BREAKING NEWS!!! Soap Opera Politics Vol 1 Issue 15: Jesse Jackson Bad Mouths Obama!

According to CNN, Jesse Jackson (JJ) said something despicable about Obama while not knowing he was on Live Mike. (JJs live broadcast is over) FOX is staying MUM! Jackson feigns Amnesia of his exact words.
In a nutshell, JJ was angry because Obama said, "If Black Americans were more responsible for their actions, they would not suffer so negatively in Jobs, Health Care, Economy." JJ responded (apparently with bad words on a live FOX mike) "Barack does not know or understand the Black experience in America."
I am sure Hannity and his heinous Fox cohorts are drooling, absolutely drooling over this live mike video and are waiting for just the right moment to release it. Personally, I can understand both perspectives. From Obama´s perspective, we DO all need to take personal responsibility and be resilient, regardless of how many times we are knocked down. From JJs perspective, I can understand that the younger generation has not walked the walk and doe sn´t understand the barriers that have been overcome.
In either case, I think this is a WIN for Obama! After all, He is the candidate of Change!
Here is what AP is reporting about this story:
Jackson apologizes for his comments about Obama
CHICAGO (AP) — The Rev. Jesse Jackson apologized Wednesday for comments he made about Barack Obama's speeches in black churches during what he thought was a private conversation with a reporter.
Jackson told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday that his comments made Sunday were in response to a question from a Fox News reporter about speeches on morality the Democratic presidential candidate has given at black churches. The civil rights leader said Wednesday he felt there were other important issues to be addressed in the black community, such as unemployment, the mortgage crisis and the number of blacks in prison. He was being interviewed about health care by a Fox News reporter on Sunday when he was asked his opinion about Obama speaking in black churches. Jackson said Wednesday he was not aware that his microphone was still on. Jackson told The Associated Press he doesn't remember exactly what he said Sunday but that he was "very sorry" for his comments about Obama. He called his comments "a side light in a broader conversation about urban disparities." "My appeal was for the moral content of his message to not only deal with the personal and moral responsibility of black males, but to deal with the collective moral responsibility of government and the public policy which would be a corrective action for the lack of good choices that often led to their irresponsibility," Jackson said in a written statement. Jackson said he has called Obama's campaign to apologize and that he supports the candidate unequivocally. Messages seeking from Obama's campaign and a Fox News spokeswoman were not immediately returned.

  1. If I had a dollar for every time you used the word "heinous" I could have retired ten years ago! Buy yourself a new vocabulary will you! Geez!

  2. Did Obama take a page out of Bill Cosby's book? Jackson didn't like it? Jackson is out for his own profit, he is a failed messiah himself.

  3. I think of Jesse Jackson as I think of McCain or Kerry. They are people who spent their entire lives aspiring to a Goal, to a Dream, which has now passed them by. Now they see the inevitable heir to the throne and there are some jealousies. Its how most golfers feel about Woods.

  4. Oh please! Pro golfers aren't jealous of Tiger Woods, they admire him. I am a golfer and I know many of the pro golfers on tour. You always throw your opinions around as if they were fact. Well this time I can speak from the horses mouth and you are wrong!

I think you were cleverly trying to interject some racism in there. McCain vs Obama = white vs black.
white pro golfers vs Tiger Woods - white vs black.

I am sure that deep inside that Jackson will be thrilled to see a black president even though its not going to be him.

  5. Gosh Pat,
I was thinking age and you bring race into it.

We will have to LOOK into what you are saying!

  6. This is not a kingdom and BHO won't be sitting on any throne. Hopefully, he won't even be sitting in the Oval Office. You want "heinous"? How about a man who believes that a baby born alive after an abortion should not be offered medical care (and please don't refute this with Obama's lies about what he did in Illinois). That, on top of the fact he has hardly any experience at anything other than fund raising; he sat in the pew of a church for 20 years that spewed racist hatred towards white people and this country; he has been associated with criminals and even terrorists while in Chicago ... but ... he's a damn good speaker about hope and change.

I hope he isn't out shopping for his crown quite yet cause I doubt he's gonna have a coronation.

  7. Well Dianne, we do get you are not voting for BHO.

I do think he has better odds than McC though, so we may as well accept him.

You have to admit he is better than what we have now.

  8. I do like what he said about accepting responsibility. We, each of us, need to accept responsibility for our own actions and for our own families.

  9. Yes, Dee, he is right about accepting responsibility. If somebody else had said that, I would have applauded but Obama lost me long before that speech.

  10. How many times has it been pointed out in here by myself and others that the illegals need to be held responsible for their actions also? What did we get? Only blame on the employers and our government by the pro-illegls. So much for the "responsbility" claim. Guess that only works selectively by the pro-illegal crowd.

  11. Pat, Pat, Pat,
I have always advocated accepting responsibility. However, in the History of Immigration in our Country, Business has continued to solicit workers via various programs, legal and illegal, and those coming are in search of the Dream. If we do not hold Business or the Administration responsible, who are the root cause, how can we hod those escaping deplorable conditions? Even our Founding Fathers understood escaping.

  12. Oh, as usual you are excusing the illegals, dee. It is against the law to migrate here illegally and it doesn't matter what their cirumstances are. There are millions more people on this planet that live in deplorable conditions, shall we invite them all to come because of that? Until you are willing to put the blame three-fold (employers, government and the illegals) where it belongs as us anti's do, you will never hold any credibility in this issue. All you do is show your true agenda and we anti's know what that is with you ethnocentrics.

  13. I believe Obama was on the mark. If I may paraphrase into something more universal: You are where you are today because of you.

    Simple.

    Define "better".

I'll be honest, I wasn't going to vote for BHO, but now I have 3 reasons why I should:
    1. Maybe it will shut the Democrats up for 4 years.

    2. I'm curious how a great speaker with no publicly made plans will do.

    3. I don't wanna be labeled a "racist" for not voting for someone based on their ideas as opposed to their skin tone.

  14. Here's a definition arizonian. A certified IDIOT could do "BETTER" than what we have now. As far as your "3rd" reason to vote for Obama. Doesn't that make you a racist for even mentioning something like that. Aren't you supposed to vote for Obama just because he's "WAY BETTER" than mccain and his 100 years plan and not be persuaded by skin color. Hey that's just me, I could be wrong.

    Actually, here is a definition:

    bet·ter
    1. of superior quality or excellence: a better coat; a better speech.
    2. morally superior; more virtuous: They are no better than thieves.
    3. of superior suitability, advisability, desirability, acceptableness, etc.; preferable: a better time for action.
    4. larger; greater: the better part of a lifetime.
    5. improved in health; healthier than before.
    6. completely recovered in health.
–adverb, compar. of well with best as superl.
    7. in a more appropriate or acceptable way or manner: to behave better.
    8. to a greater degree; more completely or thoroughly: He knows the way better than we do. I probably know him better than anyone else.
    9. more: I walked better than a mile to town.
    –verb (used with object)
    10. to increase the good qualities of; make better; improve: to better the lot of the suburban commuter.
    11. to improve upon; surpass; exceed: We have bettered last year's production record.

Again, "better" is really up to interpretation. Some would believe libertarianism is better, others believe socialism is better.

As far as the racism thing:

I was being sarcastic naturally. But just in case you wanted to know why I said it:

    http://sisu.typepad.com/sisu/2006/12/obama_called_me.html

    http://mensnewsdaily.com/2008/06/06/chicago-daily-herald-vote-for-obama-or-youre-a-racist/

But the whole "If you don't vote for Obama, you're a racist" bit has been going around. Kinda like someone (?) is trying to guilt trip everyone into voting for Obama.

And take a vacation, you seem to be taking everything a little to seriously.....

  16. Arizonian, I didnt think you were being racist or sarcastic.(perhaps tongue in cheek). Thank you for the links re "if you dont vote for Obama your an R word." This reminded me of the pundits discussing this issue on MSNBC. In this case, there were 2 or 3 Black participants in the discussion. They were talking about the Super Delegates and how Obama supporters called the black Super Delegates asking "Do you want to be the one who stops the 1st Black President from being elected?" I think there is some of this type of mindset going on.

  17. Anon1,
    I agree.
While everyone who reads my blog knows I was initially a Hillary supporter, I do believe Obama is a far better candidate than McCain, particularly due to his stance on Iraq.
