Shawna Forde and Her Associations with the Minutemen and Other Dangerous Border Watchers!

As my blog has previously reported, Shawna Forde is incarcerated and charged with the crime of murdering 9 year old Brisenia Flores and her father in Arivaca, AZ. For months, we have been discussing the relationship between Shawna Forde, the Minutemen, and other border rogues. Yesterday, Scott North, a reporter from HeraldNet Daily, published an amazing article which details the obviously demented Shawna Forde's connections with the Minutemen and other dangerous Border Watchers, including a former CIA agent.

Highlights describe Forde's relationships with:
1. Bob and Kathy Dameron, minutemen from Washington, participated in border watch events with Shawna. They befriended her, helped her build her website. Participated in Arizona border watches with them. Shawna acted as the MCDC's spokesman. The Damerons were witness to Forde's many lies, exaggerated boasts, her craving for glory and attention. Shawna destroyed their relationship when she was caught stealing from them.
2. Chris Simcox promoted Shawna to statewide leader of the Minutemen in Washington. However the members revolted and voted her out of the group.
3. Doug Parris, director of conservative group The Reagan Wing.
4. Jim Gilchrist, leader of the Minuteman Corp. and their long time relationship.
5. Joe Adams, border watcher. He is a former private investigator from St. Louis whose tough-guy credentials include combat tours with the Marines and federal prosecution for his activities linked to the CIA during the Iran-Contra scandal of the 1980s.
6. Scott Shogren, Minuteman leader from Florida.
7. Mike Carlucci, Seattle are private investigator. Has dozens of emails showing contact between Forde and numerous Minutemen leaders from around the country.
8. Andre Ong, photographer who joined her on a Border Watch. Ong shared the following disturbing event: "One night, tagging along with a few of Shawna Forde's team, the young photojournalist witnessed something that still troubles him. The patrol stopped to check a brushy area for smugglers. In the dark, Forde picked up a couple of rocks and tossed them over the heads of her Minutemen. One rock hit something hard. It sounded like a ricocheting bullet. Convinced they were being shot at, the Minutemen scrambled for cover. Forde quietly laughed behind their backs.
Ong was appalled. "'Have some fun, Andrew,'" he said she told him. "'Have some fun.'"
Later, Forde had her group report to the U.S. Border Patrol that they had been shot at. She also posted a video of the incident on YouTube as evidence of the risks Minutemen were taking to protect the nation's borders

I can usually count on amusement from a band of border vigilantes and their Minuteman-tics. In April 2006, when Sen. John McCain dared unemployed union members to pick lettuce to disprove his contention that Americans won't do the jobs that immigrants do, an outraged group of Minutemen demonstrated outside McCain's office in Phoenix holding heads of lettuce — to show that they could pick lettuce if they had to. The produce was wrapped in cellophane and stamped with a bar code. The protesters picked lettuce all right — in a supermarket.

In October 2006, I wrote a commentary in which I lampooned the Minutemen for prowling "the U.S.-Mexico border chasing Mexicans — admittedly, not an easy thing to do when you're carrying a lawn chair and a cooler of beer." In response, Jim Gilchrist, co-founder of the Minuteman Project, wrote a rebuttal insisting that his volunteers "do not drink on duty." When I tell that story to cops, they usually chuckle at the phrase "on duty."

In February 2007, Gilchrist found himself in what turned into a long and bitter feud with directors of his own organization after they fired him over allegations of fraud, failure to secure nonprofit status, mismanagement and falsifying documents. Gilchrist sued the board, which retained control of the Minuteman name, and the board countersued. Gilchrist later launched a new group, Jim Gilchrist's Minuteman Project.

But there's nothing amusing about what occurred May 30 in the border town of Arivaca, Ariz., about 50 miles south of Tucson. Nine-year-old Brisenia Flores and her father, Raul, were shot and killed by intruders dressed in camouflage and impersonating law enforcement officers. Brisenia's mother, Gina, was also shot but survived.

Officials have charged Shawna Forde, Jason Bush and Albert Gaxiola in the shootings. Forde, a native of Everett, Wash., is the founder of a border-watch group called Minutemen American Defense. Bush is also a member of the group. The Arizona Daily Star, citing a Pima County investigator and court filings, reported last week that Bush had made a "full confession" to the killings and named Forde, Gaxiola and other individuals — still being investigated — as involved in the attack.

While the murders were certainly hateful acts — the girl was reportedly killed to eliminate witnesses — this isn't just a random hate crime. Authorities say it was part of a plot hatched by Forde and the others to rob suspected drug dealers and use the proceeds to fund Minutemen-style activities. The assailants purportedly believed that Raul Flores had a stash of drugs and money in the house, but authorities found no evidence of drug trafficking.

Since the killings, factions of the Minutemen organization have been desperately trying to dissociate themselves from Forde and Bush, attempting to portray them as rogue members who went off the deep end.

Not so fast. The Minutemen shouldn't be allowed to disown Forde, Bush and any other border vigilantes incriminated in the investigation. Far from being outlanders, Forde and Bush were marinated in the vile and racist juices of an anti-illegal immigration movement that often seeks to dehumanize people it considers "illegal alien invaders." (I have been saying the same thing!) And, from media reports, it seems that various factions of the organization welcomed Forde into their ranks over the years.

In fact, according to an alternative newspaper in Everett, a couple of years ago, Forde ran for the city council there unsuccessfully on an anti-illegal immigration platform. In June 2007, Forde co-sponsored an event dubbed the Illegal Immigration Summit where, according to the newspaper, she warned the audience that illegal immigrants would soon "outnumber real Americans" and that one would have to speak Spanish to get a job. The keynote speaker chimed in, warning that a "tsunami" of Mexican immigrants threatened the national identity, that "soft immigration laws" were destroying the country, and that Spanish would be the national language of the United States by 2030.

The speaker at Forde's event? Jim Gilchrist.

Minuteman X has forwarded me more emails from the Minutemen/ANTIs. These emails provide an inside look at the infighting between various minuteman and ANTI groups including arguments between Jeff Schwilk/William Gheen vs those minutemen who support Jim Gilchrist. The only conclusion I come to after reading them is, keep them ALL away from the border. They all need mental health care! You are right Jeff! Unfortunately when you google Minuteman Project and read recent media articles, Gilchrist's close ties with child killer Shawna Forde come up. That's one way to get attention for your group, but its better to actually work WITH law enforcement to get our laws and our border enforced! Good story. Thanks for sharing. New Mexico's big leak is west of Columbus in the "boot heal" area. I spent a weekend in Columbus wiht Radar from PBA scouting over300 miles of desert road around Columbus the first week of May and never found a single track, trail, water bottle, sign, or marker. That is the story to the east.
If you go west from Columbus, it is completely opposite. We had a tenative plan to scout that area with Shawna and a few others. Those have since feel thrugh which is another victory for the illegal invaders and those that support them or who work against the minuteman operations.

Well here's a story of retired Congressman Duncan Hunter at a "ribbon cutting ceremony at the border" at a newly contructed fence on Smuggler's Gulch, which used to be a major smuggling route for illegal aliens, drug lords,rapists, and murderers. Thanks to the pressure of Hunter, Tancredo, and Jim Gilchrist's Minuteman Project, the Bush administration waived environmental laws to complete the final piece of this 3 mile double fence from Smuggler's Gulch to the Pacific Ocean, while groups like ALIPAC and SOS were sitting on their asses collecting donations and just discussing about illegal immigration. While they were talking yapping about it, Gilchrist's Minutemen and women were taking action at the border. I don't think Gheen even knows what the fence looks like because he doesn't care about the double fence. He wants illegals to come here so that he can make more money. CA now has completed the double layer fence. AZ, NM, and TX still have holes in it where there isn't a fence. We should pressure the next Congress for a new fence bill, preferably Duncan Hunter Jr. The bill won't pass in this wackjob liberal Congress.

In 1989 I was married to Anthony (Tony) Eddy. We'd been married 10 1/2 years when he and Shawna (21 at the time) began an affair. She is 10 years younger than I am. Her full name is Shawna Brighton. She bragged about being a prostitute (which obviously attracted my loser husband). When I found out about it, Tony stopped it, but the damage was already done. I filed for divorce.

A month before the divorce was finalized, I got a bill in the mail from the Everett (WA) Clinic which said my pregnancy test was positive. I called and said I hadn't been there for any such test, and they said I had, so I went there in person just to be told that I wasn't Laura Eddy. I talked to Tony a few days later and was telling him of the strange mail and what happened at the Everett Clinic. He then told me that Shawna needed the test and he told her she could use my medical which was through his employment at Bayliner, since I didn't use it because I had my own medical through my employment with Boeing. I was so pissed, I called Bayliner and told them what Tony had done and that they shouldn't pay the bill to the Everett Clinic. We'll that got a ball rolling, and that afternoon Bayliner fired Tony.

Shawna showed up at the gate at my workplace, Boeing, with a small knife and acted like she was stabbing herself in the stomach and she was yelling about killing her baby. I was told she was taken to the hospital. Shawna and Tony got into some kind of altercation after that and he filed assault charges against her.

A notice came in the mail stating that Tony owed Shawna money. It said it was from Kay Anderson of the Snohomish County Clerk's Office. When Tony took the letter to the Clerk's office, I went with him and we were told it was a forgery.

Our divorce became final that week. He called me and told me that he thought she was dangerous. A few weeks later the family told me that Tony married Shawna and dropped the assault charges.

I began receiving bills in the mail from Sears and JC Penney's indicating she stole my identity and had opened accounts in my name. The accounts were closed and I don't know if anything was ever done.

The next time I saw Tony was three years later when he and Shawna were getting divorced. They had 2 kids, Devin and Jazmine. She left them with him.

As soon as the divorce was final, Shawna married Jim Duffey and she took back the kids she had with Tony and Duffey adopted them both. As soon as Duffey found out what kind of person Shawna was, he divorced her. Shawna then married Jim Forde, who divorced her last year after being shot 3 times.

I've been told that Shawna's daughter Jazzy still hangs out with her when she's around, but her son Devin is in Walla Walla prison.

EVERETT -- Controversy over an Everett woman charged with two killings in Arizona now has the national leaders of anti-illegal immigration groups calling one another idiots.
Shawna Forde, 41, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and other crimes in connection with a May 30 raid on an Arivaca, Ariz., family. Killed were Raul Flores, 29, and his daughter, Brisenia, 9. The child's mother also received gunshot wounds, but survived and drove the attackers away in a gun battle that was recorded during a her frantic 911 call to police.

The sheriff's department in Pima County, Ariz., has alleged Forde led the raid believing Flores was a drug trafficker, and she could net money to support her Minutemen American Defense group
Even before the shootings Forde was a polarizing figure for people who endorse the idea that self-styled Minutemen engaged in surveillance and patrols are part of the solution to illegal immigration, human smuggling and drug trafficking along on the U.S.-Mexico border. Forde conducted border watches and patrols in Arizona, and was an ally of Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Orange County, Calif.-based Minutemen Project.

An e-mail obtained by The Herald shows that Gilchrist was one of 17 people Forde apparently wanted contacted if she was arrested or killed after the Arivaca homicides. Last week, Gilchrist acknowledged that he'd been told Forde was wanted for questioning by police prior to her arrest in Arizona. He said he called her about eight days before she was captured, but she denied being in trouble.
He's since publicly withdrawn all support for Forde.

Forde was arrested June 12 by FBI agents and others at a roadblock about a mile from the Sierra Vista, Ariz., ranch owned by Glenn Spencer of American Border Patrol, a group that monitors the border using cameras and aerial surveillance. Spencer last week said Forde was taken into custody after she'd made a brief, uninvited stop at his home. He said he'd broken ties with her a year earlier.

On Monday, William Gheen, president of ALIPAC -- Americans for Legal Immigration -- posted on his group's Web site a repudiation of Gilchrist and Spencer in which he flatly accused them of assisting Forde after the Arivaca killings.
"We warned the nation and all group leaders, including Spencer and Gilchrist, about Shawna Forde many months before these murders," Gheen wrote.
The warnings did appear on Gheen's group's Web site earlier this year and largely regurgitated reports by The Herald that raised questions about Forde's link to a string of violent incidents in Everett. At the time, police were investigating the Dec. 29 shooting of Forde's ex-husband, her claim that she'd was beaten and raped a week later by people she suggested were connected to Mexican drug cartels, and her own gunshot injury Jan. 15 in an Everett alley. Everett police recently said they've ceased investigating Forde's rape report based on insufficient evidence.

Spencer on Monday denied that he got any warning about Forde from Gheen, and asserted that he didn't need one anyway because he'd long before decided against associating with her. After her rape report Spencer wrote that he told his staff again that Forde "was unstable and not welcome as a guest on the ranch."

Spencer added:
"The idea that I would put the reputation of American Border Patrol at risk by assisting someone that I knew to be unstable is outrageous and slanderous ... By making these totally false accusations with no evidence whatsoever to back them up, Mr. Gheen has proven himself to be unprofessional and exploitative of the problems of unfortunate people like Shawna Forde. He is doing this to make money by tearing his 'competitors' down, pure and simple.

"There is really only one way to deal with people like Mr. Gheen and it is not to mince words. To wit: Wm. Gheen is an idiot," he added.
On Gheen's Web site there is more cross fire today, including a post that describes Spencer and an employee as idiots, too.
Gheen has been contacting reporters since Forde's arrest, arguing that readers aren't being told enough about the difference among those in border-watch groups, particularly when it came to support of Forde.
"Outside of the media, to my knowledge, nobody has done more before these murders to stop Shawna Forde," Gheen said of himself during a recent interview. He said his group raised doubts about Forde's claims of being attacked in Everett. He noted that Gilchrist stood by her, even after The Herald published a story detailing the woman's troubled past. The article also contained Forde's acknowledgment that she'd privately been telling police that local street toughs -- not drug cartel killers -- likely were behind the violence involving herself and her ex-husband this winter in Everett.
Questioning Forde's story at the time was the right thing to do, Gheen said.
"If I had not done that, the Shawna story would have gone nuclear through our movement," he said.

Forde was arraigned on the murder charges Monday in Tucson, Ariz. Prosecutors there are considering whether to seek the death penalty.

I've been debating with myself for the last couple of days about blogging about some private emails I have been receiving from an anonymous Minuteman insider. He has shared some insider insights with me about the inner workings of the Minutemen. He is doing so because he is so concerned about all of the corruptness at the top of the National Minutemen organization and the crimes committed by the evil Shawna Forde, Gunny Bush as well as some of the current leaders of the MM national organization.

While some in the Minuteman ranks may believe in their cause, many would say the Leaders of the Minuteman organization are extremely corrupt. As I have said for some time, it is Chris Simcox, Jim Gilchrist, Jeff Schwilk, and other ANTI Leaders (including Tanton, Tancredo, Willie Gheen, etc.) that appear to be corrupt and appear to be leading their organizations into violence, racism and corruptness. Many would say they have created the likes of Shawna Forde and Gunny Bush. Many would say they have created an atmosphere of Hate and Violence. Many would say it is time for these so-called Leaders to step DOWN and OUT of the National Spotlight and go back to the mental homes they came from and seek treatment!

A nine year old girl was murdered and people are trying to politicize it, not to mention harassing, and intimidating someone who is trying to provide accurate information. I will give you the DETAILS, Shawna Forde & others came to Camp Vigilance in August 2008 and presented false MCDC membership identification to our NEW caretaker of one week. They convinced him to open the comm center and proceeded to take photos of camp Vigilance. We were called then about them being on the property and we instructed our caretaker to immediately remove them from the facility. They never performed any operations with ANY MCDC or BPAUX formal or informal operations in CA.
Once we found that the photos were on the Web site I asked to have them removed and explained why and how they were taken under false pretences. That request was honored, but various emails were supposedly sent out to people using the photos where these people requested donations. Our Camp, or CA-MCDC, MCCI or BPAUX had no knowledge of these emails, nor were we ever in favor of these being sent out using our name or facility.
Since that occurrence access to Camp Vigilance has been under a restricted access by Camp leadership only, NO Exceptions, and a select few are permanently restricted from access to camp.
In the event that any of these people on the restricted list attempt to gain access to Camp V facilities, or partake in any activities with MCCI, MCDC-CA or BPAUX they will immediately be TOLD to leave and not return and if they refuse local law enforcement will be notified immediately.

Shawna Forde has attended training at Camp Vigilante, a high-desert training camp operated by Minuteman Civil Defense near Boulevard in San Diego’s East County in 2008, East County Magazine has learned. A second suspect arrested also has ties to Minutemen Civil Defense Corps (MCDC), which operates a Minutemen training facility in East County.

Local Minutemen group have long claimed to oppose violence, while supporting vigilante citizen patrols of the Border.
“It is, of course shocking and horrible, especially with the little child being involved. It takes someone truly monstrous to harm a child,” Campo Minutemen spokesperson Deborah Craig informed ECM in an e-mail. “We have not heard the men involved, however, we have met Shawna Forde,” she revealed in an e-mail interview. “The various media reports seem to be inaccurate with regard to her involvement with other groups.”
Minutemen Civil Defense Corps is based in Arizona and was founded by Chris Simcox, who left when he began his run for United States Senate.“Minutemen Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) maintains a facility in California near Boulevard known as Camp Vigilance," Craig said. "In August of 2008, Shawna Forde came [to] the border at Campo, CA and contacted Campo Minuteman Britt Craig. She did not make any comments to indicate she was unstable or violent,” Forde recalled. “She had a Minutemen Civil Defense Corps badge so she presumably had been vetted by the group. Minutemen Civil Defense Corps charges a fee and does a background check.” According to Deborah Craig, Forde and Campo Minutemen leader Britt Craig went to Camp Vigilance in separate vehicles “where she was given full access by the caretaker. Bush, who goes by the nickname “Gunny”, serves as operations director of MAD according to the group’s website, however the Associated Press reports, he has “recently been living in Arizona and was once associated with the better known and larger Minutemen Civil Defense Corps” which operates Camp Vigilante in East County.

“These Minutemen are violent vigilante groups as I’ve always said, including groups of people in East County,” Enrique Morones, founder of Border Angels in San Diego and a leader in the immigrant rights movement, told East County Magazine. ”Their motivation is hate,” he said, warning that hate speech and vigilantism can lead to violence and in this case, the tragic death of an innocent child. “They have been in the Campo area and at meetings these are part of the racist vigilante minutemen there are also some neo-Nazis in East County now,” he added., “The authorities have been advised.”

Minutemen Leaders Cannot Back Peddle Away from their Long Association with Shawna Forde!

Shawna Forde and her minuteman partner Gunny Bush have been charged with the May 30 murder of Raul Flores and his nine year old daughter Brisenia.

The Minutemen are scurrying away from Forde now. As I have previously reported, Jim Gilchrist, the leader of the Minuteman Project, has had a long association with Forde. Heraldnet.com has reported that Gilchrist made it clear Saturday that his earlier support of Forde should in no way be construed as approving the actions now attributed to her. "Am I going to come to her support at this time? Of course not. How can I?" Gilchrist said.
Chuck Stonex, another MM leader and member of Forde's group Minutemen American Defense, told the Associated Press: "This is not what Minutemen do. Minutemen observe, document and report. This is nothing more than a cold-hearted criminal act, and that is all we want to say."

However, how can the Minutemen back away so quickly when they have coached and prodded Forde in her activities for years?

Take for example the Allied Recon of October, 2008. Forde and dozens of other MMs patrolled the border, taking credit for an arrest made by the border patrol. Pictures were taken of this event and posted on the M.A.D. website. Jim Gilchrist's MMPC website boasts of partnering with Forde on this event. Look at the pictures. These border watches show the minutemen with an arsenal of weapons.

All the MM Leaders from Simcox to Schwilk to Gilchrist to Alipac were boasting on their websites of these border watches, the weapons, the camaraderie of using their night vision goggles, rifles at their side, loaded guns on their hips, looking for illeeeeegals!

Countless dead bodies have been found in that area of southern Arizona over the last several years. The city of Arivaca, the site of the May 30 murders, is close to this location.

Now they are calling Forde a loner? Come on!! They CANNOT backpedal away from this! They created her! They were all in this together.

This vigilantism MUST BE STOPPED!!!

UPDATE: the minutemenamericandefense.org website has been taken down. The MM from this site are disassociating themselves from Shawna Forde and posted the following information. They have also taken down the pictures of their Border Watch (with weapons) from the fall of 2008. It is a good thing I made copies of them. Here is their announcement:
