lazy behaviors and or (not scientifically proven) genes, and eating habits. We still cant blame genes for fat people because if that were true, you would have seen a larger proportion of fat people going back thousands of years, this is not the case. Fat people are a creation of a lazy, super calorie culture that supports and enables people to essentially be a plant. Everything comes to you, rather than you working towards other ends. I walk over 3 miles a day on top of an exercise regiment and healthy eating. I guarantee if half of the fat people in America took these 3 simple steps, they could cut their obesity in half if not more.

Rand Paul Doesn't Understand Bankruptcy and says Obama Will Bail Out Detroit ‘Over My Dead Body’

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) DOES NOT Understand the Impacts of Bankruptcy and said he will use every resource he has at his disposal to stop President Barack Obama from bailing out newly-bankrupt Detroit because he believes the city can and must save itself and learn from its fiscal mistakes.
“I basically say he [Obama] is bailing them out over my dead body because we don’t have any money in Washington.”

Detroit Bankruptcy: What will Happen Next and Why I'm Worried

Now that Bankruptcy has been declared, Detroit can expect to face what other cities that have declared bankruptcy have experienced.

With bankruptcy, Detroit still has the obligation to attempt to get its fiscal house in order. They still have to balance their budget. They still have to settle the claims of their creditors/claimants. They still have to pay their legal bills. They have to deal with their “Unfunded Liabilities.” Read this to mean Pensions of City Workers.

Expect that Taxes will be raised, not only in Detroit, but across the State, to fund this Bankruptcy.

Bankruptcy protection will bring all parties to the table. This includes Vendors, Claimants, Bankers, City Contractors and Employee Organizations/Unions – for both active City Workers and City Retirees. Hearings will be held presided by an independent third party – a Bankruptcy Judge.  

These groups come to agreement on actions to be taken. Most often, this means:

1.    Determining amounts to be paid to creditors/vendors/bankers

2.    Cutting Pensions

3.    Cutting Services, Layoffs

Bankruptcy results in cutting services. The first thing to go is City Services, Waste Management, shutting down of Maintenance, then the closing of Police and Fire Stations and Shutting down Schools. With these closures, expect massive layoffs for City Workers and Contractors. Paychecks and benefits will be cut. Additionally expect that Retiree Pensions will be Cut/Vastly Reduced.
Roads do not get paved and deteriorate. The city’s capital equipment deteriorates, vehicles break down and are not replaced.

Today, on Meet the Press, Michigan’s Republican Governor, Rick Snyder confirmed all of these next steps. He also said there are 20,000 retirees dependent on Pensions. A portion of their Pensions are unfunded. This is the portion that will be in jeopardy. That is why it is important their representatives are at the Bankruptcy Table.
Snyder said they will look for immediate “Tangible” areas to improve. The first on his list “Blight Removal.”

Following Governor Snyder’s interview, former Governor Jennifer Granholm was interviewed. She did not agree with Snyder. She said what Detroit needs is Jobs. There needs to be a local and National strategy to revive Manufacturing jobs in Detroit and in America. We need Good Middle Class Jobs HERE.
The interviewer asked them both – WHY did Detroit go Bankrupt? Snyder was quick to blame the previous 50 years of (Democratic) Mayors and other State Politicians.
They both said the “Culture of Cronyism” was a factor. Granholm said we bailed out Wall Street and Banks, but we failed to invest in keeping Manufacturing jobs in America, in the urban areas. We have a collapse of the Middle Class. The rich were not impacted. The rich are getting richer and the middle class is becoming poorer. There is a Class Divide and a Race Divide.
As I listened to their interviews, I couldn’t help but think about Ed’s words about Detroit. His first-hand view of the Detroit neighborhood provided the same feedback as I heard on Meet the Press.

1.    Jobs were Gone

2.    Neighborhoods were Decimated

3.    Cronyism was Rampant

4.    Local Business and Local Looters have NO PRIDE in the City

In studying Snyder’s “Blight Removal” strategy, it turns out, this strategy has been in place for a few months now. There is a non-profit group called “Detroit Blight Authority” headed by Bill Pulty IV of Pulte Homes that is clearing areas of the city. This project is supported by Mayor Dave Bing and Governor Snyder. Snyder said this was "bi-partisan" probably because Bing is a Democrat, but I worry about the possible continued cronyism.

I am worried about Detroit.

With this bankruptcy, there will be massive layoffs, the end to the pensions of desperate seniors, more businesses closing, massive foreclosures, more blight across the city and Governor Snyder’s BIG PLAN is “Blight Removal.” In a way, this program reminds me of what ultimately happened to New Orleans after Katrina.

Detroit In Bankruptcy! Root Causes!

I retired from AT&T after 40 years. Afterwards, I  became a retirement Consultant. I speak to my clients every day about their retirement investments. This week, I spoke to someone about Detroit.

Ed and I spoke about Detroit's bankruptcy. He said he visited a friend in Detroit and now he totally understands why Detroit is bankrupt and he doesn't think there is any chance for Detroit's recovery. Ed is a very successful businessman from Chicago and has substantial wealth. 

Ed visited one of his former colleagues (and friend) from Detroit who also has substantial savings. His friend had previously lived in Detroit and being nostalgic, decided to purchase a home that had once been in a wealthy neighborhood. He purchased it for less than half price. His friend thought he had a great deal in the purchase of his new Detroit home. He purchased it for $200K. Two years earlier, it was listed for $500K. The area had been a wealthy, upper middle class neighborhood. The houses were statuesque.

When Ed visited, he was shocked. He recognized that all the homes in the previously upscale neighborhood were built with quality. They had been large, stately mansions. However, two thirds of the homes were vacant. Many of these vacant homes were ravaged. They were once stately, but now, they were raided. Their copper pipes and contents of the home were vandalized. As new investors attempting to rebuild, their homes were raided on a nightly basis. Ed's friend said he was also vandalized and was forced to hire security to watch his home at night as it was being rebuilt. Ed's friend was spending twice the home's worth just to get it back in shape.

Ed said he thought there was NO HOPE for his friend's success in rebuilding his home. No One could rebuild under these conditions. Ed knew that there were several investors attempting to rebuild but they didn't have a chance. They were doomed to bankruptcy. Detroit was doomed to disaster.

Ed begged his friend to cut his losses. He begged him to leave Detroit. His friend said he wasn't giving up. Ed lamented that housing wasn't the only problem.

Ed said that Big Business was a huge problem. He said the biggest problem with Detroit was the fact that the jobs that once made them a success were now being exported overseas or to other states. The Car Companies, even though they receive huge government support, did NOT bring their jobs back to Detroit. Instead they went to the suburbs or to other states. There was absolutely NO COMMITMENT to bringing jobs back to Detroit. 3/5ths of the jobs LEFT Detroit all to go offshore or to suburbs or other states. No One looked to save Detroit jobs.

Ed also said many people in political positions were not fighting to save Detroit. Instead, there were fighting to save their own salaries. He lamented that this was particularly a problem for those in political positions and in government jobs. He said those in political offices earned pensions for working a 2 year job. People who served as a Congressman or Senator earned a pension for each job. Those in various Federal and State positions were doing the same. These were the people in power. Of course none of them would do anything to do away with any of their job titles or pensions.

Finally, he said, the people in Detroit didn't have any pride in Detroit. Those in the neighborhoods were decimating those few people attempting to revive Detroit. But the problem was two fold. It wasn't only the people looting the homes of the re-builders, it was ALSO those businesses purchasing the Copper Pipe and other building materials from the looted homes. He was almost crying at this point. WHY WERE THE SMALL BUSINESS PEOPLE who had so much to gain from the rebuilding of Detroit BUYING the obviously Stolen Materials (like Copper Pipe) from the Looters?

Ed doesn't think there is any hope for Detroit.

I think there has to be a solution. However, before there can be a solution, the people of Detroit, the people of Michigan and the people of America MUST UNDERSTAND the Issues.

I Love Detroit and am Saddened by their Looming Bankruptcy

Detroit has gone bankrupt. I have always Loved Detroit. I have known it as such a vital city, a city that helped me grow up and understand the world.

I was born in Michigan.

Back in 1978, I worked in Detroit. I began my career in Lansing. I had worked hard and was promoted to a Manager position. All I had to do (besides my exceptional work performance) to become a permanent managers was to relocate to Detroit. I accepted. I was single. I was "That Girl."

Detroit was so different than Lansing. Lansing was the Capital, but it was still a small town, like Mayberry. Detroit was the "Big Time." I was a naive, little manager. I accepted. I said, "Yes. I'll be a manager in your downtown office." I worked for AT&T. I could do anything. Afterall, I was "That Girl!"

I was in for a rude awakening. When I was relocated to Detroit, I wasn't in downtown Kansas anymore. I was a little girl in the Big City.

Downtown Detroit was alive! It wasn't Lansing.
Downtown Detroit LIVED and BREATHED much like Downtown New York or Chicago. (where I later worked.)
I worked downtown on 1365 Cass Avenue.
My company relocated me. They paid for my stay at the grand Hotel Pontchartrain. (And the Renaissance Center, and the Michigan Inn.) There I was, this poor little migrant worker, little Mexican-American girl. I studied hard. I worked hard. I was promoted. Then relocated to the Big Time! I was a baby, being born to the "Big Time."
When going to dinner at the Hotel, I didn't even know which spoon to use or that the small bowl with a small towel was meant to wash your fingers before dinner.

I walked into my first day on my new job a Virgin. I was Opie. My small home-town office, with home town people, serviced other small town people. All so polite. All so naïve. Now, as a novice manager in my early 20s, I had NO IDEA what I was getting into.

I learned quickly. I had to. It was Baptism by Fire!
People spoke differently in DE-Troit. Operators spoke differently in DE-Troit. Customer Service and Sales were TOTALLY different in DE-Troit!! I learned this quickly.

No one kissed ANYONE's Ass in DE-Troit. People told it like it was. Service was saying What It Was. Business People wanted what they wanted now. Now! NOW!!! And our Operator's provided Sales, Service and Gave It Right Back to Them.

I had NO IDEA what I was getting in to at all. But I quickly learned.

I changed when I was in DE-Troit.
I grew up.

I quickly learned how to Adapt. How to survive from Day to Day. How to THRIVE in this Charged environment. How to Succeed. How to Win!

I quickly learned the City of DE-Troit was ALIVE! It Breathed. It's Chest heaved Up and Down!

The city had grown with the Auto Industry. It evolved through the 60s riots. It re-vitalized itself and re-invigorated it's downtown through Urban Renewal by the time I got there in the late seventies.

I was a Virgin when I went to DE-Troit. I don't mean that physically. I mean that from a business perspective. When I was a Manager in DE-Troit, I had to learn a whole new style. I had to learn an entirely new perspective. What I thought was rude wasn't rude. What I thought was business wasn't business. I grew up in la-la America. Sweet. Docile. Naïve.

In DE-Troit, however, this was the REAL America. People Argued. People Fought. People Differed in Opinion. People were Rich. People were Poor. Some people had power. Some people had none. We in Sales and Service treated Everyone the Same but we didn't take Guff from Anyone. But, we did need to know our Facts. We did need to stand up for ourselves. No more cow-towing or kissing anyone's Ass.

Where My Dad taught me so much discipline about completing my Education, maintaining a Hard Work ethic and a realistic view of being a Minority in America, what he Didn't Teach Me was the day to day reality of how to succeed in Business in America. Working in DE-Troit taught me this.

As I said, DE-Troit was ALIVE! Everything -- EVERYTHING happened in DE-Troit. Even going to lunch was an adventure. A few of us Managers went out to lunch every day. There was a little deli across the street with the best Hamburgers in the world. There were several downtown restaurants. And some of them in Windsor, which was just across the Bridge. Sometimes, we all went to Tiger Stadium together. We were all beautiful, young girls. We sat close to the dugout. The players always sought us out as we pleaded for their autographs.  I remember the famous 3rd baseman Aurelio Rodriguez, who NEVER signed autographs for anyone, signed my book. My girlfriends who frequented the park were in awe. He was so nice and polite to me. However, when I showed my future husband his autograph, somehow my autograph disappeared.

I found a wonderful apartment on 8 mile. Every other weekend, I drove back to Lansing to visit my boyfriend (future husband).

While I was in DE-Troit, my boyfriend decided that he couldn't stand me being so far away from him, so he asked me to marry him. I accepted. I was able to get a transfer back to Lansing, and we married the following August.

I always think fondly of Detroit.

I'm going to write more about Detroit because I have so many fond memories of the city.
I've been studying the impacts of the so-called bankruptcy and the plans being put in place by the Republican Governor. I think he is wrong. I will explain why in my next blog about this topic.

Regardless of Our Differences, I am Confident of the Future of America! May God Bless America! May God Bless OUR President Barack Obama!

I've been thinking so much about the Trayvon Martin case, the state of Minorities in America, the dysfunction in Congress, Edward Snowden, the media, the leaks, so much division.

At the same time the Nation is evolving. More and more we are becoming a multi cultural, multi racial America. We are evolving to an America where race, ethnicity, age, sexual preference, gender doesn't matter at all.

I do believe our country has evolved, regardless what the extremists believe.

I still think we have the Best Country in the World.
I still believe that the American Dream is possible.
I still believe that you, me -- each of us -- can achieve the American Dream.

Boycott Florida! Boycott ANY State that Passes the Stand Your Ground Law!

As  grandmother, I am so saddened by what I am seeing following the Trayvon Martin Murder Case. Now the Jurors are beginning to provide us the behind the scenes happenings as to why they made their "Not Guilty" decision. What they are revealing is Mind Boggling. It is proving my greatest fear. Children, especially children of color, are NOT Safe in our society.

All Humanitarians in our Country should BOYCOTT Florida! We should Stand Strong and ensure that Florida LISTENS to our Message. The only method they understand is through their Pocket Books. That means we must BOYCOTT FLORIDA! Don't Vacation There. Don't shop on line there. Stop Funding Florida and their Racial Profiling Ways!

White Juror B37 (part of an All White jury) was on CNN last night and told us what all the White Jurors thought as they made their decision about the Trayvon Murder case. Her interview makes it abundantly clear that the jury was NOT properly selected. They were ALL biased against minorities.

White Juror B37 sympathized with "George." They believed "George" when he claimed Trayvon Martin attacked him. ALL of the White Jurors disregarded the testimony of Trayvon's friend Rachel Jeantel. Juror B37 said she NEVER BELIEVED Jenteal. She said she thought she was NOT credible.  She said (in a very patronizing way) that she "felt sorry" for Jeantel. She was "inarticulate." She didn't understand Jeantel. (Of course Juror B37 is very rich and has a rich lawyer husband.)

Juror B37 related to "George" as she continued, "I think George is a man whose heart was in the right place, but just got displaced by the vandalism in the neighborhoods, and wanted to "Catch Them!"

Juror B37 added, "But I think his heart was in the right place. It just went terribly wrong." If anything, George was guilty of not using "good judgment," she said.

"When he was in the car, and he had called 911, he shouldn't have gotten out of that car," she said.

She also said she believes Martin threw the first punch in the confrontation that followed.

"I think George got in a little bit too deep, which he shouldn't have been there. But Trayvon decided that he wasn't going to let him scare him ... and I think Trayvon got mad and attacked him," she said.

White Juror B37 said "George" felt his life was in danger before shooting Martin, and she felt it was "George's voice" that was heard screaming for help in 911 calls, the juror said she believes. "He (George) had a right to defend himself," she said. "If he felt threatened that his life was going to be taken away from him, or he was going to have bodily harm, he had a right."

 

It is very clear. Juror B37, one of the Jurors who supposedly was one of the 3 who initially wanted to convict Zimmerman, is a White Elitist who DOES NOT and CAN NOT relate to minorities. She admittedly TOTALLY DISREGARDED the testimony of Rachel Jeantel. She couldn't even understand her. Instead, she and ALL OTHER WHITE JURORS Immediately Related to George Zimmerman.

 

I blame Juror B37 and ALL OTHER racist jurors being on the jury -- for the Verdict.

It is very clear. The Defense CONNECTED with the Lilly White Racist Jurors.

It is also very clear that the Prosecution wanted this Trial OFF of Their List.

They treated this trial as a checklist.

They wanted this case OFF of their trial list. They wanted this OVER.

The Prosecution did get this trial "over!"

Unfortunabely, a child is DEAD and the Killer is walking the street. "George" also received his gun back.

 

As A Grandmother, I DO NOT Support the "Not Guilty" Verdict. It is Time for Zimmerman to be Charged and Found Guilty for his HATE Crimes!

I  am so saddened by the results of the Trayvon Martin case.
A young boy was killed. He died. He just went to the store. He bought skittles and an iced tea. He was just doors away from his Dad's condo.
Then a neighborhood watch vigilante racial profiled him.
I listened to the 911 call.
Zimmerman: Suspicious Guy. Looks like he's up to no good. On drugs.. Looks Black. Wearing Dark Hoodie and tennis shoes. He's near the clubhouse. He's ... AND he's a Black Male. Button on his shirt. Somethings WRONG with him. He's got something in his hands. This asshole. They always get away. When you come to the clubhouse....Shit .. he's running. Entrance of neighborhood. Back entrance.
... 911 Operator: Are you following him? We don't need you to do that.

It is clear, by the 911 call alone, that Zimmerman racially profiled Trayvon. I truly believe this was a Hate Crime.

The Prosecution did a poor job. Very Poor. They didn't argue the evidence. They never explored the racial aspect at all. It is clear Zimmerman racially profiled 17 year old Trayvon. That's why he followed him. That's why he disobeyed the 911 operator's direction NOT to follow.

Zimmerman's lawyers successfully argued that Zimmerman was afraid and responded with a gunshot. But tell me, how can a grown adult with a gun be afraid of a 17 year old child? How on earth is that possible?

George Zimmerman said TWICE on the 911 call: "Black Male" "Black Male." He added on "Up to No Good." "On Drugs." How could Zimmerman know this? How? And WHY is it justification for shooting a 17 year old.

The 911 tape tells us Zimmerman followed Trayvon. The 911 operator told him NOT to follow. Zimmerman refused to listen and continued to follow.

We don't know what happened next. All we have are Zimmerman's words. He lied several times to the police, changing his story several times. And now, WE THE PEOPLE are told to believe him. I don't.

I suspect that Zimmerman ran up on Trayvon. Trayvon turned around. They scuffled. And Zimmerman shot him dead, in the chest.

What is interesting now is that Zimmerman now has his gun back.
The Far Right Wing is CHEERING the verdict. Ann Coulter said, "Hallelujah."
The Tea Party Republicans, Fox News, Talk Radio, all those that HATE President Obama -- are cheering and applauding the verdict.

All those that support this verdict, I ask you:
-- If it was your 14 or 17 or 20 year old son or grandson who was walking home from the store, who just bought skittles and an iced tea-- that was visiting you for the weekend. If a George Zimmerman shot your son/grandson because Zimmerman thought he looked suspicious, would YOU Support the VERDICT?

Murder of Trayvon Martin similar to Murder of Luis Ramirez. DOJ should File same Federal Charges against Zimmerman!

If the NAACP is successful with their petition to have the Department of Justice file Federal Civil Rights Murder Charges against Zimmerman, the DOJ may use the same approach used in the Federal Trial against Brandon Piekarsky and Donchak when they killed Luis Ramirez in Shenandoah, PA on July 12, 2008. (I wrote about the trial extensively from 2008 - 2011 -- see here).

Though Piekarsky and Donchak were found Not Guilty of murder charges by their local court, the DOJ filed Federal Charges and they were found Guilty of their crimes. Here are the charges by the Federal Court:

"Brandon Piekarsky and Derrick Donchak were convicted in federal court for the brutal beating and eventual death of Luis Ramirez, a resident of the Defendants’ town.  The Defendants were charged with criminal violation of the Fair Housing Act, 42 U.S.C. § 3631, which penalizes actions taken against an individual on account of his race, color or national origin, and with the specific intent to intimidate the victim or others like him from exercising their right to housing free of discrimination."

Ramirez was walking through a Park, walking his friend home when he was attacked. Like Ramirez, Trayvon was walking in his Father's subdivision on his way home from the store. The 911 tape shows Zimmerman calling Trayvon names.  According to the 911 tape:

This is so similar to the Luis Ramirez Murder case. The local court found Piekarsky and Donchak Not Guilty of Murder Charges. The DOJ found them Guilty of "Criminal Violation of the Fair Housing Act, 42 U.S.C. § 3631."

NAACP Petitions DOJ to Charge Killer Zimmerman with Federal Charges!

The NAACP, the National Action Network and several other Civil Rights organizations are petitioning the DOJ to file Civil Rights Murder Charges against Trayvon Martin's Killer, George Zimmerman. Reverend Sharpton has also said Federal Hate Crime charges are being considered. Additionally, the Martin Family is considering filing a Civil Law Suit.
Buzzfeed.com reports: The NAACP, the nation’s oldest civil rights organization, saw a massive, instant response to a petition Saturday night urging the Department of Justice to open a civil rights case against George Zimmerman, who was cleared of all criminal charges in the shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
The petition gained more than 115,000 signatures in about three hours, NAACP spokesman Eric Wingerter told BuzzFeed.
The appeal asks Attorney General Eric Holder to “address the travesties of the tragic death of Trayvon Martin by acting today” and press civil rights charges against Zimmerman, who shot an unarmed Martin last February in what he said was an act of self-defense.
“The Department of Justice has closely monitored the State of Florida’s prosecution of the case against George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin murder since it began,” the petition reads.
“The most fundamental of civil rights — the right to life — was violated the night George Zimmerman stalked and then took the life of Trayvon Martin,” the appeal goes on. “We ask that the Department of Justice file civil rights charges against Mr. Zimmerman for this egregious violation.”
The NAACP, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, posted the petition around 10:30 p.m., just a half an hour after the Florida jury reached its not-guilty verdict in the Zimmerman trial. Within the first hour of its publication online, the petition garnered 57,600 signatures, according to Wingerter.
In his own statement earlier Saturday evening, NAACP President Benjamin Jealous said the group was “outraged and heartbroken over today’s verdict.”
“We will pursue civil rights charges with the Department of Justice, we will continue to fight for the removal of Stand Your Ground laws in every state, and we will not rest until racial profiling in all its forms is outlawed,” Jealous said.

For those that are defending George Zimmerman, the man who Killed a young teenager, Trayvon Martin, please look at the picture of the young, dead teenager. The prosecutor showed them to the jury on Friday. The media hasn't shown them until now.

While the right wing media is attempting to portray young Trayvon as a black thug who attacked Zimmerman, the pictures tell what actually happened.

Young Trayvon was coming home from the store going to his Dad's apartment a few doors down.
He wore skinny jeans and a gray hoodie.

So young. So innocent.
Shot dead. He lay on the grass.
No blood on him.
No scratched up fists.
No sweat pouring down.
Not scary looking. Just an innocent young boy, walking home. Shot dead on his way home.

An "Old Man's View" of the Trayvon Martin Murder Case

Now that the jury is deliberating, I'm sharing "An Old Man's View" of the Trayvon Martin Murder Case:

We Need to Inform and Prepare Ourselves for the Baby Boomer Retirement Era and for a Better Tomorrow! (Reprint from 2012)

The Baby Boomers are aging and it is critically important that we understand the approaching New Era. The Baby Boomer generation was born between 1946 and 1964. With an average of 4 Million born per year, the total is about 78 million Americans. They grew up with Elvis, the Beatles and Disco. They experienced Vietnam, Civil Rights, Equal Rights and Freedom. Now, they are approaching retirement. The first wave turned 65 in 2011. They all will turn 65 between 2011 and 2029.

With life expectancy in America being 75 for men and 80 for women, the majority of baby boomers will die between 2026 and 2044. As our Boomer generation is entering into this stage, it is also important to understand other statistics.

Five Statistics about American Baby Boomers that will Shock You: 1. 40% of Americans do not contribute to a voluntary Retirement Savings Plan nor do they have a Traditional Pension Plan(Employer Funded). This is primarily due to the fact that since the Reagan years, the majority of Businesses no longer provide the Traditional Pension Plan. Instead they offer voluntary retirement savings plans. Additionally, 50% of those with voluntary Retirement Savings Plan access (borrow/withdraw) and often deplete these funds prior to retirement.
2. 40 - 50% of people currently on Social Security rely ENTIRELY on their social security payments as their SOLE income.
3. 70 - 75% of Americans today start claiming social security at 62, the earliest moment they are eligible, many because they do not have any other income.
4. 25 - 40% of Boomers SAY they are postponing their retirement and plan on continuing to work "until they drop" because they do not want to rely on social security as their sole means of income.
5. Studies indicate that after age 65, those that retire at 55 have a 40% higher risk of death than their counterparts that retire at 65.

Illness After Retirement and Healthcare: Let's think about these numbers. When you retire, most people only have about 10 - 15 years left to live. When you stop working, you are more likely to become ill and require healthcare. The top 5 causes of death of the elderly in America are:
1.Heart Disease 2.Cancer 3.Lower Respiratory Disease 4.Diabetes 5.Alzheimers
Hospitalizations of the elderly for these illnesses are extensive and costly.

Look at the chart. From 2020 - 2040, we will have massive numbers of retired Baby Boomers who will rely entirely upon Social Security as their primary source of income. Many/most of these retirees will experience chronic illnesses, particularly the Top 5 illnesses listed. Who will care for these impoverished, ill, elderly Americans? Many will not be able to take care of themselves. We only have about 10 years to think about this before we suffer the severe impact of this crisis.

In 2012, we are at a Crossroads. The Republicans have already announced their plan. However, there is another choice: 1. The Republican Choice - Hysteria: We can Cut, Cut, Cut. We can CUT Social Security and we can CUT Medicare as the Republicans are advocating. We can let the Baby Boomer retirees fend for themselves and ship them off to ill-equipped "old folks homes" as we did before and during the Big Depression, prior to Social Security and Medicare.

2. The Better Choice - A Plan for a Better Tomorrow: Let's HONOR our Seniors!
We cannot allow the Republican scare tactics to drive us into a deeper hole in the future. What we can do is think about the needs of our elderly. Within the next few years, we are going to face severe Labor shortages. We need to refocus on Education in our Country and provide incentives for those that major in the needed jobs of tomorrow. Additionally, instead of allowing restrictionists to DRIVE OFF FUTURE IMMIGRANTS, we need to figure out how to increase the number of new immigrants we are going to need to staff the jobs of tomorrow.

AMERICAN JOBS NEEDED from 2020 - 2050:
. Healthcare: Hospital workers, Doctors, Nurses, Home Care, Hospice; Hospital Equipment; Administration; Food Service
. Pharmaceuticals: Pharmacists, Product & Development, Production
. Insurance: Administration, Sales, Service
. Investment, Retirement Wealth Management: Administration, Sales, Service
. Housing: Retirement Homes; Apartments for the elderly
. Energy: since more people will be living (illness)/working from home
. Innovation: Product Development for items critical to the elderly
. Call Center Workers for each of these industries
. Small Businesses specializing in care for the elderly (There will be incredible opportunities for entrepreneurs)
These jobs cannot be outsourced. These jobs will remain in the U.S. because the elderly live here. We also must remember: these on-shore American jobs will all pay Income Taxes and Social Security taxes. They will replenish the funds where they are needed most. These jobs will create more jobs. There will be plenty of room for Innovation, Product Development, Customer Service and Manufacturing too. There will be plenty of sources for new income. The Boomer Retirement Era will move us out of our current economic crisis and into a new stage of prosperity for America. That is, if we understand what our future holds in store for us and plan for the needs of our Seniors. We cannot cut them off from their Social Security and Medicare. Instead, we should plan for a better future for all of us as we head into a brighter tomorrow.
President Obama, I ask you to deliver this message to the American Public. Help us all understand what the future holds in store for us and help us understand that TOGETHER we will all prepare ourselves for a better tomorrow!

Love Your Grandma and Let's VOW to allow Social Security and Medicare to CARE for our Senior Citizens!!

As a consultant, I speak to American Seniors every day.
We talk about their current status. We talk about Social Security. Have they gone to SSA.gov to obtain their estimated view of their Social Security payments at 62, 66 and 70? Have they started tracking their budget – their expenses vs. their income? Do they have any retirement savings? Do they have ANY PLANS if Social Security should go away tomorrow?

It is always interesting to have this discussion. Most Americans DO NOT have a plan if Social Security should go away. In fact, over 50% of Americans do NOT have a retirement plan nor retirement savings and RELY completely on Social Security AND Medicare for their retirement needs.

Today, most people on Social Security are paid between $1000 - $2000 a month. Most have paid into Social Security ALL of their lives. MOST view Social Security as their Retirement Plan, since they have paid into it through their payroll ALL of their working lives. I don’t know of ANY Americans (who have paid into Social Security via their payroll for more than 10 years) who view Social Security as an “Entitlement.”
Over the next 20 years, as the Baby Boomers achieve retirement age, we will have the Highest Rate of American Seniors relying on Social Security as their primary source of income.

What is going to happen if a Republican is elected into office and successfully ENDS Social Security and Medicare? What will happen to the 50% of American Seniors that RELY on Social Security and Medicare as their Sole Source of Sustenance?

The ONLY PEOPLE that want to END Social Security are Republicans who CARE NOTHING about our Seniors!
I ask ALL Caring Americans to be ever vigilante and VOW to allow Social Security and Medicare to CARE for our Senior Citizens!!  Please Care for your Grandparents through Social Security AND Medicare! They have Paid Into this program ALL of Their Lives!

As I've often said, I LOVE AMERICA!
Many of my viewers, particularly the ANTIs, often ask me, "Why do you have these pictures?" "Why do they say 'I am an American?'" "The girls look Latino AND Asian. What are you saying?"

I always respond. These pictures depict the Real America. Our Evolving America. These are Beautiful, Multi-Cultural Americans. These are 1st generation Americans of every, beautiful ethnicity. My family is Latino, Black, White, Asian, Native American. So is America!

The ANTI's call the multi-cultural American Babies -- "Anchor Babies." The ANTI's denigrate them. They chastise them. They have made several efforts to introduce NEW LAWS to change the 14th Amendment -- the Birthright Citizenship Laws. The ANTI's talk about supporting the Rule of Law -- But Only Laws they AGREE with, not laws, like the 14th Amendment and the current Birthright Citizenship laws that they strive to change. The ANTI's chastise these Beautiful, Multi-cultural Faces! They DEMAND a Change to the 14th Amendment! How Un-American!

These same ANTI's are now present in the Right Wing Extremist Tea Party groups that are AGAINST the Immigration Reform Laws. These groups are Demanding a 2000 mile fence, a Change to the 14th Amendment, and English Only laws.

We True Americans understand what they are doing. Their Motivation is STRICTLY based on their racial biases.

Republicans Against Immigration Reform say they Don't Need Latino Votes, Just More White Votes!

More and more Tea Party Republicans are saying they are Against Passing Comprehensive Immigration Reform and they DO NOT need the Latino Vote. Instead, they are starting a movement to increase the White - ANTI-Latino Vote!

TPM Memo reports:
Fox News anchor Brit Hume called "baloney" Monday on the notion that House Republicans must help approve the immigration reform legislation that just passed the Senate, arguing that Hispanic voters are still not as important to the GOP as white voters.
The right-leaning Hume was responding to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who warned Sunday that Republicans may never win another presidential election if they don't help pass immigration reform.
"And I am absolutely convinced that this trope that you’re hearing that says that if the Republicans don’t go for immigration reform much as the Senate has done, they’ll never win another presidential election. Oh, baloney," Hume said during an appearance on the conservative cable news channel. "If you look at the statistics, you find there was one significant bloc of voters who turned out in smaller numbers this time in a major way — way below expectations, below even their '08 turnout — and that was white voters. Now, that doesn’t mean that if they turned out that Romney would have gotten them all but it shows you that this Hispanic vote, which is I think now 8.5 percent of the electorate or something like that, is not nearly as important as, still, as the white vote, which is above 70 percent."
Hume added, "So, if you look at it from an ethnic point of view, that addresses the question of whether you need to get right with the Hispanics."

This is NOT a new idea. This "Promote the White Vote" was initially reported on the Hate website "VDARE" in November, 2000.

Here at VDARE, we've discussed repeatedly how dire will be the long-term impact of immigration on the Republican Party. It's crucial to understand, however, that the long-term has not quite arrived. The GOP is not yet held hostage. It still has a window of opportunity - definitely stretching through the next recession but maybe not to the recession after that - to save itself by changing the immigration laws.... picked up an additional 3 percent of the white vote? The most obvious source: white union families. The 26% of the electorate with a union member in their households voted 59% to 37% for Gore. For the time being, most union families are still white. So if Bush could have won enough white labor families to raise his total labor vote from 37% to about 46%, that would have done the trick of lifting his share of the white vote from 54% to 57%.
