Are the President and Chuck Schumer saying they Support a Piece Meal Approach to Immigration Reform? THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

Oh My Gosh!!
Articles I am reading are saying that the President AND Chuck Schumer from the Gang of 8 are saying they are supporting the GOP House of Reps in passing a Piece Meal Approach to Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

According to GOPUSA Articles: Sen. Chuck Schumer said he'd support the Republican-led House's piecemeal approach to U.S. immigration reform, provided it offered a path to citizenship. "We would much prefer a big comprehensive bill, but any way that the House can get there is OK by us," the New York Democrat told CNN. "I actually am optimistic that we will get this done." Schumer, a leader of the bipartisan "Gang of Eight" senators whose comprehensive immigration-reform legislation passed the Senate in June, said he'd "had a lot of discussions with various members of both parties in the House. Things are moving in the right direction. "The initial reaction was the House isn't going to take up any bill," Schumer added. "That would have been very bad -- no bill. Now, they're doing it in pieces. A couple of their pieces are very similar to our bill."

If Schumer bothered to read the PRESS of the House GOP's Piece Meal Version of Immigration Reform, he'd know that Piece Meal means passing ONE Step at a Time.
Step One: Enforcing Current Law = Mass Deportation, ICE Raids and Racial Profiling Enforcement Sweeps
Step Two: 2,000 Mile Electronic Fence,
Step Three: Changing the 14th BirthRight Citizenship Laws
Step Four: English Only

Around Step 18 or 20, they begin to think about the possibility of Legalization, but that, from their perspective, is years and years down the road, IF EVER.

IF the President and Schumer are Truly Considering this, THEY NEED TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD. THIS IS NOT, NOT, NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

The President Provides a Few Details about his Impending Proposal for CIR

President Obama briefly spoke about Immigration Reform before a group of students in Las Vegas today.

The President didn't go into detail. He barely touched on the subject.
While I was hoping for more detail, here are the topics he touched upon.

The President's major point: If the bipartisan committee doesn't move forward quickly with their plan, he will quickly advance his own proposal, particular Directly to the American Public:

OBAMA’S IMMIGRATION REFORM SPEECH
1.        Border Security
Boots on ground southern border. Stay focused
2.        Enforcement Efforts
Deportations at all time low
3.        Dreamer Policy

STARTED AND ONGOING…… NOW

1.        Pathway to Citizenship
a.        Background checks
b.        Pay taxes & penalty
c.        Learn English
d.        Go to back of line ; not quick but fair
2.        Improve/update Immigration Process
a.        Streamline immigration
b.        Reduce backlog
c.        Fast track for best and brightest

Over the days ahead, I will provide a gentle comparison between the President's and the Group of 8's plan. All of the Latino Community is hoping they will work together and pass a workable CIR solution.

However my BIG ARTICLE later this week will be to provide you with the Far Right Extremists' strategy to attack BOTH Plans! These extremists have already laid out their devious course. ALSO, the KEY ARCHITECTS for their  heinous plans have already revealed themselves. Their cast of characters is long and deep. You already know who they are. Their strategy, however, is a bit unique and many in the media are unaware. It will be VERY FUN EXPOSING these FAR RIGHT Zealots,.

Immigration 2013: President Obama, McCain and Group of Six Will Propose ONE BILL which includes Path to Citizenship

President Obama is travelling to Las Vegas on Tuesday and is set to begin his push for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. The White House said, "The President will be traveling to Nevada on Tuesday to redouble the Administration's efforts to work with Congress to fix the broken immigration system this year." President Obama's public campaign is to build support for ONE comprehensive immigration package that will include a pathway to citizenship for the country’s 11 million undocumented immigrants.

Meanwhile, a bipartisan group of six senators also plans to release a detailed framework laying out their principals for ONE bill as soon as the end of this week. Senators include: Democrats Charles Schumer of New York, Dick Durbin of Illinois and Robert Menendez of New Jersey; and Republicans John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Marco Rubio of Florida,

On ABC's "This Week" John McCain said, "We can't go on forever with 11 million people living in this country in the shadows in an illegal status. We cannot forever have children who were born here -- who were brought here by their parents when they were small children to live in the shadows, as well." McCain has changed his view since his campaign days where he was opposed to "Amnesty" because he wanted the support of the far right wing. When asked why he had this change of view, McCain responded, "Look at the last election. We are losing dramatically the Hispanic vote, which we think should be ours, for a variety of reasons, and we've got to understand that."

On Fox News Sunday, Sen. Menendez said that "family unification" would be a high priority in any plan, which he said would include Dream Act legislation to provide undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children with a path to citizenship.

With Durbin, Menendez and McCain appearing on Sunday Talk Shows today, all supporting ONE Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill which includes a Pathway to Citizenship and Passage of the DREAM ACT - with citizenship, it will be interesting to see how Marco Rubio explains this approach to his friends in the extreme right wing/Tea Party and Talk Radio. Last week, he told them his recommendations were for a Piece Meal approach and pathway to legalization without citizenship. These changes will certainly anger them. Stay tuned for their attacks against our President AND the Gang of Six, especially Rubio if he supports this plan.

President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were sworn in today (officially yesterday) by Chief Justice Roberts and Latina Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor in front of a hundred thousand cheering Americans!
It was a glorious ceremony.

Richard Blanco, the son of Cuban exiles, was the first Latino inaugural poet. Actress Eva Longoria led a Latino tribute to Obama that featured top Hispanic entertainers Sunday night.
"It all shows the power of Latinos in the country and how they're finally being recognized as movers and shakers," said Mryna Orozco, 22, an inauguration attendee from Kansas City, Mo.

Time for Centrist Republicans to Take Their Party Back and Partner with Our President!

Many Republicans are angry over the results of our Presidential Election. They are fighting amongst themselves, blaming this group or that group for their loss. They blame Romney for his gaffs, including "the 47%" and "Binders full of Women" statements. They blame Grover Norquist for his Anti Tax for the Wealthy Pledge. They blame the Tea Party for their "Far Right Wing" agenda. They blame Donald Trump, Orly Tatz, and the Birther Agenda. They blame Sheriff Arpaio, Jan Brewer, NumbersUSA/FAIR and their ANTI Latino, Racial Profiling agenda. They blame Fox News, Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. They blame Karl Rove, the Koch Brothers, Adelson and their billionaire fund raiser groups. They blame Paul Ryan for his "Voucher Program for Medicare." They blame all the in-fighting that occurred during the GOP Presidential debates, especially Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Gingrich and Bachmann. They blame Talk Radio, including Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck for their angry rhetoric. They blame NJ Governor Chris Christie for sidling up to President Obama after Hurricane Sandy. (plus they blame Hurricane Sandy). They blame Akin and Mourdock for their war on women. They blame Donald Trump, the Koch Brothers, Adelson and Poppa John - the rich billionaires and Big Business, who spouted their hatred of our President. On and on the blame goes.
The truth is, they are all correct. Republicans led a deplorable campaign full of anger and hatred against our President, against the Democratic Party. They pushed forward their Republican policies against minorities and women, . The majority of the American Public -- 53% -- detested their tactics and voted against them.

Today, as we are facing the Fiscal Cliff, many mainstream Republicans are taking a stand. Many Republican Senators are saying NO to Grover Norquist and his No Tax Pledge.

It is time for the More Centrist Republicans to take their party back. They should:
. Accept the ever changing demographics of our Multi Cultural, All Inclusive America
. Partner with our President to Raise the Tax Rates for the richest 2 % and avoid the Fiscal Cliff
. Work with our President to Pass the Dream Act and Comprehensive Immigration Reform
. Work in a bi partisan way so that All Americans have the opportunity to Achieve the American Dream, through Education, Jobs and Improvements in our Economy
. Support our President, Diplomacy and help us all achieve Peace in our World

Hurricane Sandy Update: President Obama For FEMA, Romney Against FEMA!

We have a clear choice on Election Day next Tuesday and we need to understand each candidate's position before we Vote. Consider the needs of your family, especially if a Natural Disaster like Hurricane Sandy happens in your neighborhood. Do you want FEMA? Or Not?
President Obama SUPPORTS FEMA.  Mitt Romney OPPOSES FEMA.
During the campaign season (see the video) Romney said, “(FEMA) send it to states or the private sector.  (Disaster Recovery) We can’t afford to do those things. It is immoral in my view... We can’t afford to keep doing those things. They make no sense at all!”
Can you imagine Romney as President telling future Hurricane Victims crying for help: "Take your concerns back to your states or to the private sector. We can't afford those things." What would Governor Christie or Governor Cuomo say to Romney? A State cannot handle the costs of a disaster the size of a Hurricane like Sandy or Katrina. Would they be satisfied with a bus load of canned goods when tens of thousands had their homes destroyed or left without power? Their local infrastructure destroyed?

Governors like Governor Christie (who said today on Fox News that he refuses to do a photo opp with Romney. He is too busy working with President Obama and getting his people cared for) or Governor Cuomo DEMAND FEDERAL HELP for their people. President Obama said to FEMA as they are providing HELP to the victims of Hurricane Sandy: "Do not figure out why we can't do something. I want you to figure out how we CAN do something. I want you to cut through the red tape; I want you to cut through the bureaucracy. There is no excuse for inaction at this point. I want every agency moving forward to make sure we are getting the resources where they are needed as quickly as possible."
He added, "I told the mayors and governors if they're getting no for an answer somewhere in the federal government, they can call me personally at the White House."
We can all support the victims by donating to the Red Cross. Donate here.

Hurricane Sandy Update: Rep. Gov. Chris Cristie said "President Obama has been OUTSTANDING!"

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie praised President Barack Obama today, as his state begins to rebuild from the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy. “I have to say, the administration, the president, himself and FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate have been OUTSTANDING with us,” Christie said on Good Morning America. “We have a great partnership with them.”
Christie told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that President Obama called him on Monday night around midnight to ask if there was anything else the federal government could do to help. Christie added that they worked together to move forward with a Major Disaster Declaration for New Jersey. The Major Disaster Declaration provides funding for recovery efforts, including infrastructure projects, temporary housing, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property loss and assistance to individuals and businesses. “He worked on that last night with me…offered any other assets that we needed to help,” Christie said. “I want to thank the president personally for his personal attention to this...President Obama has been Outstanding!”

Appearing on Fox News, Christie said the storm is bigger than the election. “I have a job in New Jersey that is much bigger than presidential politics,” Gov. Chris Christie said on the show Fox & Friends. “I couldn’t care less about that.”

Meanwhile, 50's retro Romney, in a political photo op while campaigning in Ohio, collected canned goods in a bus claiming he was going to deliver them to storm victims.
The Red Cross has asked ALL Americans to send their monetary donations to the Red Cross and not to send canned goods or products which are difficult to receive or distribute during these type of emergencies. The question is, why didn't the billionaire, in private, just sent a $10M check?

The Heroic General Colin Powell Endorses President Obama

Today, American Hero, General Colin Powell, one of the country's most respected Republicans, again endorsed President Barack Obama's bid for re-election, citing the Democratic president's efforts to wind down the war in Afghanistan and tackle terrorism as well as an improving our U.S. economy.

"I think we ought to keep on the track that we are on," the Republican, who also backed Obama in 2008, told "CBS This Morning." He added, "I voted for him in 2008 and I plan to stick with him in 2012."
President Obama welcomed General Powell's endorsement at a rally in Richmond, Virginia. "I was proud and humbled to learn that we have General Colin Powell's support in this campaign. I'm grateful to him for his lifetime of service to his country both as a soldier and as a diplomat," he told the crowd.
The President earlier called General Powell to thank him,
In his endorsement, General Powell said domestic issues such as the economy, healthcare and education loomed large in his support for a second term for President Obama. "When he took over, the country was in very, very difficult straits, we were in one of the worst recessions we had seen in recent times, close to a depression ... we were in real trouble," Powell said, adding that housing market has started to pick up, the auto industry has recovered and consumer confidence is rising.
"I think generally we've come out of the dive and starting to gain altitude," he said. "I see that we are starting to rise up," he said, but added problems such as unemployment and the housing market still need work.
also criticized Romney's foreign policy as inconsistent and questioned the former Massachusetts governor's ability to address the deficit and looming defense cuts.
"I'm not quite sure which Governor Romney we'd be getting with respect to foreign policy," he told CBS, calling Romney's foreign policy "a moving target."
As for the U.S. budget, he added: "It's essentially, let's cut taxes and compensate for that with other things, but that compensation does not cover all the cuts intended or the expenses associated with defense."
Powell, a moderate Republican, served as secretary of state under President George W. Bush. Some of Romney's advisers are more conservative veterans of the Bush administration.
"There's some very, very strong neo-conservative views that are presented by the governor that I have some trouble with," Powell said.
A retired four-star general, Powell was also chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under former President George H.W. Bush and was national security advisor under former President Ronald Reagan.
WE CAN ALL THANK GENERAL POWELL FOR STEPPING OUTSIDE OF POLITICS AND MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR AMERICA!

President Obama: 'Today we celebrate Cesar Chavez'

This afternoon, President Obama honored Latino Hero Cesar Chavez and designated his home as a national monument. Today's ceremony was in the Tehachapi Mountains in Kern County, the 187-acre site, known as Nuestra Senora Reina de la Paz (Our Lady Queen of Peace), or simply La Paz. Starting in 1971, this was a center of the United Farm Workers of America and the place where Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta and many organizers lived and strategized.
President Obama first toured the site with Latina Heroine Dolores Huerta.
During the ceremony, the President said, "Today, we celebrate a Great Man! Cesar Chavez..Today is the story of people, determined, fearless, hopeful people willing to devote their lives to make this country More Just and More Free..Today we celebrate Cesar Chavez."
When the Arizona-born Chavez began working as an organizer after World War II, "no one seemed to care about the invisible farm workers who picked the nation's food," President Obama said. "Cesar cared. And in his own peaceful, eloquent way he made other people care, too. Where there had once been despair, Cesar gave workers a reason to hope."

As head of the United Farm Workers of America, Chavez staged a massive grape boycott and countless field strikes, and forced growers to sign contracts providing better pay and working conditions to the predominantly Latino farmworkers. He was credited with inspiring millions of other Latinos in their fight for more educational opportunities, better housing and more political power.
President Obama seemed to tie Chavez to his own re-election campaign, saying: "Even though we have a difficult road ahead, I know we can keep moving forward together. " President Obama's 2012 campaign motto is "Forward."
Thousands of people were in attendance, many of them wearing shirts and hats with the UFW eagle stitched into the fabric. The attendees were excited and enthusiastic. The area was marked with pretty new green Cesar E. Chavez National Monument signs. The crowd at the site was the biggest since Chavez died. A spokesperson said, "Clearly, we all underestimated the passion people have for Cesar, the farm workers union and the opportunity to see the president," he said.
Helen Chavez and son Paul Chavez were among those attending the ceremony. Dolores Huerta, co-founder with Chavez of the UFW, and current union president Arturo S. Rodriguez also were present, as were Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, California Gov. Jerry Brown and other officials.

Romney Hiding From Previous Statements About Vetoing Dream Act! Right Wingers Up in Arms Against Dream Policy!

Watch this Video. A few months ago, while he was still pandering to the far right crowd, Romney brazenly stated that if he was elected President and if President Obama passed the Dream Act, he would VETO it on his 1st day of office. Since President Obama announced his Dream Policy, Romney - who has been attempting to pander to Latinos, has been ducking questions on whether he will VETO the President's decision. On this morning's "This Week with George Stephanopolous, Tim Pawlenty claimed Romney never said it. These Republicans forget about videos when they try to etch a sketch their lies.
We all know the Republican's agenda. Romney said he wants all 11M to Mass Self Deport themselves. That's on video too, but Pawlenty forgot that comment as well.
In fact, most of the right wingers are ANTI Latinos and against the Dream Act. They strongly support the racial profiling bills like sb1070.
Right now, many of them are up in arms against the President's new DREAM policy. Romney's Immigration Advisor Kris Kobach is angry. Kobach said the new policy is “illegal” because it violates a section of the 1996 Immigration Reform Act. “What the president is describing is a policy that we will refuse to initiate deportation proceedings,” which Kobach said goes against current law.
HINO Marco Rubio is rescinding his Bogus DREAM Act proposal. As we all know, his Bogus proposal would have never been introduced due to the hate-filled rhetoric of Anti-Latino Republicans and it was merely Rubio's attempt to pander to Latino Voters.

To be expected, Arizona Republican Governor (La Bruja) Jan Brewer calls the Dreamer Policy "Outrageous" and "backdoor amnesty." Racial Prsaofiler Arpaio has denounced it.
Republican former Prez Candidate Rick Santorum said President Obama was "arrogant" and this was a "grab for power."
Nutty Republican Sarah Palin said our President was "pandering."
Zealot rep. from Iowa Steve King said the policy "meets the definition of amnesty."

For these Republican zealots who are opposed to this new policy, President Obama said he called on Congress Friday to send him a bill that would address the issue. "I've said time and time and time again to Congress, send me the Dream Act, put it on my desk, and I will sign it right away," he said. "Both parties wrote this legislation."

Why Poor Conservatives Support the Republican Agenda

I've been watching Fox News and listening to Talk Radio. The Tea Party/Conservative Right Agenda is frightening. It seems as if they want to turn the clock back to the fifties.. the thirties. What is wrong with them?
Why are they Anti-Gay, Anti-Women's Right to Choose, Anti-Immigration Reform, Anti-Elderly? Why do they want to end Social Security and Medicare as we know them? Why are they against the Dream Act? Why do they think all minorities are lesser, on  Welfare, on Food Stamps and lazy? Why do they think we all live in the ghetto? Why do they think it's ok to Racial Profile - saying it's ok because we fit their profile-assumptions?
Worst of all, why do they hate our President? Of course we all know the answer to this question. You think they would be greatful to him. To name just a few of his accomplishments: He's responsible for killing Osama Bin Laden and many of al qaeda's top leaders. He saved General Motors and the Auto Industry and hundreds of thousands of jobs. He put in place a Healthcare Plan that protects those with pre-existing conditions, closes the Medicare donut hole for seniors, and eliminates redundancy and fraud through technology. He's put in place measures to protect our nation from Corporate/Banking Fraud. He has named so many women and minorities to positions of power, with Hillary Clinton as a shining example.
Consider all of President Obama's many accomplishments. He was able to complete them even though Republicans fought him every step of the way.
Consider what the Republicans have done. In state after state with Republican Governors, we have seen the carnage they have wrought. They continue eliminating Jobs and destroying Unions -- especially the jobs of Teachers, Firefighters and Policemen. Additionally, they are putting in place state laws that are violating people's rights, including requiring invasive devices which rape women who are considering abortions, voter suppression laws targetting the minority vote, discriminatory laws against Gays and pushing silly Birther type laws.
Additionally, Conservatives and their leaders at the Heritage Foundation are strongly pushing the Paul Ryan proposal which ends Social Security and Medicare as we know them and promises additional Tax Cuts for the very rich 1 percenters.
What is mind boggling is that poor and elderly Conservative Fundamentalists support the Republican agenda. We all know their support is primarily due to the fact they Hate our Black President, as well as Foreigners, Minorities, Women, Socialists, Gays and Liberals. It is so obvious.
