The right wing websites and some of my Bad Anons are going crazy over two recent crimes on White Males. My Bad Anons are clamoring for me to write about these cases and "give it the same coverage you gave the Trayvon Martin case."
The crimes were atrocious. The victims innocent. However the crimes were different.
Unlike the Trayvon Martin case, with both killings, the killers were arrested within days of the crime. There is plenty of coverage in the news about these crimes. Both right wing and left are covering them. George Zimmerman, Trayvon's Killer, was NOT charged for Trayon's death for many months and there was no media coverage for the case for months.
The first crime:
Last Friday, Christopher Lane, 22, a white, Australian baseball athlete, was shot and killed as he was jogging down a quiet street in the rural town of Duncan, Oklahoma. The shooter was a half black, half white 16 year old and has been charged with 1st degree murder. A second teen, a 15 year black teenager, was also charged with 1st degree murder even though he was not the shooter. I find this a bit odd, but given the media attention to some months old "facebook gun selfies", it's not surprising he was charged with 1st degree murder just due to the negative media coverage.
Both were charged as adults. The 17 year old white driver was charged as an accessory, but charged as a juvenile, probably because he confessed that the other two were the perps. All three are in jail and will stay in jail until the trial.
The 2nd Crime:
Last Thursday at 2:00am in Spokane, Washington, Delbert Belton, 88, a World War II veteran was brutally murdered in the parking lot of an American Legion hall. The killers were two 16 year olds. They were black. They were looking to rob him and they beat him over the head with a flashlight. The killers have been arrested and are charged with 1st degree murder and 1st degree robbery. Both are jailed and will stay in jail until the trial.
Zimmerman's Brother:
This weekend, Robert Zimmerman, the brother of the set free killer of Trayvon Martin, attacked our President, charging that his spokesperson should have known about the Christopher Lane killing, saying our President has a hatred for White People.
-----------------------------------
My View:
I feel sadness for the Victims and their Families. I feel sorrow for the deaths of Christopher Lane, Delbert Belton and for Trayvon Martin. All three of them were needlessly killed. Their Killers should have been:
. Immediately Arrested
. Charged to the Fullest Degree of the Law
This WAS the case for Victims Lane and Belton. NOT the case for Trayvon Martin.
AND our courts should NEVER:
. Put the Victim on Trial
. Never go back into their phone records & accuse them of being responsible for their own deaths.
THIS WILL NOT BE THE CASE for Victims Lane and Belton. Unfortunately, this is what happened to Trayvon Martin.
The good news:
1. the killers of Lane and Belton were immediately arrested and charged for their crimes; no bail and will be in jail until their trials.
2. the victims are being treated as victims. They will not be put on trial.
3. The police will NOT:
a. check into their cell phone records for the last 2 years to see if they took pictures of themselves with guns.
b. they will not search their facebook posts to see if there are any comments that could allude to any "partying" behavior.
c. even though one victim was coming out of a bar at 2:00am, their drinking history will NOT be put on trial.
THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE. The police and the courts will treat Victims Lane and Belton as VICTIMS and NOT put them on Trial. Unfortunately this was NOT the case for Trayvon Martin.
Additionally, and I find this the most atrocious.
READ THE COMMENTS on the articles about Victims Lane and Belton. The far right wing commenters not only chastise the perpetrators, they blast ALL Blacks and Minorities. They call them Animals. They shout out "they don't belong in our country."
They blame our President, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton for these crimes.
Here are some comments from the Daily Caller:
1. White deaths do not appear on community organizer radar. (Blaming President)
2. Wonder how Rev. Al will cover it ?... or... NOT cover it !
3. Yep, a crack smoking homosexual that has a penchant for bath houses. (BlamingPresident)
4. It is way too late. It is so over. The complexion of our country is nothing like it was even 20 years ago. The liberals have flooded our population with muslims, African Africans and Mexicans just to jerrymander with the vote. They are some sick puppies.
5. More like Meximerica.
6. How about Mexmusmerica?
7. That's right, America is going to be become a Sharia country because of Obama.
All in all, one of my biggest peeves is, the Far Right Wing's methodology in attacking and blaming ALL MINORITIES when a crime involving a minority perpetrator occurs -- or blaming the Victim if the Victim is a Minority, AND at the same time, IF a there is a crime committed by a White Perpetrator, then it is AN ISOLATED Incident committed by a Crazed Gunman.
Examples 1:
Right Wingers View Crimes by Whites = Isolated Incident by Crazed Gunman:
1. Columbine School Shootings (Any School Shootings)
2. Aurora Movie Shootings
3. Gabby Giffords Shootings
4. Serial Killers: BTK, Bundy, Gacy, etc. etc. etc.
Example 2:
Right Wingers View Crimes by Minorities = All Minorities should Leave the USA; they're ALL Animals
1. Any drunk driving charge by minority/illeegal
2. Any killing near border where an unknown minority/illeegal MIGHT have done the killing
3. Any killing by a minority or 1 person in the group was a minority
The proof is in the Comments of any newspaper following these articles.

O'Keefe Caught with his Pants Down! Forced to Pay $100,000 for his ACORN LIES!
James O'Keefe, the right wing nutjob who hid a camera on ACORN, just got his due. He has agreed to pay a $100, 000 settlement to an ACORN employee that he LIED TO and SCAMMED for his Fox TV video falsely accusing ACORN.
According to the last 5 pages of the agreement, Idiot O'Keefe and his legal counsel agreed to pay $100K for their tom-foolery scam.
Will Fox News apologize for their LIES? Will Breitbart.com apologize for their LIES? Will the insane right wing politicians apologize for their flagrant attacks and LIES against ACORN that ultimately dismantled them? NO,. No. No. They won't.
However, the rightwing nutjob responsible for the LYING Video and ALL of the stupid, lying LIES against an honorable group like ACORN, will FINALLY face his due. James O'Keefe, the LIAR and right wing nutjob, has been ORDERED by the court to pay $100,000 to those he victimized. And he has ADMITTED and AGREED to PAY!
And Justice Prevails!

The Trayvon Martin Case and the Far Right's Attack on VICTIMS WHO ARE MINORITIES!!
I've written a couple of posts on the Trayvon Martin case and received numerous emails from Bad Anon and others sending me examples of Black on White crime. I've also been watching Fox News, read the Alipac forum and listened to Conservative AM Radio talkshow hosts who are also up in arms about the media coverage of this case. They all question why the "Liberal media" and the Civil Rights organizations (e.g.: Rev Al,, Action News Network and the NAACP) are promoting this case when there is far more "Black on Black" crime and "Black on White" crime.
These groups totally miss the point of the issues surrounding this case. The primary issue surrounding this case is the fact that the police did NOT act on this case. They never investigated. They treated Trayvon's Death as that of a criminal; worse yet, an inferior, non-person criminal -- as some police do for all minority victims.
The police did not investigate nor charge the perpetrator, George Zimmerman.
Bad Anon sent me a few of his examples of Black on White crimes, as IF these examples were similar to what occurred in the Trayvon Martin case. However, in each of the examples sent, the Black Perpetrator was immediately investigated and charged with a crime. In fact, in ALL of the other examples by Fox or right wing talk radio, the perp was immediately investigated AND Charged!
THAT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED IN THE TRAYVON MARTIN CASE.
Go back to the earliest days of the case. The shooting of Trayvon Martin occurred on March 26, 2012. The parents were not notified by the police of their son's death for 3 days -- 3 DAYS -- even though they called the police to report him missing.
The police had Trayvon's cell phone. His parent's numbers were on his call list. The police completed an autopsy on Trayvon immediately - without the parent's permission, just to see if he had taken drugs. They did not do the same for George Zimmerman. -- and all they found was Skittles and Iced Tea.
After more than a week of being stonewalled by police about the investigation into their son’s killing, Trayvon's parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, had to hire lawyers and hold a news conference before the Police investigated the case. During their press conference on March 8, they said, “We feel justice hasn’t been served,” Martin told reporters.
Police chief Bill Lee Jr. fought back, insisting that his department had conducted a thorough investigation and failed to find reason to charge Zimmerman.
“There is evidence that Zimmerman acted in self-defense,” Lee announced. Lee told a Sanford Herald reporter that arresting Zimmerman “would have been a violation of his civil rights.” In his public pronouncements he sounded more like Zimmerman’s attorney than a law enforcement official looking for the truth. Lee was eventually suspended.
It was only after the parents asked Minority Rights advocates and the media to become involved that action was taken on the case. Finally, the Prosecuting Attorney and the Governor became involved. Finally, the shooter has been charged.
This case is a clear example of Discrimination in America and in the American Justice system. These "errors" are perpetrated by local law enforcement, including Prosecutors. As is evident in this case, they view minorities -- even the victims -- as being at fault in most crimes. As in the Martin Case, the police failed to investigate the crime because the VICTIM WAS A MINORITY. As has happened so many times in Maricopa county, they refused to investigate the crime because the VICTIM WAS A MINORITY. Just look at all of the Rape Cases Arpaio REFUSED to Investigate -- ALL BECAUSE THE VICTIMS WERE MINORITIES!!!
This is the reason why the Martin case is so Important!! Trayvon Martin -- THE VICTIM -- his case was NOT acted upon because HE WAS A MINORITY!!
If a minority is the perpetrator (as in ALL the examples presented by the far right) the Police and the Prosecutor IMMEDIATELY begin the investigation.
This week, Special prosecutor Angela Corey’s decision to charge Zimmerman with second-degree murder in the killing of the unarmed Trayvon Martin is a POSITIVE first step in providing EQUAL JUSTICE FOR ALL -- REGARDLESS OF RACE OR ETHNICITY.

White Nationalist Skin Head Receives Life Sentence in Hate Crime Murder!
CNN Reports: A white Mississippi man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2011 murder of an African-American man, with the judge calling it an inexcusable, "despicable" crime. Deryl Dedmon pleaded guilty to murder and a hate-crime charge, admitting to the June killing of James Craig Anderson. Hinds County Circuit Judge Jeff Weill sentenced him to two concurrent life terms, saying, "This craven act isn't who we are."
"Whatever excuse you offer, forget that. There is no excuse," Weill said. He added, "The state of Mississippi condemns this despicable crime." Dedmon, 19, told the judge that he was a "changed man" who had found religion since his arrest. "I wish I could take it all back," he said, adding, "I was young and dumb, ignorant and full of hatred. I chose to go down the wrong path." Dedmon is also expected to plead guilty to still-undisclosed federal charges Thursday, the first indication that a federal case was pending in Anderson's death. Officials would disclose no details, but Hinds County District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith said he expected other charges -- and other arrests.
"This is just the beginning," Smith said. Anderson's killing prompted several large marches and prayer vigils in Jackson, a city of about 537,000 people. His sister, Barbara Anderson Young, said during Wednesday's hearing that her family was praying for "racial conciliation." "These last months have been very difficult," Young said. "We cried. We wept. We reminisced about our beloved brother, Craig, a loss I cannot even explain. Craig was a big-hearted person who loved his fellow man."
Anderson died after he was beaten and run over by a truck driven by Dedmon, according to police. Dedmon was part of a group of seven white youths from largely white Rankin County who decided to "go f**k with some niggers," after a night of partying and drinking, law enforcement officials have said, quoting some of the suspects in the case.
Smith has said the evidence indicated the suspects, who ranged in age from 17 to 19, "went out with the intention to harm and, in this case, kill a black man." According to investigators, they drove 16 miles in two vehicles from Rankin County to Jackson, where after exiting the highway, they found Anderson alone in a parking lot about 4 a.m. on June 26.
The white men allegedly beat Anderson repeatedly, yelling racial epithets. After the beating, Dedmon drove his Ford F-250 truck over him, leaving him to die, according to what some of the teens cooperating with police have told authorities.
Anderson's death drew national attention after CNN first reported it and aired exclusive surveillance video of the killing, captured by a parking lot security camera in a Jackson suburb.
A second man, John Aaron Rice, was initially charged with murder, but a judge reduced the charges to simple assault because Rice was not believed to be driving the vehicle used to kill Anderson.
Kin of alleged hate crime victim sue For months, lawyers had been working behind the scenes in Jackson, where Dedmon is being held, fighting over a change of venue in a possible trial. Smith had hoped to have a trial in Jackson, where the crime occurred and which is largely black. But defense attorneys wanted to move the trial to an area with a larger white population, the law enforcement officials said.
Murder suspect carried 'backpack of hatred'
Authorities believe Dedmon led and instigated the attack. On a sweltering Mississippi night in June, a gang of youths climbed into Dedmon's green truck and a white SUV and drove to the western edge of Jackson. They would have seen Anderson immediately as they exited the highway, officials said. He was standing in a hotel parking lot just beyond the exit ramp.
On the videotape obtained exclusively by CNN, the group pulls into the parking lot and stops where Anderson is standing, although he is just off camera and not visible.
The young men can then be seen going back and forth between their cars and Anderson. Witnesses told authorities this is when Anderson's beating took place, as the white youths yelled racial epithets, including "white power."
Authorities allege Dedmon and many of the other teens pummeled Anderson repeatedly as he crumpled to the ground, although this is not visible on the tape. After the beating, some of the white youths left, and others got into the green Ford truck.
At this moment, Anderson becomes visible on the tape as he staggers into view and walked toward the truck.
"Defendant Dedmon drove the F-250 out of the parking lot and turned right onto Ellis Avenue," the lawsuit says. "Just as Dedmon turned right, his headlights shone directly on Anderson, who, having been severely beaten, was stumbling in a grassy area near the motel's entrance. Dedmon accelerated, drove onto and over the street curb, and struck Anderson with the front of the F-250."
Shortly afterward, Dedmon allegedly boasted and laughed about the killing, according to statements some of the teens made to detectives. "I ran that nigger over," he allegedly said in a phone conversation to the youths in the other car. "He was not remorseful," Smith said. "He was laughing, laughing about the killing." But during a bail hearing last year, Dedmon's attorney told the court he saw nothing to back up the "racial allegations."
The U.S. Justice Department had been looking into the death as a possible federal hate crime and assisting local prosecutors. Federal investigators also have been digging for months into other possible crimes in the area committed by Dedmon and others that might show a pattern of racial violence.
Anderson's family had asked state and federal officials not to seek the death penalty against Dedmon or any other youths who might be charged in the case, saying they oppose capital punishment in part because of their religious faith. The family also filed a wrongful death suit against all seven of the white youths who were present at the beating of Anderson. The Southern Poverty Law Center, a nationally recognized organization in Montgomery, Alabama, that opposes racism and intolerance, joined in the lawsuit to help the case, joining forces with the family's attorney, Winston J. Thompson III.
"James Anderson lost his life for no other reason than the color of his skin," said Morris Dees, chief trial counsel for the law center . "Those responsible must be held accountable for their callous and deadly actions. We are filing this lawsuit today to ensure his family gets a measure of justice." Anderson, a line worker at a Nissan plant, sang in his church choir, Thompson said. He is survived by his partner of 17 years. "He was just a pillar of the community," Thompson said. "He paid his taxes on time; he went to work, came home -- he was just an average, ordinary citizen, good guy, wonderful gardener

Arpaio in HUGE Trouble and FINALLY About to Face his Due! MCSO employees ordered to testify about finances!
KSWT reports: PHOENIX (AP) - The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has ordered 13 of Sheriff Joe Arpaio's employees to testify about financial activities within the agency. Tuesday's action comes after the sheriff's office was accused by county officials this week of creating a hidden personnel database that may have allowed years of misspending. The Arizona Republic says the board served subpoenas to staff working on budget, finance and payroll issues, and those working with the media. The board also asked Arpaio to turn over financial documents, time sheets, software and other records that track employee information.
County budget officials believe the Sheriff's Office may have misspent up to $16 million a year from detention funds for uses not permitted by law, and are working to determine how far back the problem stretches.

Guest Voz - Maegan 'La Mamita Mala': Hate Crime Act Passes in the House
Guest Voz - Maegan 'La Mamita Mala': Hate Crime Act Passes in the House
On Thursday the House of Representatives passed the Defense Authorization Act of 2010 (H.R. 2467), including the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act which extends the definition of violent hate crimes to include gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability.
From Rep. Barney Frank:
On Thursday the House of Representatives passed the Defense Authorization Act of 2010 (H.R. 2467), including the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act which extends the definition of violent hate crimes to include gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability.
From Rep. Barney Frank:
The Hate Crimes provision in the legislation passed today will allow the federal government to assist local and state law enforcement authorities, which prosecute the overwhelming majority of Hate Crimes cases. It permits the federal government to share resources and enforcement tools. It also authorizes the U.S. Attorney General to make grants to state and local law enforcement authorities which have incurred especially high expenses in connection with the investigation and prosecution of these crimes. In some ways this is good news. However I am always wary of looking at enforcement legislation as a solution. Will this mean, for example that hate crimes will be more vigorously investigated and prosecuted on the state and local level? Does this mean that there will be one actual standard for what constitutes a hate crime? Looking at Suffolk County, NY, where Marcelo Lucero was killed, it was just this week that the Federal Department of Justice announced that they would officially investigate the Suffolk County police department for “discriminatory policing” against Latinos, meaning ignoring a pattern and practice of hate crimes while creating their own pattern and practice of giving a green light to these acts. Will the new hate crimes law, which is expected to pass in the Senate and be signed by President Obama, be enough to force local law enforcement to act or will they be too busy looking at other enforcement programs like 287(g) which target immigrant communities and lead to racial profiling no even care? Wouldn’t it be more effective for the Federal and local government to create some consistency. After all, can you protect with one hand what you are trying to destroy with the other?

DOJ to Pursue Federal Charges, Local Cops Under Investigation, Jury Foreman says Most Jurors Racists, Demonstrations Planned in Shenandoah, !
DOJ to Pursue Federal Charges:Federal officials are investigating whether to prosecute two teenagers convicted of simple assault in connection with the fatal beating of Luis Ramirez in July in Shenandoah, a U.S. Department of Justice spokesman said Monday.“There is an investigation ongoing” into the case of Brandon J. Piekarsky and Derrick M. Donchak, Alejandro Miyan said. “The Civil Rights Division is examining the evidence and will determine if there is a prosecutable violation of federal civil rights statutes.” The Mexican American Legal Defense Fund has started a petition that all supporters of Justice for Luis Ramirez can send to the DOJ. For all interested in signing and sending the petition, please log in here to forward your letter to the DOJ. Please forward this letter to all of your friends and relatives so they can also submit their support for this noble cause for Justice for Luis Ramirez.
Local Cops Under Investigation:
As I have frequently reported, the local police in Shenandoah are seemingly corrupt and racist. The testimony in the murder case indicated at least one officer, Hayes, assisted the accused Piekarsky, in creating a false alibi and coercing the fellow accused to LIE to the courts. Walsh, Scully and others testified to this in the court case. Now, the FBI is conducting an investigation into the Shenandoah Police Department. The investigation is ongoing and state police at Frackville have been told to have troopers ready to patrol the borough if necessary, according to several sources who asked not to be identified.
Jury Foreman says Most Jurors Racist:
Jury foreman, Eric Macklin, blasted some of his fellow jurors. "I believe strongly that some of the people on the jury were racist. I believe some of the people on the jury had their minds made up before the first day of the trial," Macklin said Saturday. A majority of the jury was ready to throw out the most serious charges against the teens in the first hour but jury foreman Macklin continued the deliberations pushing for a conviction on all the charges. One of the jurors, Josh Silfies, who Macklin accused of being racist, attacked Macklin saying, "Pardon my language, 'Where the "f" where you all week! Weren't you out there?' Macklin said yes. The accused racist Silfies said 'Well you must have been asleep.'"
Demonstrations Planned in Shenandoah:
People from all around the country could soon converge on the tiny borough of Shenandoah in Schuylkill County. Two men, from Florida and New York City, are teaming up to organize a peaceful protest in response to the verdict in the beating death of illegal immigrant Luis Ramirez. The organizers of the protest say they also want to meet with the U.S. Attorney's office to talk about the possibility of filing federal charges. I will be publishing the dates/times of the Peaceful Protest in Shenandoah as soon as they become available.

The trial date for the "Kick in the Head Murder" case of Brandon Piekarsky and Derrick Donchak has been set for April 27. Jury selection will start on April 22. One thing is troubling about this case. The trials of only two (Donchak & Piekarsky) of the three charged are moving forward. Walsh was not included. Very Curious! As you recall from the Grand Jury testimony of fellow football player and witness Joseph Lawson, Donchak initiated the fight with Luis Ramirez. Walsh delivered the "sucker punch" which resulted in Ramirez' head bouncing off the macadam. Then the cowardly Piekarsky delivered the FINAL Kick to the Head as Ramirez lay unconscious on the ground. Piekarsky and Walsh are both charged with 3rd degree murder while Donchak is charged with assault with a deadly weapon (brass knuckles). I am concerned that the trials were separated. A motion to sever the trials was previously denied. So why are the trials now severed? It doesn't make sense. It appears the motion, even though denied, will actually occur. This leaves the Defense the opportunity to pit Walsh against Piekarsky. Did the sucker punch kill Ramirez or that final/fatal kick in the head? This appears to be an obvious ploy.

What is clear is, HATE CRIMES MUST STOP! The only way for these HATE CRIMES to stop is to ensure that the perpetrators of these HATE CRIMES are punished to the fullest extent of the Law! Those responsible MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. If they are allowed to go unpunished, then these crimes will surely continue!
Early in the investigation, the local police did not want to charge the perpetrators. It was only through the vigilance of Justice Advocates that this case came to the forefront. They brought in the FBI to investigate the improprieties. It is NOW time to call in the FBI again to ensure this case is brought forward properly through the Justice system.

5:37 PM EDT, April 13, 2009
A trial date has been set for two of the three teenagers accused in the July fatal beating of an illegal immigrant in Schuylkill County, but it wasn't immediately clear today why the third won't be part of the trial.A notice released by the county Court Administrator's office today said jury selection will start April 22 to hear the cases against Brandon J. Piekarsky, 18, and Derrick M. Donchak, 19, both of Shenandoah, in the July 12 beating of Luis Ramirez, 25, a Mexican who had lived in the borough for six years.Piekarsky is charged with third-degree murder, ethnic intimidation and other counts. Donchak is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault and other counts.Police say the beating was racially motivated. The accused are white, and police say they used racial slurs as they beat Ramirez.

It did not explain why a third teen charged in the beating, Colin Walsh, also 18 and of Shenandoah, won't be tried at the same time. County President Judge William E. Baldwin on Nov. 24 denied a motion by Walsh to sever his trial from that of the two others. Contacted today, Baldwin said he had no comment about why Walsh won't be charged with the others.Walsh's attorney, Roger Laguna Jr. of Harrisburg, was in another trial and was unavailable, an office secretary said. The case's racial component drew national attention to the small coal mining borough. The FBI has monitored the case since Latino groups criticized the initial handling of the case by borough police.

Breaking News: DOJ to Conduct Special Investigation into Arpaio's Civil Rights Violations! Ole Joe to Finally Receive Justice!
BREAKING NEWS: WASHINGTON - Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers announced he will conduct a hearing in April to examine the conduct of Sheriff Joe Arpaio for civil rights abuses. The investigation will include accusations of Racial Profiling. Local Mayors, officials and citizens charged Arpaio and his volunteer (masked) deputies racially profiled Latinos when they conducted sweeps of Latino neighborhoods in the Phoenix area looking for illegal immigrants. Conyers said the hearing will also examine other possible abuses of the 287(g) program that allows local police departments to enforce federal immigration laws.
The Justice Department's civil rights division said in a letter to Arpaio this week that he is under investigation for an alleged pattern of discriminatory police practices and of discrimination based on national origin.
The honorable Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, who asked for a federal investigation of Arpaio a year ago, said Tuesday he is encouraged that one has finally begun. "One year ago, I raised questions and concerns about possible civil rights violators by the sheriff against American citizens, military veterans and immigrants of every legal status, based on skin color," Gordon said in a written statement. "Since that time, we have seen an encouraging and dramatic turnaround in attitude at the U..S. Department of Justice. We should all be encouraged that our new attorney general is taking these issues seriously and this is the right thing to do."
Various Civil Rights organizations, including the NCLR, the National Immigration Forum and America's Voice have stated: "—“For some time we have been concerned about Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s abuse of authority under Maricopa County’s 287(g) contract with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. A
rpaio has made it clear that he and his deputies have little regard for due process, civil liberties, and their obligation to protect all residents of Maricopa County. We look with hope to the Civil Rights Division investigation. We hope that the Department of Justice will send a signal to local law enforcement agencies throughout America and restore the rule of law to Maricopa County. This is long overdue.”

Hate Crime Murder Victim's Mother Feels Sadness for Mothers of the Accused!
Last November, Marcelo Lucero was murdered by the "Caucasian Crew," a group of frenzied teenagers in search of a Mexican to beat up in Patchogue, NY.
Today, Marcelo's mother Rosario Lucero sat in the courtroom as two of the young Caucasian Crew faced justice. With her surviving son Joselo and daughter Isabel, Rosario Lucero sat three rows behind defendants Nicholas Hausch and Jordan Dasch, who were both sitting with their parents. Hausch's mother was holding her son's arm. The atmosphere was somber and quiet and there were no exchanges between the families.

When asked how she felt about the court proceedings, Mrs. Lucero responded, "I feel sadness for the mothers of those kids, because they're going through a lot of pain, however we are all human beings and we don't have a right to take a life."
The judge adjourned the case until April 1, 2009.
