Tea Party Rodeo Clowns' Last Stand! Koch Brothers, Glenn Beck and Others Display Level of Racism

I am convinced that the Republican Far Right Wing, Tea Party base is comprised of those that have hidden their racism from the public and from themselves. They are former KKK Members, White Nationalists, Hate Groups like John Tanton's F.A.I.R., NumbersUSA, Alipac, (etc), Segregationists, Xenophobes, Misogynists and Gay Bashers. Let's give this group a Name. Let's call them the Rodeo Clowns.

These Rodeo Clowns have very vocal, far right extremist supporters. Their lead supporter is Glenn Beck. I don't believe Glenn Beck has their core hate. Beck is an opportunist. He is the true Side Show Barker, pulling in these Rodeo Clown Crowds. Raising all the ticket prices to reap all of the rewards for himself.

These Rodeo Clowns do NOT comprise the ENTIRE Republican Base. However, these Rodeo Clowns  are the Loudest and the Most Vocal of the Tea Party members and are attempting to DOMINATE and Push Forward their views. Why? Because they believe they are supporting the "Last Stand of the White Man."

From their View: Minorities are NOT Equal. Minorities are Responsible for ALL Crimes. That's why Racial Profiling is OK. That's why they support "Stop and Frisk." They don't care that even though it has been proven by statistics -- 9 out 10 minorities have done nothing wrong and are released during these Stop and Frisks, pundits like the very racist Pat Buchanan say Stop and Frisk is OK because "You Go Where the Ducks Are."

To these racists, Minorities include: Anyone NOT White -- all Blacks, Hispanics, Gays. They also say Women must be kept in their place. They can work, but can't have a voice. If they get pregnant, or are raped, it's their own fault. None of them should get healthcare, contraceptives, or any benefit if they get old. If they do, they somehow believe any benefits they receive are "Off of their Own Paycheck."

Never mind that most of these Rodeo Clowns are ON Social Security and are collecting some type of benefit themselves. When these Rodeo Clowns do it, they feel they are entitled. They figure they paid into it so they are Not Abusers.

The most maddening aspect of these Rodeo Clowns is that they are being Funded AND Manipulated by the Most Extreme (and Fiscally Abusive) 1 % who are USING the Rodeo Clowns to serve their own agenda. The 1% are exemplified by the Koch Brothers and other Very Rich and Powerful Republican Supporters of the Citizens' United legislation.

We are at a Crossroads in America. The 1% are attempting to Manipulate us -- WE THE PEOPLE. It is clear they have been successful in manipulating the Far Right Extremist Rodeo Clowns AND the Side Show Barkers.

At the same time, we are experiencing the Baby Boomers' transition into Retirement and Social Security. This is a Huge Factor.

We have to make a choice in America:
1. Do we Support the 1%:
-- The 1% is exploiting and manipulating the weakest of our Fellow Americans through their own biases.
-- The 1% are strong, powerful and often control the messages in the media and through our politicians.

2. Do WE THE PEOPLE Support a Land of Immigrants -- the Land of the Free -- Home of the Brave? Do WE Truly Believe that ALL PEOPLE are Created Equal?

Do We? Rich or Poor? White or Black? Man or Woman? Gay or Straight? Working or Not? Christian or Not?  We all have to think within our OWN SOUL -- Is this what WE THE PEOPLE believe?

Texas Ted Cruz HATES Latinos. Loves sb1070, Mass Deportation, Big Wall on the Border

Texas Republicans have just elected a Texas Candidate for Senator that HATES Latinos. He is a HINO = Hispanic In Name Only. His name is Ted Cruz. Cruz wants to END the Dream Act, is in favor of Mass Deportation, a Huge Wall and Conspiracy Theories. He loves Glenn Beck, Sheriff Arpaio and is a HINO (Hispanic in Name Only).
In other words, Tea Party candidate Ted Cruz is a racist, tea-party NUT!
From Cruz's own website he says:
"We need leaders who will get serious about enforcing the border: triple the border patrol; use walls, fences, and technology; end sanctuary cities; repeal Obama’s newly ordered amnesty; and end benefits like in-state tuition for illegal aliens."
Nutcase Cruz is good friends with the INSANE Hate Monger Glenn Beck and, together with Beck, advocates an insane conspiracy theory "Agenda 21." (see video at end of this article.)
Plus, according to this article, he wants to END Healthcare, believes in Michelle Bachmann's ANTI Muslim tactics, is ANTI Gay. Plus he is very PROUD of all the executions in Texas.
Ted Cruz is CRAZY Dangerous.
Latinos in Texas: WE CANNOT allow him to be Elected for Senate in Texas!

Teaparty Neanderthals: Nutcase Beck and Looney Limbaugh Continue to Call our President Insulting Names

TeaParty Neanderthals: Nutcase Beck and Looney Limbaugh continue to disrespect our President by calling him insane names. Shameful!

Glenn Beck compared President Obama to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Tuesday's "Fox and Friends," implying that Obama was exhibiting "sign[s] of a dictator." (Can anyone find the faintest whisper of criticism from Beck when Bush said he relished a dictatorship? 'A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it." White House, Jul. 26, 2001)

Meanwhile, Looney Limbaugh disrespectfully called President Obama a Pharoah. "Why didn't Pharaoh Obama see this coming, particularly given his wonderful relationship with this regimes and their people? Obama went over there, made a speech...even grew a quasi-mustache there for the appropriate facial hair."

Limbaugh and Beck should be ashamed of themselves for their disrespect of our President! With all of the strife in the World, now is the time ALL TRUE, Loyal Americans should be Thankful to Be Americans and stand behind our President! Limbaugh and Beck should be ASHAMED of themselves! If they don't like it here, they should move!

Republican and Beck Fan - "Dannie Baker" Set to go to Trial in April for the Chilean Student Murders

Dannie Baker, the former Republican National Committee Volunteer, Glenn Beck enthusiast and the man charged with killing two Chilean students and wounding three others in February 2009 is scheduled to go to trial April 11. Walton County Circuit Judge on Thursday set the trial date. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 27. “We’re going to push for the trial to be in April,” Assistant State Attorney Bobby Elmore said after Wells set the date. “Nothing’s certain because we can’t predict the future. But it’s looking good.”

Baker, 61, is being held at the Walton County Jail. He was arrested Feb. 26, 2009, just hours after he murdered 22-year-old Racine Argandona and 23-year-old Nicholas Corp-Torres at Summer Lake town home complex on Scenic Gulf Drive in Miramar Beach. At the time, he told neighbors he was going to kill Mexican illegal immigrants. The Chilean students -- here in the country legally -- were visiting a friend when lawmen say Baker fired a rifle through one of the unit’s windows about 1:45 a.m.

Three other students, Sebastian Arizaga-Suarez, David Bilboa-Meza and Francisco Cofre-Fernandez were wounded in the shooting. After the shooting, Baker barricaded himself in his town home at the same complex until he surrendered shortly after 6 a.m., according to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

Baker is charged with two counts of premeditated first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, three counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm and shooting into an occupied building. Baker was committed to Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee for mental evaluation and treatment for over a year, attempting to play the "crazy card." However, much to Baker's disappointment, he was determined competent in August 2010 to stand trial.

The three students who were wounded returned to Chile. Elmore said they likely will be called to testify at Baker’s trial. Elmore said the state will seek the death penalty.

Roberto Rivera of Destin spoke with Elmore after the date was set. “From what I’ve been told it looks good for April,” said Rivera, who has kept in touch with two of the students who were wounded. “He can still possibly relapse and the trial won’t begin. For the family, this is going to be a very significant event.

We all thought he would be playing the crazy card for five years.” Rivera looked around the courtroom and shook his head. He said media attention has declined since the shootings occurred, but the case should resonate with people throughout the community. “This was a national disaster,” he said. “Those kids have had medical issues, psychological issues, and I’m the only one here (for this case). It’s disgraceful. “He (Baker) has to pay for what he’s done, and everyone should care about that.”

Note to Readers: "Immigration Talk with a Mexican American" will continue to follow this trial until the Court Decision and Penalty Phase are announced.

Guest Voz: Dana Milbank - Glenn Beck Motivates Far Right Extremists to Violence

Guest Voz: Dana Milbank
Glenn Beck has a friend in California.
"I would've never started watching Fox News if it wasn't for the fact that Beck was on there," says this friend, Byron Williams. "And it was the things he did, it was the things he exposed, that blew my mind." "I do enjoy Glenn Beck," Williams also says, "and the reason why I enjoy that is because... no other channel will speak about the same things that he's talking about, and if you go and investigate those things you'll find out that they're true."

Unfortunately for Beck, this satisfied viewer currently resides at the Santa Rita Jail near Oakland and stands accused of a freeway shootout with police. Williams pleaded not guilty to four counts of attempted murder of a police officer. But according to court documents, he said he had been on a mission to kill people at the liberal Tides Foundation, which happens to be a favorite Beck target.

In August, I wrote that while it's not fair to blame Beck for violence committted by his fans, he would do well to stop encouraging extremists. Now, Williams has granted a pair of jailhouse interviews, one with the conservative Examiner.com and one to be published soon by the liberal group Media Matters. These recorded exchanges, which I have reviewed, show precisely why Beck is dangerous: because his is the one voice in the mass media that validates conspiracy theories held by the unstable. The Examiner, in an article published this week, exonerated Beck by pointing to Williams's statement that "I know Beck continuously talks about peaceful resolution but I have constantly disagreed. This, however, misses the point. It's not that Beck is directly advocating violence (he might be in Santa Rita himself if he did that) but he's giving voice and legitimacy to the violent fringe.

"Beck is going to deny everything about violent approach, deny everything about conspiracies," Williams told the freelance journalist John Hamilton, who did the interview to be published by Media Matters. "But he'll give you every reason to believe it. He's protecting himself, and you can't blame him for that. So, but I understand what he's doing." Listening to Beck, Williams explained, "you can pick up ideas and you can get on your Internet and just verify it."

One of the ideas from Beck that Williams "verified" involved the liberal billionaire George Soros. Williams said he was inspired by Beck's shows about Soros (described by Beck as a currency manip-ulator of Jewish ancestry who has "disturbing hair in his nose"). Beck accused President Obama of lending $2 billion to Brazil's oil company Petrobras just after Soros upped his stake in the company.

This turned out to be a false Internet rumor that Beck had amplified, but Williams did more research and concluded that Soros and Obama had sabotaged the BP oil well in the Gulf of Mexico to cause the oil spill and thereby help Petrobras. This, Williams said, was his main source of anger before the alleged shoot-out. "With the exception of Beck, not once did even Fox report on things like Soros investing a billion dollars in Petrobras, or not once did they mention the fact that Obama sent them $2 billion," he noted. "Beck will not say it was a contracted hit" on the BP well by Obama and Soros, Williams said, "but he'll give you every ounce of evidence you can possibly need to make that assumption yourself."

Williams, as you'd expect, is not an entirely reliable witness. At one point, he complains that Beck "criticizes all the conspiracy theories," but at other points he hails Beck for embracing them. Still, this part rings true: The prisoner told the Examiner that he already knew about Tides before he heard Beck speak about it in June; rather, "to me it was more of a confirmation of what I already knew," he said.

Exactly. Beck, who has encouraged his followers to hear what he is saying "between the sentences" he actually utters, gave legitimacy to Williams's conspiracy theories. "So now they've got Beck labeled as this guy that is trying to incite violence, and what I say is that if the truth incites violence, it means that we've been living too long in the lies," Williams told Hamilton. "You know, when you become unemployed, desperate, you can no longer pay your bills... what do you think is gonna happen? You know, for crying out loud. It's gonna get worse, and more and more people are gonna get desperate."

Particularly if they have an enabler in the mass media.

Glenn Beck Admits He LIED at DC Rally!

Glenn Beck admitted Thursday that he LIED because he "thought it would be a little easier."

During his "Take Back the Civil Rights Movement Rally" Beck LIED claiming he held George Washington's handwritten first Inaugural Address in his hands at the National Archives, but a spokeswoman at the institution said he did NO such thing. Keith Olbermann, Ed Schultz and others called him out for the fabrication.

Beck admitted his LIE: "I thought it would be a little easier in the speech," Beck said, than to go into the following elaborate explanation (via Mediaite):

"YES. I LIED. I NEVER TOUCHED THE DOCUMENTS. Yesterday I went to the National Archives, and they opened up the vault, and they put on their gloves and then they put it on a tray. They wheeled it over and it's all in this hard plastic and you're sitting down at a table and you can't, because of Sandy Berger, I had a long conversation with him about this, you can't actually touch any of the documents, these are very very rare. So what they do, they have it in this plastic thing and they hold them right in front of you, you can't touch them but then you can say 'can you turn it over,' and then they turn it over for you and then you look at it. I thought it was a little clumsy to explain it that way."

Eggs for Breakfast? Why Beck's Sponsors, the Koch Brothers, are WRONG! We Need Regulations!

Boston.com Reports: FDA says 2 egg farms violated standards
WASHINGTON — Food and Drug Administration investigators have found rodents, seeping manure, and even maggots at the Iowa egg farms believed to be responsible for as many as 1,500 cases of salmonella poisoning. FDA officials released their initial observations of the investigations at Wright County Egg and Hillandale Farms yesterday. The two farms recalled more than half a billion eggs after salmonella illnesses were linked to their products earlier this month.

The reports show many different possible sources of contamination at both farms, including rodent, bug, and wild bird infestation, uncontained manure, holes in walls, and other problems that could have caused the outbreak. Several positive samples of salmonella have been found at both farms.

The agency released the initial observations as their investigations concluded yesterday. Officials said they still cannot speculate on the cause of the outbreak but said the farms not only violated their own standards but also new egg rules put in place this summer.

Among the observations of the investigators:
■ Live rodents and mice at both farms;
■ Structural damage and holes in many locations at both farms, allowing wildlife access;
■ Escaped chickens tracking manure through the houses;
■ Employees not changing clothing properly when moving from one location to another and not sanitizing equipment properly;
■ Dead and live maggots “too numerous to count’’ on the manure pit floor in one location at Wright County Egg;
■ Manure piled 4 to 8 feet high in five locations at Wright County Egg, pushing open doors that allowed wildlife to enter the laying houses;
■ Nonchicken feathers in a laying house and wild birds flying in and out of two facilities at Wright County Egg;
■ Manure seeping through the foundation to the outside of laying houses in 13 locations at Wright County Egg;
■ Rusted holes in feed bins and birds flying over the feed bins at Wright County Egg.

Chris Rock is Right: Tea Party Activists Support Glenn Beck's Segregationist Views

Chris Rock was right when he said, "They've been asking me to join them in their fight against the Mexicans but I ain't gonna do it because I know when they kick out all the Mexicans, we're Next!"

Rock is absolutely right and this is proven in the statements of Tea Party Champion Glenn Beck. Now Tea Party activists are saying they agree with Beck! Beck and his taking back the Civil Rights Movement!

Channeling Elmer Gantry: Gantry Shares with me his Discussion with Glenn Beck and Beck's True Motives

I remember watching the movie Elmer Gantry when I was a little girl. Burt Lancaster personified the charlatan, the huckster. My 11 year old eyes could not believe anyone could be that evil, that duplicitous, that Machiavellian.
Since I was such a fan of the movie, Elmer decided to speak to me last evening and share with me his discussion with Glenn Beck as Beck prepared for the 8-28 "Take Back the Civil Rights Movement" rally.
DPS (Dee Perez Scott): Welcome to our forum Elmer. Glad to have you here. Yesterday was Glenn Beck's "Take Back the Civil Rights Movement" rally and we understand that he channelled you in preparing for the event.
EG (Elmer Gantry): Yes, Dee. That's True. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah!
DPS: Elmer, Please share with us the discussions you have had with Beck.
EG: Hallelujah girl. Yes. I will share my discussions with him. That Beck is truly a character, an Arrogant man. A man much like myself. He first reached out to me during one of his radio shows. Hallelujah! He calls me Lord. Why? Because he is so much like myself. What he told me was truly profound. He said he wanted to Channel my style because he was about to embark on the Carney Event of his life.
DPS: Carney Event?
EG: Praise the Lord. Yes. Carney Event. That is what we do child! That is what we do!! We are like the Carneys on the Midway of Life! Beck's Midway is the Heartland of America, the Tea Parties. Like all Carney's, we are funded by a higher power, the owners of our message. In Beck's case, Rupert Murdoch and the Koch Brothers.
DPS: Tell us more.
EG: Thank you for the opportunity Darlin! Beck needs to be exposed for the remarkable, truly remarkable Huckster that he is. He has a magnetic power. He draws the naive and uninformed, like any good Carney.
His magnetism is even stronger, due to the many conflicts in his life. I cannot say these words aloud. Let me whisper them to you girl! pssst whisper whisper...family...pssst..whisper whisper...mental illness...pssst whisper.. suicide..whisper.....drugs....power....whisper...brainwash racists......teapartiers....whisper... shhhhtttt.
DPS: Oh My!
EG: Yes!!! It is all True! It is ALL True! And now, this poor sick Beck boy is being funded by the richest powers in the world, all for their OWN EVIL PURPOSE! By Murdoch who owns Fox News! By the Koch Brothers... the most extreme, richest, elitist, demagogues in the world!
Beck shared with me that when he colluded with the Koch brothers that they intentionally chose Martin Luther King. They intentionally chose demonizing the Civil Rights Movement. Their plan was to invoke what was previously treated as sacred ground. "Let's make the Blacks angry. Let's take away Martin Luther King. Let's take back the Civil Rights Movement. Let's use the racist element of the Tea Party Movement, the White Nationalists. Those that HATE the President because he is Black. Let's use Christianity. Let's use God against them. Let's pretend to preach." That is why they had Beck channel me. They knew I had done the same to steal money from my followers. In fact, the evil Koch brothers are anxious to stir up a Race War!
DPS: Wow! This is fantastic. Too much to absorb at once. But tell me Elmer. Even you, with all of your evil ways, your evil manipulation, greed and duplicitousness, have never sunk to such lows. Why are YOU involved with all of these evil demagogues?

EG: Well it was Beck himself that convinced me. Apparently he is a FAN of mine. He himself says he is a carney. He shared with me his need for fame. He shared with me that he had numerous, blind following fans. He came to me and told me about the deep pocketed protagonists, including Murdoch and the Koch Brothers. They approached Beck. They met with him in private. They told him of their agenda and the billions they were willing to invest in him. They shared with him that they wanted to elevate his fame to the level of demigod. What some may call the Anti-Christ. It was just too much for Beck, or anyone, to absorb. They paid him billions and promised him fame and glory. How could he refuse? How could ANYONE refuse??
DPS: I agree with you that with Beck's need for attention due to all the unfortunate things that happened in his childhood AND his mental illness that he was looking for his own personal fame, his own rationalization that he was "OK" that he took such a visible job in the media and with his mental illness, continued to manifest itself, he continued to seek attention and rationalization in what he was attempting to accomplish. I can understand why he is YOUR fan... But why EG, Why are you allowing him to use YOUR Name?
EG: You have me here. Frankly. Right now. I am just curious about what they are planning next in their agenda. I am curious why Murdoch or the Koch brothers have brought in Beck. Why are they having a nutcase, Beck, push their radical agenda. They refuse to have any obvious connection to him. YET, they are putting him and the other radical -- Palin (who sees Russia from her backyard) represent their agenda. Murdoch & the Koch brothers have made sure no one knows their connections.
DPS: True! Very True!
EG: And, much more..now they have Beck channeling Martin Luther King,taking over and MINIMIZING the Civil Rights Movement. Who Better than Beck! The Left and Center believe he is INSANE. The right and Teapartiers believe he is the next Messiah. Who better to say he is channeling Martin Luther King? Who better to say he is taking over the Civil Rights Movement? What does he have to lose? The left and middle think he is crazy. The Tea Partiers have chosen him as their leader. They believe anything he says as Gospel. There is no one left to agree or dispute him. But think of this. The MESSAGE IS OUT THERE. How better to DIVIDE the Country.
DPS: Wow! When you say it, it makes so much sense. Of course the Koch's and Murdoch would use Beck. This is a brilliant plan.
I do have one question for you though Elmer.
EG: What is that girl?
DPS: Are you a Glenn Beck supporter?
EG: Heh Heh Heh! Of course not. He is but a mentally ill pawn of the rich, right wing elitists. In my heart of hearts, I still support the People, as long as I can make money out of it, but I would NEVER, EVER support the right wing extremists. Beck, on the other hand, will continue to do the bidding of the evil right wingers. Why? Because the poor boy is far too demented. He is still seeking his own fame and glory. However, he will continue to be lost until he finds his OWN redemption!

DPS: Elmer, I want to thank you for our interview. You have provided me several insights, especially into the mindset of Glenn Beck.
EG: Dee, you are most welcome. I read your site every day and you are the only person who truly has their fingers on the pulse of what is happening in America.
DPS: I am humbled by your words. (wink)

The Billionaires Bankrolling Charlatan Glenn Beck & the Tea Party

Reference: New Yorker & NY Times
Billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch founded and fund the tea party group "Americans for Prosperity Foundation." The AFP funded Glenn Beck's "Take the Civil Rights Movement Back from Black Americans" rally this weekend. The Koch brothers also fund extremist Republican Dick Armey's Freedom Works Tea Party group. Both AFP and FW organized the well-staged Beck Tea Party event this weekend.

In Washington, the Koch brothers are best known as those that have repeatedly funded stealth attacks on the federal government, and on the Obama Administration in particular. David Koch and his brother Charles own Koch Industries, a conglomerate, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, whose annual revenues are estimated to be a hundred billion dollars. The Kochs operate oil refineries in Alaska, Texas, and Minnesota, and control some four thousand miles of pipeline. Koch Industries owns Brawny paper towels, Dixie cups, Georgia-Pacific lumber, Stainmaster carpet, and Lycra, among other products. Forbes ranks it as the second-largest private company in the country, after Cargill, and its consistent profitability has made David and Charles Koch— among the richest men in America. Their combined fortune of thirty-five billion dollars is exceeded only by those of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

The Kochs believe in drastically lower personal and corporate taxes, minimal social services for the needy, and much less oversight of industry—especially environmental regulation. Their corporation significantly benefits from reduced government regulations. In a study released this spring, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst’s Political Economy Research Institute named Koch Industries one of the top ten air polluters in the United States. And Greenpeace issued a report identifying the company as a “kingpin of climate science denial.” The report showed that, from 2005 to 2008, the Kochs vastly outdid ExxonMobil in giving money to organizations fighting legislation related to climate change, underwriting a huge network of foundations, think tanks, and political front groups. Indeed, the brothers have funded opposition campaigns against so many Obama Administration policies—from health-care reform to the economic-stimulus program—that, in political circles, their ideological network is known as the Kochtopus. Charles Lewis, the founder of the Center for Public Integrity, a nonpartisan watchdog group, said, “The Kochs are on a whole different level. There’s no one else who has spent this much money. The sheer dimension of it is what sets them apart. The Koch brothers have a pattern of lawbreaking, political manipulation, and obfuscation. I’ve been in Washington since Watergate, and I’ve never seen anything like it. They are the Standard Oil of our times.

The Koch brothers are Founders and funders of the Right Wing Extremist Tea Party group "Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFP)—an organization that David Koch started, in 2004. The other major sponsor of the Tea Party movement is Dick Armey’s FreedomWorks, which, like Americans for Prosperity, is promoting Beck's events in Washington this weekend. Under its original name, Citizens for a Sound Economy, FreedomWorks received $12 million from Koch family foundations. Using tax records, researchers found that Koch-controlled foundations gave out $196 million from 1998 to 2008, much of it to conservative causes and institutions. That figure doesn’t include $50 million in Koch Industries lobbying and $4.8 million in campaign contributions by its political action committee, putting it first among energy company peers like Exxon Mobil and Chevron. Since tax law permits anonymous personal donations to nonprofit political groups, these figures may understate the case. The Kochs surely match the in-kind donations the Tea Party receives in free promotion 24/7 from Murdoch’s Fox News, where both Beck and Palin are on the payroll.

In the 1980s, when David Koch ran to the right of Reagan as vice president on the 1980 Libertarian ticket (it polled 1 percent), his campaign called for the abolition not just of Social Security, federal regulatory agencies and welfare but also of the F.B.I., the C.I.A., and public schoolsin other words, any government enterprise that would either inhibit his business profits or increase his taxes. He hasn’t changed. Koch-supported lobbyists, foundations and political operatives are at the center of climate-science denial — a cause that forestalls threats to Koch Industries’ vast fossil fuel business. While Koch foundations donate to cancer hospitals like Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York, Koch Industries has been lobbying to stop the Environmental Protection Agency from classifying another product important to its bottom line, formaldehyde, as a “known carcinogen” in humans (which it is).

Tea Partiers may share the Kochs’ detestation of taxes, big government and their hatred of President Obama. But there’s a difference between mainstream conservatism and a fringe agenda that tilts completely toward big business, whether on Wall Street or in the Gulf of Mexico, while dismantling fundamental government safety nets designed to protect the unemployed, public health, workplace safety and the subsistence of the elderly.

Yet inexorably the Koch agenda is morphing into the G.O.P. agenda, as articulated by current Republican members of Congress, including the putative next speaker of the House, John Boehner, and Tea Party Senate candidates like Rand Paul, Sharron Angle, and the new kid on the block, Alaska’s anti-Medicaid, anti-unemployment insurance Palin protégé, Joe Miller. Their program opposes a federal deficit, but has no objection to running up trillions in red ink in tax cuts to corporations and the superrich; apologizes to corporate malefactors like BP and derides money put in escrow for oil spill victims as a “slush fund”; opposes the extension of unemployment benefits; and calls for a freeze on federal regulations in an era when abuses in the oil, financial, mining, pharmaceutical and even egg industries (among others) have been outrageous.

The Koch brothers must be laughing all the way to the bank knowing that working (Tea Party) Americans are aiding and abetting their selfish interests. And surely Murdoch is snickering at those protesting the “ground zero mosque.” Last week on “Fox and Friends,” the Bush administration flacks Dan Senor and Dana Perino attacked a supposedly terrorism-tainted Saudi prince whose foundation might contribute to the Islamic center. But as “The Daily Show” keeps pointing out, these Fox bloviators never acknowledge that the evil prince they’re bashing, Walid bin Talal, is not only the biggest non-Murdoch shareholder in Fox News’s parent company (he owns 7 percent of News Corporation) and the recipient of Murdoch mammoth investments in Saudi Arabia but also the subject of lionization elsewhere on Fox.

No less a Murdoch factotum than Neil Cavuto slobbered over bin Talal in a Fox Business Channel interview as recently as January, with nary a question about his supposed terrorist ties. Instead, bin Talal praised Obama’s stance on terrorism and even endorsed the Democrats’ goal of universal health insurance. Do any of the Fox-watching protesters at the “ground zero mosque” know that Fox’s profits are flowing to a Obama-sympathizing Saudi billionaire in bed with Murdoch? As Jon Stewart summed it up, the protesters who want “to cut off funding to the ‘terror mosque’ ” are aiding that funding by watching Fox and enhancing bin Talal’s News Corp. holdings.

The White House has expressed frustration that the names of Tea Party sponsors -- the Koch Brothers -- have largely eluded public notice. David Axelrod, Obama’s senior adviser, said, “What they don’t say is that, in part, this is a grassroots citizens’ movement brought to you by a bunch of oil billionaires” -- like the Koch Brothers who have an agenda!

Glenn Beck Channels Elmer Gantry at his "Take Back Civil Rights Movement" Rally Today

I saw Glenn Beck's speech today during his "Take Back the Civil Rights Movement" rally in DC. During his speech, he keeps referring to hearing voices... of "him" talking to Beck. I was trying to figure out who "him" was. I have finally figured it out. The "him" is Elmer Gantry. As I watched Beck speak at the rally, I saw him channel Elmer Gantry. He personified him. He preached like him, sang like him, huckstered like him. Beck IS Elmer Gantry, a charlatan extraordinaire.

Who is Elmer Gantry? CLICK
HERE and HERE to watch two clips of this movie. For anyone who has not seen the movie, Elmer Gantry is a 1960 drama film about a con man and a female evangelist selling religion to small town (All White - Tea Party) America.

Guest Voz - The RB Blog: An Attendee of the Rally

Blogger Observations from Glenn Beck's "Take back the Civil Rights Movement" Rally.
. A good many of the people there had on some kind of American flag paraphernalia on or around them. I saw more than a few confederate t-shirts, hats and small flags. Lots of Tea Party gear and other assorted political stuff.
. I did see some non-white people in the crowd supporting the rally, but it was only a handful. All in all, I saw far more people of color working the vending carts then participating in the event.
. I only caught a few bits of Palin, but in her speech, she likened the rally participants to the civil rights activists who came to the Mall in 1963 to hear King's historic I have a Dream speech. She said it would be the same spirit that helped civil rights activists overcome oppression, discrimination and violence would help the participants of this rally as well. She then repeated some lines from King's speech to wild applause. I have to say it was a bit surreal, a bit like being in a Lewis Carroll novel; watching Sarah Palin invoke the spirit of Dr. King, with his words, on this day, in front of a sea of white faces, to roaring chants of USA! USA! USA! It just didn't seem to fit, and it took my brain a minute to grasp the utter historical mind fuck unfolding in front of me.

. It was obvious to me that Palin and Beck were attempting to take on the role of leaders of a the new 'oppressed' people, contrived to fit the theme of Dr. King's 1963 speech. Phrases like 'what was once ours' and ' take back America' and 'the way things were' and 'trampled on our rights' were heard over and over, and not just by the speakers. Beck's message was in part that the problems that the US suffers today are due in large part to the loss of or lack of faith. He was constantly invoking faith as the weapon with which they, the newly oppressed, could rise and overcome. Overcoming what or whom, he did not say. Palin, in the same manner, likened the attendees of the rally as being in the same conundrum as those from the civil rights movement in the 60's.

. In all honesty, I thought it was quite disrespectful to see Palin and Beck use the civil rights movement and King as a comparison to their own political motives and followers. Furthermore, I found the comparisons being drawn between Beck and the conservatives and Lincoln and the Union in 1863 a bit like comparing an arm wrestling match to the Battle of Stalingrad. It was all very much a pep rally, playing on the emotional strings of the attendees. I think I can boil the entire political message of the rally as one big giant ugly non sequitur. There is a saying that Christians like to use that goes, "Hate the sin, not the sinner." If anything, today I understood what that means from a non Christian perspective.

More Pictures from Beck's "Take Back the Civil Rights Movement from Blacks" Rally

The "Let Freedom Rain" Blog had some pretty good pictures of the attendees of Beck's "Let's Take the Civil Rights Movement back from Blacks" Rally today. Though Beck told his White Audience NOT to carry their signs, it looks like many of them carried their signs on their t-shirts!

This blogger also noted that Beck was sharp enough to hire a few Black speakers and invited (paid) a few to sit in the front rows, but, as we all saw, 99.9% of the audience was all white. (go figure) Makes sense when you READ their t-shirts.

Beck's Right Wing Extremist Tea-Party "Take Back the Civil Rights Movement" Rally Is ALL WHITE (As Predicted) With only a Few Thousand Attending!

Right Wing Extremist Glenn Beck's "Take Back the Civil Rights Movement" Rally is not going as well as he predicted. Beck predicted 200,000 people would attend. The Washington Post is reporting that at 10:00 am ET this morning, when the event was scheduled to start, only a few thousand were there.

The Post reported that at 8 a.m., a few thousand people wearing "Restoring Honor" shirts were streaming down 22nd street from the Foggy Bottom Metro stop, running smack into students from George Washington University's move-in day. At the GW Deli, a popular sandwich shop, an employee said that two rally participants threw sandwiches in his face and refused to pay at the register because they didn't want to pay taxes on the food.

(All White) People came to the Beck rally carried lawn chairs and canes, backpacks and lunch sacks. One man planted an American flag on one side of his hat and a "Don't Tread on Me" flag on the other. Messages on the shirts of ralliers included: "I can see November from my house," "Restoring honor starts here," and "RECESSION: When your neighbor loses his job. DEPRESSION: When you lose your job. RECOVERY: When Obama loses his job."

Looking more like the "Glenn Beck Fan Club", many came just to pay homage to their hero of the emboldened "tea party" movement. At 8:50 a.m., as the crowd spotted him near the Lincoln Memorial, people chanted: "We love Glenn! We love Glenn!"
"I watch Glenn Beck," said Kathy Thomas, 70, a dress-maker from Bridgewater, N.J. "I love Glenn Beck. I have a lot of admiration for the man. We feel that he's honest, sincere and really cares about the country and the people who are in it."
Beck said: "This is a moment, quite honestly, that I think we reclaim the civil rights movement."

Looking over the pictures of the event, not one non-white face was seen. There were few signs, but t-shirts blazed their extreme right, anti-obama politics. One of the pictures taken by the Washington Post of the event depicts a man carrying what appears to be a side-arm. Who knows how many others were "carrying."
