Stop the Madness! Stop Racial Profiling Violence by Police and Violence Against Police!

I've been reading about the Police Shootings and the shooting of police, the protests by "the people" and by "the police." Most recently, my viewers have encouraged me to read the case of "Omar Abrego", a young father of 3 who was beaten to death by police after a traffic stop.

My uncle was a police officer. I also had a nephew killed by the police.

I DO NOT support the shootings.

There are good cops and bad cops.
There are good people and bad people.
Racial Profiling happens.
There are violent people. There are innocent people.
There is TOO MUCH force by the Police.
There is TOO MUCH crime by the criminals.
Sometimes innocent people are caught up in the mix.Too often minorities are shot and killed and beaten down by police.
Sometimes crazy people shoot police.

The media exploits for ratings.
Fox News BLAMES the minorities.
Rev Al BLAMES the cops.

I don't agree with the Police UNION.
They are causing Divide where they should be promoting dialogue.
I wish the media would promote DIALOGUE.

My View:
As Cesar Chavez said --
"It is possible to become discouraged about the injustice we see everywhere. But God did NOT promise us that the world would be Humane and Just. He gave us the gift of life and allows us to choose the way we will use our limited time on earth!"

We MUST speak out and voice our Support Against Violence and Injustice whether done by Police or by the people. It is only through openness and dialogue that we will STOP the Madness!!

Brave Latinas Kicked Arpaio out of Hispanic Conference!

Brave Latinas from the Hispanic Women’s Corporation Kicked Out Sheriff Joe Arpaio from their Conference. Flagrant Arpaio wanted to put up a Recruitment Booth at the Latinas' Conference, however Conference Officials, citing Arpaio's court ruling for racially profiling of Latinos as their reason for ousting the convicted Racial Profiler.

"The conference is about leading and inspiring Latina professionals," said Leticia de la Vara, a spokeswoman for the HWC, according to the Associated Press. "Arpaio does not fit that mold, so it was a pretty easy decision on why we would go forward with that."

Angry Arpaio lashed out at the Hispanic group in a press release for denying his office’s request to put up the booth, calling the decision “politically motivated.”

A federal court ruled in May that Sheriff Arpaio’s office had systematically targeted Latinos in its efforts to enforce federal immigration law, even after his office lost that authority in 2009.

Boycott Florida! Boycott ANY State that Passes the Stand Your Ground Law!

As  grandmother, I am so saddened by what I am seeing following the Trayvon Martin Murder Case. Now the Jurors are beginning to provide us the behind the scenes happenings as to why they made their "Not Guilty" decision. What they are revealing is Mind Boggling. It is proving my greatest fear. Children, especially children of color, are NOT Safe in our society.

All Humanitarians in our Country should BOYCOTT Florida! We should Stand Strong and ensure that Florida LISTENS to our Message. The only method they understand is through their Pocket Books. That means we must BOYCOTT FLORIDA! Don't Vacation There. Don't shop on line there. Stop Funding Florida and their Racial Profiling Ways!

White Juror B37 (part of an All White jury) was on CNN last night and told us what all the White Jurors thought as they made their decision about the Trayvon Murder case. Her interview makes it abundantly clear that the jury was NOT properly selected. They were ALL biased against minorities.

White Juror B37 sympathized with "George." They believed "George" when he claimed Trayvon Martin attacked him. ALL of the White Jurors disregarded the testimony of Trayvon's friend Rachel Jeantel. Juror B37 said she NEVER BELIEVED Jenteal. She said she thought she was NOT credible.  She said (in a very patronizing way) that she "felt sorry" for Jeantel. She was "inarticulate." She didn't understand Jeantel. (Of course Juror B37 is very rich and has a rich lawyer husband.)

Juror B37 related to "George" as she continued, "I think George is a man whose heart was in the right place, but just got displaced by the vandalism in the neighborhoods, and wanted to "Catch Them!"

Juror B37 added, "But I think his heart was in the right place. It just went terribly wrong." If anything, George was guilty of not using "good judgment," she said.
"When he was in the car, and he had called 911, he shouldn't have gotten out of that car," she said.
She also said she believes Martin threw the first punch in the confrontation that followed.
"I think George got in a little bit too deep, which he shouldn't have been there. But Trayvon decided that he wasn't going to let him scare him ... and I think Trayvon got mad and attacked him," she said.
White Juror B37 said "Georgefelt his life was in danger before shooting Martin, and she felt it was "George's voice" that was heard screaming for help in 911 calls, the juror said she believes. "He (George) had a right to defend himself," she said. "If he felt threatened that his life was going to be taken away from him, or he was going to have bodily harm, he had a right."
 
It is very clear. Juror B37, one of the Jurors who supposedly was one of the 3 who initially wanted to convict Zimmerman, is a White Elitist who DOES NOT and CAN NOT relate to minorities. She admittedly TOTALLY DISREGARDED the testimony of Rachel Jeantel. She couldn't even understand her. Instead, she and ALL OTHER WHITE JURORS Immediately Related to George Zimmerman.
 
I blame Juror B37 and ALL OTHER racist jurors being on the jury -- for the Verdict.
It is very clear. The Defense CONNECTED with the Lilly White Racist Jurors.

It is also very clear that the Prosecution wanted this Trial OFF of Their List.
They treated this trial as a checklist.
They wanted this case OFF of their trial list. They wanted this OVER.
The Prosecution did get this trial "over!"
Unfortunabely, a child is DEAD and the Killer is walking the street. "George" also received his gun back.

For those that are defending George Zimmerman, the man who Killed a young teenager, Trayvon Martin, please look at the picture of the young, dead teenager. The prosecutor showed them to the jury on Friday. The media hasn't shown them until now.

While the right wing media is attempting to portray young Trayvon as a black thug who attacked Zimmerman, the pictures tell what actually happened.

Young Trayvon was coming home from the store going to his Dad's apartment a few doors down.
He wore skinny jeans and a gray hoodie.

So young. So innocent.
Shot dead. He lay on the grass.
No blood on him.
No scratched up fists.
No sweat pouring down.
Not scary looking. Just an innocent young boy, walking home. Shot dead on his way home.

Racists Attack Talented American Latino Child Singing American Anthem at Spurs Game!

I am so upset. So many Latino Americans just like me are SO Upset! Latinos across America are Angry. We are blogging and tweeting across America!
This issue makes me very angry!
Last night, a very talented American child of Latino descent sang the National Anthem at a Spurs game in San Antonio. Afterwards, hundreds of racists tweeted or facebooked that this innocent child was "Illeegal," a "Wetback," a "Mexican," and many other RACISTS tweets.

What kind of country is this? When an innocent child cannot sing the National Anthem? How many racists are there in America? Those tweeting were Black and White. Those tweeting spewed Hate and vicious attacks against this talented  young boy.

You can't help but ask why?
Their responses are from the same people that also attack Comprehensive Immigration Reform, support Racial Profiling Laws, and viciously attack ALL Latinos.
What kind of America is this?
This is EXACTLY WHY we Latinos will NEVER Vote for a those who support this type of rhetoric or Racial Profiling bills.
These people must be stopped.
WE THE PEOPLE can stop them with a VOTE for Comprehensive Immigration Reform!!

Nativist Republicans are Blocking Immigration Reform in Congress! Demand No Healthcare and Border Enforcement First!

ABC News is reporting House Republicans are Blocking the passage of the Gang of Eight's Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR) bill. These Republicans are demanding that newly legalized workers now working in the shadows should have no access to government-sponsored health care programs during their 15-year pathway to citizenship. Democrats say that since these newly legalized immigrants would be paying taxes they should be eligible for benefits.

The Republican's BLOCKAGE of the Bill is not expected to be solved. Additionally, Republicans are insisting that any Immigration Reform bills will move forward in a piecemeal fashion starting with increased Border Enforcement. Read this to mean the passage of a National Immigration Bill similar to Arizona's infamous Racial Profile bill "sb1070."

This latest development represents a huge blow to immigration reform advocates because the House is likely to pass several smaller bills that address Secure Borders, but would not include a pathway to citizenship. It creates a much longer and arduous legislative road to a bill President Obama would be willing to sign.

Arpaio GUILTY of Racial Profiling!

U.S. District Judge Murray Snow issued the ruling Friday: Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has engaged in racial profiling and must not use Hispanic ancestry as a factor when making law-enforcement decisions.

The trial examined Arpaio's longstanding emphasis on immigration enforcement which led deputies to target Latino drivers based on their race, and that by doing so, they violated the constitutional rights of Latinos in Maricopa County residents.

Dan Pochoda of the Arizona chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union called the ruling “a real vindication for the community. It was a terrific win — it was a very solid, comprehensive piece of work, and clearly demonstrated the unconstitutionality from top to bottom at MCSO for many years."

The Hispanic citizens that brought the racial-profiling lawsuit against the Sheriff’s Office never sought monetary damages. Instead, the group asked for the court to issue injunctions barring Arpaio’s office from discriminatory policing. Judge Snow obliged — and indicated more remedies could be ordered in the future. Snow ruled: “Therefore, in the absence of further facts that would give rise to reasonable suspicion or probable cause that a violation of either federal criminal law or applicable state law is occurring, the MCSO is enjoined from (1) enforcing its LEAR policy (on checking the immigration status of people detained without state charges), (2) using Hispanic ancestry or race as any factor in making law enforcement decisions pertaining to whether a person is authorized to be in the country, and (3) unconstitutionally lengthening stops,” Snow wrote in his 142-page ruling.
“The evidence introduced at trial establishes that, in the past, the MCSO has aggressively protected its right to engage in immigration and immigration–related enforcement operations even when it had no accurate legal basis for doing so,” Snow said.

Karma Trips Up Arpaio and he Breaks His Arm

The Bible says, you reap what you sow times ten. It looks like Karma is tapping Arpaio on the shoulder. I almost feel sorry for Arpayaso, but with so many green bologna and terroristic racial profiling tactics, Karma couldn't help himself!

KSAZ reports: PHOENIX (AP) - Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is resting at home after breaking his left shoulder in a fall last week.
The sheriff's office said Tuesday that Arpaio is "working hard at keeping his left arm still so it can heal properly."
Arpaio's wife Ava says he's still in pain and won't be entertaining any interview requests this week.
The 80-year-old sheriff tripped and fell on a sidewalk on his way to lunch last Thursday in downtown Phoenix.
Arpaio's staff members took him to the emergency room at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, but he didn't need surgery.
He was hospitalized overnight as a precaution and went home on Saturday.

Evil InJustice in Maricopa County Presumes GUILTY With No Chance of Justice!

There is so much Injustice in Maricopa County! Arpaio and his evil cohorts inflict Evil Pain and Suffering on Hard Working Latinos!
ONE EXAMPLE: In early February, 2013, Arpaio and his goons raided Sportex Apparel in Tempe, AZ. The goons arrested 23 workers. The workers, using “made-up” Social security numbers were wrongly charged with “Identity Theft” and jailed in Arpaio’s vermin infested jail.  

Yesterday, after 3 weeks in Arpaio’s vermin infested jails, the unfairly jailed workers were finally brought to court. The 23 jailed workers were seated in a “fishbowl for humans.” The Latino Workers were Mothers, Fathers, Sons, Daughters, Grandmothers and Grandfathers, all de-humanized in Tent City by Arpaio and his Goons. Now, in court, they all listened quietly to the charges read against them.  The multiple charges were read against them, in rapid succession. In an obnoxious twist of American jurisprudence, these men and women are PRESUMED GUILTY due to a cruel and ingenious policy created by now disgraced and disbarred former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas, and carried on by his successor, current County Attorney Bill Montgomery.
In this Maricopa Court, Justice is NOT Served as in an American Court. Instead, these Latinos are treated as GUILTY, attempting to Prove their innocence.  Even the charges are NOT Fair! In looking for work, they may have made up numbers, they did NOT steal Identities, yet they were charged this way.

In real life, the most frequent culprits of Identity Theft are Family Members or Theft Rings that Steal Your Bank Account or Credit Cards to deplete your funds. They are not these Innocent Workers who Make Up numbers so they can work for less than Minimum Wage. The most harm they could do if they perchance happen upon your number is give you more income and deductions, they DON’T Steal Your Identity.  
Worse yet, in Maricopa County, these Latino Workers  are presumed GUILTY and because they are presumed to be in the United States illegally and because they are presumed to have used fictitious Social Security Numbers, or the SSN's of the dead or the living in order to work long hours at low pay, they are over-charged by Montgomery's prosecutors, hit with counts that will make them non-bondable in Maricopa County, on par with murderers, rapists and child molesters.
The hard working Latino men and women apprehended by Arpaio and his goons for working sans authorization at Sportex CANNOT  be granted bond under the dictates of Arizona's Prop 100, and Montgomery's sadistic, anti-immigrant policies.

These Latino Women show the most effect of Arpaio’s EVIL Jails! These Latino Moms and Grandmas appear to be out of tears from their nights of crying, beaten down, away from their children and grandchildren. In Arpaio’s vermin and rat infested tent cities, rife with sexual attacks, these innocent moms and grandmas’ tears are dried on their cheeks with hearts broken by being ripped away from their families.
The workers, RIPPED AWAY from their Families, now must face the possibility of Deportation – ripped away from their children – or long stays in Arpai0’s rat infested tent city. These workers face worse punishment than the worst criminal offenders, including murderers and rapists.

Maricopa County and Arpaio continue to PROVE the WORST of the Republican Agenda. Times are Changing. We are Evolving to a Multi Cultural Society. We The People believe in fairness and WE THE PEOPLE will NOT ALLOW Arpaio to Continue his Reign of Terror!

IMMIGRATION REFORM 2013: BORDER ENFORCEMENT CAN NOT BE USED AS A MEANS TO RACIALLY PROFILE LATINOS!


“Border Enforcement” has been used by the far right as a means of controlling and racially profiling the Latino Community. A clear example of this is Arizona’s racial profiling bill “sb1070.” Sheriff Arpaio and his masked volunteer deputies have routinely racially profiled Latino communities since 2006. “sb1070” was written by Kris Kobach from F.A.I.R. – the group created by the infamous racist John Tanton.
Kobach and FAIR have written and sponsored other racial profiling bills all across the country, from North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Oklahoma and Utah.  These laws inspired by Arizona's SB 1070 invite rampant racial profiling against Latinos, Asian-Americans and others presumed to be "foreign" based on how they look or sound. They also authorize police to demand papers proving citizenship or immigration status from anyone they stop and suspect of being in the country unlawfully.

I’m going to lay this on the line so everyone understands. FAIR, Kris Kobach and the far right use
“Border Enforcement” as Code Words for the racial profiling of Latinos. These laws are the new Jim Crow laws. Anyone who supports these “sb2070” laws knows this. These laws are strongly supported by the Tea Party and the Far Right. Latinos know this.
Regardless of what else you hear about Immigration Reform, the PRIMARY REASON THAT LATINOS DON’T VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS IS WE LATINOS KNOW THAT REPUBLICANS SUPPORT THESE “BORDER ENFORCEMENT RACIAL PROFILING BILLS” AND WE REFUSE TO BE RACIALLY PROFILEDTO BE TREATED AS SECOND CLASS CITIZENS!

If Republicans hope to receive the Latino Vote, then they have to CHANGE and STOP these Racial Profiling bills. This means SO MUCH MORE than just including verbiage into these bills saying “this bill will not allow racial profiling.” The sb1070 bill says this, but it isn’t true. Sheriff Arpaio and his masked volunteer deputies CONTINUE their Suppression Sweeps through Latino neighborhoods. They continue to harass and arrest innocent Latino Citizens.
How can the committee resolve this/stop this Racial Profiling? The bill must contain verbiage for the 11M to immediately come forward and gain some type of legal status. No one is asking for immediate Citizenship for the 11M. However, allowing them to come out of the shadows and, as with the current Dream Policy, allow them to register themselves so they no longer have to live in fear will HELP Border Security.  That way, the actual border can be protected and this massive racial profiling will end. Additionally, Sheriff Arpaio and his masked volunteer squad HAVE TO BE STOPPED.  The Bill has to positively state that “Suppression Sweeps” of Latino Neighborhoods WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! Volunteer Posse’s in ski masks stalking cars driven by Latinos WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! Vermin Infested Detention Centers, Green Bologna, Pink Underwear, Parading Latinos in chains – WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! Racist Language including: “Anchor Babies,” “Illeegals,” “Mass/Self Deportations,” “Changing the 14th Amendment” WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!

It is time for Americans of Latino descent to stand up for ourselves and demand Equality. Our country should live the words of the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men/women/every ethnicity are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

Right Wing Pressures Rubio to Backtrack Away from Path to Citizenship! Pushes Blame on President

During the 2012 Presidential Campaign, our President talked about the need for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. After the election, he met with several groups to gain input for a bill. At the same time, Marco Rubio announced he would be doing the same thing.
On January 18, I wrote about their high level views and provided a comparison.
On January 28, I wrote about the Group of Eight's high level proposal for a bill.
On January 29, I wrote about the President's Immigration Reform talking points during his visit to Las Vegas.
As we all know, the President and his staff have been gathering input from several groups in order to put together their recommendations and both the President's staff and the Group of Eight's staff have been working together to provide input to the final bill.
Both the Group of Eight (and staff) and the President (and staff) were working together fine.

Then, something happened
The Editors at the National Review -- the Republican Bible -- wrote a very nasty op-ed attacking Latinos, especially those crossing the Mexican border. I wrote about it on January 31. In part they wrote: "More than half of Hispanic births are out of wedlock. Take away the Spanish surname and Latino voters look a great deal like many other Democratic constituencies. Low-income households headed by single mothers and dependent upon some form of welfare are not looking for an excuse to join forces with Paul Ryan and Pat Toomey. Given the growing size of the Hispanic vote, it would help Republicans significantly to lose it by smaller margins than they have recently. But the idea that an amnesty is going to put Latinos squarely in the GOP tent is a fantasy."
Then, after the State of the Union, Marco Rubio's Immigration Proposal CHANGED. As I reported on February 12, Rubio went BACK to his Piecemeal approach saying Immigration Reform had to START with SECURING the Border and a fast track for Legal Immigrants with advanced degrees, and the bill would NOT INCLUDE a Pathway to Legalization UNTIL a Commission comprised of Republican Governors said the Southern Border was secure.

Now, yesterday, USAToday reported that there was some sort of leak of the President's proposal. As we all know, and as I've previously reported, the Administration has been passing their high level views to many different audiences and has been working with the Group of Eight's staff to provide recommendations for the final bill. Apparently, one of the groups asked to provide feedback LEAKED the high level recommendations to USAToday.

Nothing was really different about the recommendations except for:
1. may allow some illegal immigrants to become legal permanent residents within 8 years.
2. Four year transition for employers to implement systems to verify legal status for new hires.

When USAToday asked Rubio about the so called leak, Rubio angrily responded, "It fails to follow through on previously broken promises to secure our borders, (and) creates a special pathway that puts those who broke our immigration laws at an advantage over those who chose to do things the right way and come here legally," Rubio said. "It would actually make our immigration problems worse... If proposed in Congress, it's DEAD ON ARRIVAL."
It is clear that Rubio has been listening to the Far Right, breaking his Pathway to Citizenship promise to the American people and looking for a reason to Blame the President for his Failure! Rubio's plan will NOT allow a pathway to legalization until the following occurs -- and this could take years:
. Republican Governor Commission to oversee SECURING the Mexican Border. The Commission will include Jan Brewer and Rick Perry. Before ANY path to legalization is considered, the Border Governors MUST say the Border is Secure.
Additionally, his plan insists on speeding up the Legal Immigration process for "Highly Skilled (advanced degreed) NEW Immigrants." This is another favorite of the far right.

. Develop tough, fair, effective and mandatory employment verification system.
Guest Worker Program
BILL 4: Guest Worker Program, especially for guest farm workers. Electronically track all guest/temporary Visas to make sure they don’t overstay
Pass the Dream Act: pathway to citizenship to undocumented youth seeking a higher education or military service
BILL 5: Pathway to Dream Legal Status
No Dream Act
PATHWAY TO CITIZENSHIP, may be within 8 years: PAY BACK TAXES, criminal background checks, learn English and paying a processing fee.
BILL6: PATHWAY TO Legal Status: PAY BACK TAXES, criminal background checks, learn English and paying a processing fee. Then go to the back of the line, apply for Green Card & Potential Legal Status.
. Non-Citizens and ALL those in process will NOT have access to ANY Federal Public Benefits.

National Review's RACIST ATTACK against Latinos and My Response to Them!

The Editors of the National Review wrote an Op-Ed about the proposed Immigration bills being proposed. Their editorial was AWFUL. Here's the LINK, but don't get too angry.

Here is my response to the National Review. I wonder if they have the GUTS to print it:

Dear Editors,

Your analysis in this op-ed regarding why Latinos did not vote Republican is ludicrous.
I am a Mexican American. My family has lived here over 200 years. I am a business woman. I have worked over 40 years of my life. So much for your "takers" theory.

Your editorial proves you have no clue as to why Americans of Hispanic Descent, such as me, are in support of Immigration Reform and why I voted for President Obama.

We Latino Citizens are over 55 million strong, yet people like you demagogue us.

I support CIR because I am tired of people like you, people like Sheriff Arpaio and Gov. Brewer and FAIR, NumbersUSA, Kris Kobach, John Tanton and others treat us like second class citizens.

Your vision of "Rule of Law" is to allow rogue law enforcement like Arpaio, to treat us like 2nd class citizens. You cheer him as he raids sleepy towns like Guadalupe AZ, allowing his ski masked volunteer posse to conduct "Suppression Sweeps" to Latino children in a Confirmation Mass.

Jan Brewer said, "I don't know what an Illeegal looks like." Sharon Angle told a class of Latino students, "You all look Asian to me."

When we say we oppose racial profiling bills like sb1070, your supporters say "If you were truly American, you would accept all of this racial profiling because YOU FIT THE PROFILE." Even one of your icons, Bill Bennett said this. (plus Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.)

When an undocumented Latino is involved in a DUI, you indict us all. We are ALL Guilty.

We are continually demonized by your cohorts. FAIR, Numbers USA, the Heritage Foundation, CIS, National Review, Alipac and so many other right wing groups and websites.

Yet, my community has been quiet. We are hard working. We are Christian. We are humble. When you attack us, we remain humble. We accepted your chastisement. In the past, your groups weren't so obvious about your extremism and targeting against Latinos.

However, last election, your GOP Candidates decided to take a stand. It was obvious. You decided this was a crossroads election. You knew that our country's demographics were changing. We are rapidly evolving to a multi cultural society (Roy Beck's Gumball theory).

We are at a crossroads. Will America allow this change and accept that ALL are created equal? Or will we, from your perspective, RIGHT the Course and put minorities in their place. Will we limit Immigration to solely those with advanced degrees in Science, Math and Technology.

Your candidates, Romney, Santorum, Perry, all proudly spoke of their vision, along with their beliefs on wedge issues. They laid their agenda out there for everyone to see. Mass Deportation, Rule of Racial Profiling Law, etc. etc., everything you laid out here in your Op-Ed.

And guess what? The vast majority of Americans, and especially the Vast Majority of all minority Americans of EVERY ethnicity. SAID NO. In fact they said HELL NO! We don't support your right wing extremist, NON multi cultural Agenda!

We said, "Obama isn't perfect, but we sure as HELL do NOT support Racial Profiling, MASS Deportation, your ANTI Women, ANTI Gay agenda."

Now about your editorial here. You Doubled Down.

Do you really think we are all "illegals"? All 55M voter citizens? And why do you call people "illegals" anyway?? Why do YOU say we are "disproportionately
low-income and disproportionately likely to receive some form of government
support." I would ponder to say that I have a much higher income than many of your editorial bloviaters. As Robert DeNiro said, "Are you talkin' to me?"

I'm going to lay it on the line, right here for you, so that you and your young Editorial writers understand.

1. STOP your Damn Racial Profiling laws like sb1070. You yahoos call it "Border Enforcement." We call it what it is, RACIAL PROFILING. Just Stop It! This is the PRIMARY OBJECTIVE. WE ARE ALL EQUAL DAMN IT! (And put that racial profiler Arpaio and his hooded volunteer posse in Jail!)

2. ACCEPT the fact that we in the USA are becoming a Beautiful, Multi Cultural Society!

3. Understand that these Immigration Laws are restrictionist and based on the very first Immigration Law in America - the Chinese Exclusion Act and the Immigration Act of 1924. They are New to the 20th century and have NOT been in place since Columbus.

4. STOP using your "Rule of Law" rhetoric to impose restrictionist, racial profiling laws.

5. And one more thing. One of your most irritating lines in your op-ed was: "While many are in business for themselves, they express hostile attitudes toward free enterprise in polls," Let me ask, HOW OLD ARE YOUR EDITORS? or in other words "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?" You are DEMONIZING an entire demographic. You make me shake just thinking about it!

We Latinos are like every other American in America. We work hard. We love our Families. We want to achieve the American Dream. AND, we will VOTE for whomever supports our rights as Americans!!

"La Bruja" Jan Brewer SUED for Denying LEGAL DREAMERS Drivers' LIcenses!

The Guardian reports: Alejandra Lopez, 19, is one of thousands of young Hispanic "Dreamers" who grew up in the US and have been authorised to live and work here under Barack Obama's deportation reprieve.
But Lopez, the main carer for three US citizens – her child and two younger brothers – has been forced to turn down job interviews because she has been denied a driving licence by her home state of Arizona.

She is one of five young undocumented immigrants from the state who filed a class action lawsuit on Wednesday challenging what they say is its unconstitutional and discriminatory policy of depriving them of a driving licence or other state identification.
Jan Brewer, the governor of Arizona, issued an order in August this year to deny recipients of Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program any state identification of any kind, including licences. The DACA order, which was announced in June this year, allows undocumented young immigrants who came to the US as children to live and work here for a renewable period of two years.
The lawsuit was filed in the US district court for the state of Arizona on behalf of the Arizona Dream Act Coalition, an immigrant youth-led organization, Lopez and four other individuals. (The Dream Act is the name given to legislation, delayed in Congress for years, that would grant citizenship to certain undocumented migrants. Aspirant migrants living in the US are known as Dreamers.)
Jennifer Chang Newell, staff attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union's immigrants' rights project, said: "Jan Brewer is thumbing her nose at the federal government. Federal immigration authorities have lifted the shadow of deportation from these bright and hardworking Dreamers, but Arizona insists on pursuing its own immigration policy aimed at keeping them in the dark."
She said that 87% of workers in Arizona, a state which has a poor public transportation network, drive to work.
"Rather than deny these young people the ability to drive – an everyday necessity for most people – our leaders should come together to enact long-term solutions that would allow our talented immigrant youth to achieve the American dream."
Brewer issued her order on 15 August, the day that the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) began accepting DACA applications. Brewer instructed agencies to "prevent DACA recipients from obtaining eligibility" for any "state identification including a driver's license" the lawsuit says. Arizona's motor vehicle division implemented Brewer's order on September 18.
Previous to the order, according to the lawsuit, DACA recipients would have been able to meet the requirements for a driving licence by submitting their employment authorisation documents. The legal challenge names Brewer as well as officials in the state's department for transportation.
Lopez, who has lived in the United States since she was four and is married to a US citizen, said: "It's hard to take my child to the doctor or help my two little brothers get to school and after school activities without being able to drive."
The high school graduate, who was granted federally deferred action status, including a work permit, in October, said: "Somebody offered me a job interview in Tempe (Arizona), which is about 25 miles away from where I live, but I had to turn it down because I'm not allowed to drive a car."
The lawsuit claims that Arizona's policy violates the supremacy clause of the US constitution by interfering with federal immigration law, and that it also violates the 14th amendment's equal protection clause by discriminating against certain non-citizens.
Linton Joaquin, general counsel of the National Immigration Law Center, said: "Young people like Alejandra have so much to contribute to Arizona. Unfortunately, her effort to fully participate in his community is stymied by governor Brewer's unlawful and wrong-headed executive order, which specifically targets immigrant youth who often know no other home."
An estimated 1.76 million young people in the United States are eligible for the DACA programme, including 80,000 in Arizona, according to the Migration Policy Institute, an independent, non-profit think tank in Washington DC. The USCS has deferred action to at least 53,275 individuals nationwide under the DACA programme, the lawsuit says.
Alessandra Soler, executive director of the ACLU of Arizona, said: "This is a shameless attack on our youth. When our youngest and brightest residents are prevented from getting licenses, going to school or work and pursuing their dreams, entire communities suffer."
The ACLU also said it is continuing to challenge Arizona's notorious SB 1070 immigration law. The US supreme court struck down many of the provisions of the state's SB 1070 law in June this year, but the most controversial part of the law – the clause known as the "show me your papers" provision – that instructs police to investigate the immigration status of those they suspect of being undocumented who they come across in the course of other policing matters – was upheld.

DEPORTATIONS: REPUBLICAN STATES' RACIAL PROFILING LAWS RESPONSIBLE NOT PRESIDENT OBAMA!

DEPORTATIONS! Republicans Lie to you and tell you President Obama's policies are the reason for increased Deportations. WRONG! The PRIMARY reason for the increase in Deportations is the Racial Profiling Policies in Republican States. The County with the HIGHEST RATE of Deportations in the entire Country is (wait for it) Arpaio's Maricopa County. Who wrote the racial profiling bills? Kris Kobach, Mitt Romney's Immigration expert. Mitt Romney who said he wants "Mass Voluntary Deportation" and will VETO the Dream Act on Day 1!
Here's the Statistical Analysis I did in May:As initially proposed, the Secure Communities Program should have worked. During these times of War, our Law Enforcement groups within Federal, State and Local communities should work together and they should search out and find dangerous and felonious criminals. They should utilize technology to help them to this end. The program should have been implemented flawlessly, with a focus on targeting felonious criminals. It was not. It was developed and introduced during the Bush Administration, broad-brush, with the focus of using technology for Deportation.
I’m a bit curious about the intent of the developers of the program. Were they taking into consideration the political agendas of the many local law enforcement agencies with “right wing” perspectives? Did they consider the potential for racial profiling? Did they consider the cost of the mandatory 48 hour holds and who would pay for these costs? Did they take into consideration the inaccuracies of IAFIS and the impact of misidentifying innocent (primarily Latino) citizens of wrong doing resulting in wrongful incarcerations? Did they plan for the expansion of costly private prisons?

It appears they did not effectively prioritize the program to focus on Felonious Criminals. Instead, the program has resulted in a very costly program with the end objective of Mass Deportation of all Undocumented Immigrants while Racially Profiling a high rate of innocent Latino Citizens.
In the summer of 2011, the President attempted to make corrections. He attempted to reprioritize the program to focus on Felonious Criminals. His efforts are facing extreme resistance by the Republican Party. The Republican base, particularly the Tea Party advocates, are pushing for Mass (voluntary) Deportation of the 11M here and they are using “Secure Communities” as their method of accomplishing their goals, all under the cover of protecting our country from terrorists. Their colleagues in various Hate Groups are demanding “Attrition through Enforcement.” Kris Kobach from the hate group FAIR and author of sb1070 is a surrogate for Mitt Romney. He has been a key spokesperson for stronger deportation measures. He is the author of many of the Anti Immigration Reform bills currently being advanced at the State level, in Republican governor states.
The problems with the “Secure Communities” program are primarily the fault of Republicans. Although some of the blame falls on the Obama Administration. They were too trustful in believing they could correct the abuses of the program with a statement, letter or ruling. They have been too slow in stopping the most abusive, corrupt sheriff in the History of America. Arpaio's racial profiling has continued. Congress has not moved forward in pushing Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
I am a strong supporter of our President and I do believe there are solutions to these problems. My recommendations to our President and his Administration in his 2nd term are as follows:

1. Indict Joe Arpaio. You have the evidence. Do it now, not only because he should be held responsible for all of his abuses, but his indictment will serve as a symbol to all abusers of power who blatantly racially profile. They too will be held accountable for their crimes.
2. Strengthen and Fine Tune/Streamline “Secure Communities” and change the name to “Secure America.” We all want the program to identify and deport dangerous felonious criminals. Work with local law enforcement to focus on Felonious Criminals (L1s) only. You will save Billions by streamlining the program plus you will speed up the process of deporting the Felonious criminals. Get a top 100 list – 2 decks of cards. Find them. Deport them. You would do more to protect America by chasing after the criminals and NOT the workers or the students. All of these saving will allow you to foot the bill for the holding of these felonious criminals.

3. Include America in on the conversation. Talk about Arpaio, the racial profiling, the Felonious Criminals, the costs – with no one willing to pay. You will get an argument from Republicans, but it is time to talk about it. We will help you. We will also ask the same questions to Republicans, to Romney. We will ask him “Do you support Racial Profiling?” “Do you support Arpaio’s abuses?” “Do you support Mass Deportation?”

Mr. President, we Latino Americans can help you in metamorphasizing this program to improve Security across America, significantly reduce costs and put an end to Racial Profiling. In your second term, we will not only support you but we expect you will pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform and hold racial profilers accountable for their actions.

Debate Update: ROMNEY REGURGITATES HIS WAR AGAINST LATINOS!

Romney regurgitated his war against Latinos. In last night's debate he said:
1. NO Amnesty: Instead put in place mandatory (though flawed) e-verify system. Mass "Voluntary" Deportation. Eliminate "Magnets" including Drivers Licenses.

2. Called Undocumented Workers "Illeegals."
3. Streamline (Reduce) Legal Immigration giving green cards only to those who graduate from college with "skills we need." (Northern European Countries)
4. Lied when he said "I didn't say Arizona Law was a model law." President Obama reminded him that he did say this and that Kris Kobach who wrote sb1070 - the racial profiling bill, is his chief Immigration advisor.

Texas Ted Cruz HATES Latinos. Loves sb1070, Mass Deportation, Big Wall on the Border

Texas Republicans have just elected a Texas Candidate for Senator that HATES Latinos. He is a HINO = Hispanic In Name Only. His name is Ted Cruz. Cruz wants to END the Dream Act, is in favor of Mass Deportation, a Huge Wall and Conspiracy Theories. He loves Glenn Beck, Sheriff Arpaio and is a HINO (Hispanic in Name Only).
In other words, Tea Party candidate Ted Cruz is a racist, tea-party NUT!
From Cruz's own website he says:
"We need leaders who will get serious about enforcing the border: triple the border patrol; use walls, fences, and technology; end sanctuary cities; repeal Obama’s newly ordered amnesty; and end benefits like in-state tuition for illegal aliens."
Nutcase Cruz is good friends with the INSANE Hate Monger Glenn Beck and, together with Beck, advocates an insane conspiracy theory "Agenda 21." (see video at end of this article.)
Plus, according to this article, he wants to END Healthcare, believes in Michelle Bachmann's ANTI Muslim tactics, is ANTI Gay. Plus he is very PROUD of all the executions in Texas.

A MESSAGE TO ANY REPUBLICAN THAT SUPPORTS ARPAIO'S RACIAL PROFILING TACTICS: WE LATINOS WILL REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!!

Last week, Arpaio's racial profiling trial began. The trial is showcasing documented proof of Arpaio's heinous racial profiling activities.  Witnesses are testifying to the racial profiling crimes committed by Arpaio and his ski-masked crew of volunteers. They are testifying that Arpaio's masked volunteers terrorized sleepy little Latino towns like Guadalupe. They stopped all Latino drivers during their "Suppression Sweeps." They singled out and harassed Latinos riding as passengers and left White drivers and passengers alone. They zip tied and harassed Latinos when they had proof of citizenship. They threw a pregnant citizen Latino mother against her car, belly first, brutally assaulting her. Arpaio even admitted his guilt by testifying his views that "dark skin.is the look of the Mexican illegal."

The trial evidence is clear. Arpaio and his masked volunteers are GUILTY of Racial Profiling. He admitted it himself.

The courts MUST find him GUILTY as charged. If they do not, then they are CONDONING his behavior. They are CONDONING Latinos being RACIALLY PROFILED. They are CONDONING Latinos being treated as SECOND-CLASS CITIZENS.

I've been reading some of the articles about Arpaio's Racial Profiling trial. It is clear that the right wing/Republican news sites and Republican Talk Radio are siding with Arpaio. I heard conservative talk radio host Bill Bennett say he doesn't believe it's racial profiling if Latinos "Fit the Profile." This is what most of their sites are saying. In other words, these Republicans are condoning Arpaio's tactics. They are CONDONING "Operation Wetback" all over again. They believe it is acceptable that Latino Citizens be singled out and harassed, zip tied and made to urinate in the streets or be thrown against cars when pregnant. They believe it is acceptable to be man-handled by ski-masked volunteers, hiding their identities.

I find this outrageous and unconscionable. This acceptance of the harassment of Latinos by Republican pundits and politicians is UNACCEPTABLE. WE LATINO AMERICANS WILL REMEMBER THEIR BEHAVIOR IN NOVEMBER.

Additionally, IF Arpaio is found NOT GUILTY, WE LATINOS MUST STAND UP and say: 
. WE DO NOT CONDONE RACIAL PROFILING!
. ARPAIO IS GUILTY OF RACIAL PROFILING AS ARE HIS MASKED VOLUNTEERS
. WE WILL TELL ANYONE WHO SUPPORTS ARPAIO'S TACTICS, WE WILL REMEMBER WITH OUR VOTES IN NOVEMBER!!

ARPAIO IN COURT FOR RACIAL PROFILING

Arpaio went on trial today. A civil rights trial against Arpaio rightly accused him of racial profiling Latinos in Maricopa County. The class-action suit, which started with a complaint by a retired Mexican schoolteacher who was stopped in Arizona in 2007, has grown to encompass all Latinos who were stopped without probable cause from 2007 until the present. "It's our view that the problem starts at the top," said Stan Young, an attorney for the plaintiffs, at the start of the federal trial today.


Unfortunately, Plaintiffs are not asking for damages. Instead, they are asking Arpaio to acknowledge his guilt and apologize. Additionally, they are asking his department to change in policy and STOP RACIAL PROFILING LATINOS!! Unfortunately, when Arpaio is found guilty, he will not face jail time or fines.

"The point is to reform the practices of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and get them to stop racial profiling people because they're Latino," said Omar Jadwat, a senior attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union's Immigrants Rights Project, which is representing the plaintiffs. "As Americans, we expect we're not going to be stopped because of how we look and sound, that we're not going to be arrested because of our race."


Plaintiffs that will be testifying include Manuel de Jesus Ortega Melendres. He was a  passenger in a car driven by a White Driver.Arpaio's cop informed the white driver of the vehicle that he was being stopped for speeding and let him go, WITHOUT A CITATION. Then, Arpaio's cop racially profiled Mauel who was LEGALLY visiting Arizona from Mexico and had his LEGAL VISA, Mexican identification and permit. Manuel was singled out by Arpaio's Cop, even though he was one of several passengers. He was asked to produce identification and obliged. Even though he produced the necessary papers to prove he was in the country legally, Manuel was told he had to exit the vehicle. "After exiting the vehicle, Arpaio's cop pushed Manuel against a Sheriff's Department vehicle and patted him down over his entire body in a rough manner," court documents stated.

Arpaio's cop removed everything from Manuel's pockets and kept him HANDCUFFED for 40 minutes before he was driven to the Sheriff's Office in Cave Creek and PLACED IN A HOLDING CELL FOR FOUR HOURS WITH NO EXPLANATION as to why he'd been arrested. Manuel was not given access to an attorney, phone or food, court documents stated.

Manuel was cuffed again and driven to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Phoenix, where he was once again PLACED IN A HOLDING CELL FOR ONE HOUR. An immigration official took one look at Manuel's identification, immediately recognized the COP MADE A RACIAL PROFILING MISTAKE and told Manuel he was free to go.

Now, "Manul is frightened to walk on the street or be seen in public in Maricopa County because he fears that the sheriff's officers will come and arrest him again because he is Hispanic and does not speak English," court documents stated.

The Maricopa County Attorney's Office, realizing their guilt, declined to comment on the case, citing pending litigation.

Arpaio is expected to take the stand at some point during the bench trial.
