On Wednesday, Sept 23 at about 1:00 am, racial slurs were shouted as three men beat, robbed and stripped the clothing from Derrick Thomas (18), who is autistic. The three men were standing over Thomas, armed with an ax, brass knuckles and a gun. They beat and kicked the 18-year-old while screaming racial epithets, ordering him to strip naked. Then they robbed him of everything he had, including his Air Jordans, blue jeans and shirt. "They were saying stuff like, 'We hate the president; we're gonna kill the president, his wife and his kids,'" Thomas recalled, his left eye puffy and discolored. "They said every black person that comes through our park, we're gonna kick their butt. We don't like black people, period."
A little later that night, police caught the three perpetrators in the act of attacking a second black man -- Thomas' uncle -- just blocks away. Authorities filed assault and robbery charges against Anthony P. Kilpela and Bryan C. Westerlund, both 21, of Minneapolis. A week later, police arrested the third perp, Tyler Kai Ketz.
Both victims are black, the suspects are white, and authorities say both crimes are believed to be motivated by racial bias. The U.S. Secret Service is also investigating the men for allegedly threatening to kill the Obamas.
Usual Hate Crime Excuses:
Tania Kilpela looks down and shakes her head, her voice trembling when she talks about the accusations against her older brother, Tony. "He's not a bad person, and I'm just in shock. He's not like that at all," she said on the back patio of her south Minneapolis home Saturday. "We have foster cousins that are black. One of his best friends is black. Tony is very funny and very caring. It's all just not making sense to me."

Another one:
ReplyDeleteSAN FRANCISCO — A Northern California man remained in federal custody without bail Friday after being charged with sending racist, profanity-laced e-mail threatening to kill President Barack Obama and his family.
John Gimbel, 59, of Crescent City was arrested Oct. 6 by U.S. Secret Service officers and indicted two days before the president's Thursday appearances at a pair of Democratic fundraisers in the city.
In seeking an arrest warrant, authorities asked for permission to enter Gimbel's house without knocking because sheriff's deputies had found him with a loaded handgun during an earlier arrest and some of his e-mails included threats against law enforcement officers.
Many presidents have been threatened to be assasinated and in fact have been assasinated and they were white presidents.
ReplyDeleteHere is what the secret service says about threats against our president:
ReplyDelete"Such possibilities notwithstanding, last year reports emerged that Obama, as the president elect, had more threats against him than any other president elect in American history. Since then, the Secret Service has said threats against this president are up "400 per cent from the 3,000 a year or so under President George W. Bush."
Pampering the "Swing States", spending the Stimulus Package in the Contended States, the Toss Up States, some data. - Is Obama shrewd ?
ReplyDeleteMy friend Leo L. in Gather.com provides some data on the effect of the "Stimulus Package" or Congress Bill on the Economy and the Jobs created in various States. See link at the bottom of this article.
I have read articles in the past, saying that Presidents always favor with visits those states that will be "Contended States" or "Toss up States", "Decisive States" in next Presidential elections. Where margins of victory or loss are very small for the president.
To what extent is Mr Obama being shrewd by visiting the "Swing States" or "Dangerous States" ...And what about spending in "Swing States" ??
Colorado, Florida, Georgia and Ohio are superb "Swing States" and are on top of the list. Texas and Arizona have demographies that point to future "Blue" states, voting for Democrats. Also on top of the list.
Virginia and New Mexico have to be pampered. Virginia has recently left the Red "Confederacy" and became Blue Democratic.
All these states have seen beautiful increments in employment.
