Arpaio and Masked Goon Squad Racially Profile Latino Neighborhood Arresting 92 Latinos!
Racial Profiling is a Crime. Yet Arpaio continues to target Latino neighborhoods. He and his masked Volunteer Goon squad did it again on Thursday and Friday. They went to a Latino neighborhood in South Phoenix and these goons arrested 92 Latinos. Media Hog Arpaio said he arrested 23 "illeegals" - just because they didn't have their driver's licenses with them.Arpaio and his masked goons arrested 69 other Latinos on trumped up charges because he ABUSES HIS POWER and he and his masked volunteer goon squad wear masks -- just like the KKK does. Arpaio allows his volunteer goons to wear masks.
Here are the list of charges and what they really mean:
1. Human Smuggling: a Latino driver gave a ride to someone without their driver's license.
2. Drug Possession: the volunteer goon thought he smelled Pot.
3. DUI: the volunteer goon thought he smelled beer.
I would love to see Arpayaso conduct a "Supression Sweep" (as he terms them) in an All White Neighborhood with his volunteer goons wearing Ski Masks!
What part of Racial Profiling don't you understand Arpayaso?
Dept. of Justice: Please provide your findings on the Abuse of Power case against Arpaio and charge him with his Crimes! Please do it soon!!

Arpaio's Goon Squad Continues Suppression Sweeps in Latino Neighborhoods
Arpaio and his masked goons' latest crime-suppression sweep netted 71 arrests, including six people who the goon squad says are suspected (in other words, didn't have their papers on them)of being in the country illegally. The two-day Valleywide "suppression sweep" in Latino neighborhoods which ended at midnight Friday, was somewhat delayed by civil protesters and (God-sent) monsoon storms. The sweep was scheduled to start Thursday morning but was postponed for several hours while deputies dealt with civil protesters blocking roadways in downtown Phoenix. Dozens of civil activists protesting the state's new immigration law have been arrested this week for standing up for their righteous cause. SB 1070, partially went into effect Thursday. SB1070 makes it a misdemeanor offense for immigrants in Arizona not to carry registration paper
s, effectively allowing police to arrest a person on suspicion of being in the country illegally. But a federal judge blocked that portion of the law earlier in the week.Arpaio has said he doesn't need the law to hold his suppression sweeps in Latino neighborhoods, which capture offenders for mostly minor, civil violations. The racial profiling "suppression sweep" operation marked the 17th time Arpaio has deployed hundreds of deputies and volunteer posse members in an area of the Valley to root out undocumented workers instead of going after felonious criminals. Deputies typically take a "zero tolerance" approach to traffic offenses and then check the criminal history of the motorists.
Arpaio's masked goon squad have arrested 1,003 people in their operations dating back to March 2008. Of those, 714 were suspected (no papers on them) of being in the country illegally, according to the Sheriff's Office who did not provide actual numbers of those they arrested who were actually latino citizens vs undocumented workers.

Breaking News: Arizona Republic Releases Arpaio's "Lawful Contact" Training Video conducted by Hate Group FAIR's Kris Kobach
The Arizona Republic has released the training video that Sheriff Arpaio commissioned from Hate Group FAIR's Kris Kobach to train Arpaio's masked goons to identify "illeegals." (Note: To view video, click on link and go to video number 7).
Please watch it. Is is hilarious. Kobach provides the goons a list of 20 items. All they need is 2 or more to make the case for "Reasonable Suspicion." Basically, if you are brown (#3. Appearance) and in a Latino neighborhood (#6. Location), or you have your family in the car (#9 Vehicle overcrowded), you are eligible to be "Lawfully Stopped."
American Latinos, in Kris Kobach and Sheriff Arpaio's world, YOU ARE SCREWED!!
Reasonable suspicion:
Rely on more than one. Carefully document what it was that constitutes "reasonable suspicion."

Dirty Phoenix Cop Arrested for Shake-Downs; Gov. Brewer Said They Should be Trusted!
Phoenix Cop James Wren, 23, was arrested Thursday night on four felony charges, including conspiracy, attempted theft, attempted money laundering, and public servant participating in a criminal syndicate. Wren, father of 3, an officer for 2 years, was busted because the drug dealer he was partnering with gave Avondale police information of Wren's crimes. Police say Wren was stealing tens of thousand of dollars in money from drug couriers. Court records detailed how the dirty cop made phony traffic stops on vehicles coming from a drug transaction, swiped boxfuls of cash, released the drivers without arresting them, and split the money later with friends tied to the drug trade. Wren was booked on suspicion of conspiracy, attempted theft, attempted money laundering and aiding a criminal syndicate. Police set up an undercover operation Thursday night. Public Safety Manager Jack Harris said Wren was arrested after an attempted theft of $40,000 that he believed was drug money. Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson said Wren admitted involvement in all three cases. Wren was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail. He has resigned from the police department.
A local commenter said: SB1070-THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. The police can stop anyone they want and take whatever they want. Pearce, Kavanagh and Brewer have all said the police will do the right thing and won't violate peoples' rights --- this article shows the world what it looks like in Arizona. With SB1070 the 'easter egg hunt" in the desert state is just beginning.
Local AZ residents Angry over Arpaio's Raids Targetting Latino Women at Sizzler Restaurants This Weekend!
Arpaio and his goons swarmed down on two Sizzler restaurants in Latino neighborhoods yesterday detaining 9 female cooks and hostesses. (click on picture) Family members and restaurant customers flocked outside the restaurant, appalled by the sweep. Arpaio said the raid was the result of a fired former manager who was disgruntled and reported the restaurant for hiring "illeegals." The disgruntled employee reportedly told deputies he was offered three months severance pay in return for not going to law enforcement. The yearlong investigation included undercover surveillance which led deputies to detain nine Latino cooks and hostesses at the crowded Sizzler restaurants. Arpaio, as usual, called the media so they could video the arrests of these women. The cameras videod several protestors crowding the parking lot behind yellow crime tape. "How much money did it cost to do this? It's horrible," Dora Felix said. "Why aren't they arresting the drug pushers and people who dirty our streets," asked Suzanne Armijo. There were questions many in the angry crowd were asking.
Sizzler owners, who were not arrested, issued the following statement Saturday afternoon: Sizzler and the owner of our restaurants in Phoenix take seriously their responsibility to adhere to all federal and state labor laws. Beginning in 2008 the Sizzler Phoenix restaurants have used E-Verify as part of their efforts to ensure compliance with immigration and work laws. The owner of the restaurants was extremely surprised to learn of the arrests and allegations. He is assisting the Maricopa County Sherriff’s office with its investigation. As of this afternoon, both Sizzler restaurants are open for business as usual.

Meanwhile Arpaio and his goons laughed at the family tragedies they created.
One commenter from Phoenix named TeraWatt60 said:
I live in Phoenix and "Sheriff Joe" is a true fossil, rocklike brain and Jurassic Era thinking, he does this garbage, along with profiling sweeps throughout Maricopa County in heavily Hispanic areas as part of his shtick.
This walking oil slick lives in Fountain Hills which is an affluent area whose overly entitled residents get upset (not making this up) because the fountain in the artificial lake was stopped...oh the tragedy. Surprisingly, no sweeps have been done near his home most likely because the landscapers who maintain their grass (in 115 heat) are often undocumented and it might inconvenience them.
Arpaio only targets those who can't fight back, he is a bully with a bullhorn. He would never go after any employer of any size here in the county, but he would be happy to pick on their employees.

As DHS Officials Strip Arpaio of 287(g) authority, he Vows to Thumb his Bulbous Nose at Authorities & Continue his Racial Profiling Sweeps Anyway!
The Department of Homeland Security has made changes to the 287(g) program. DHS changed the program to focus on felonious criminals and drug cartels. The program was NEVER intended to Racially Profile Latinos and to target non-felonious criminals. The changes include requiring law enforcement officers enrolled in the 287(g) program to pledge to observe federal anti-discrimination laws, beefing up its supervision and flagging problems and complaints from the public. DHS officials said Immigration and Customs Enforcement intends to expand the program and has renewed agreements with 55 state and local law enforcement agencies. Twelve more, they said, have reached tentative agreements. As the changes have been rolled out, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement stripped Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who flagrantly abused the program racially profiling countless Latino neighborhoods, of his power to let 100 deputies make federal immigration arrests.

Yesterday, flagrantly thumbing his nose at DHS officials, Arpaio dispatched deputies on a two-day, racially profiling, "crime suppression" operation in the western Phoenix valley, stopping and racially profiling and arresting at least eight Latinos who did not have their passport and social security card on them to provide evidence they were in Arizona legally. Arpaio, whose sweeps have led to allegations of racial profiling, said he is carrying out these racially profiling operations under Arizona state laws which supposedly target smugglers and another federal law he SAYS allows him to detain illegal immigrants.
The outrageous Arpaio said while overseeing the operation in Surprise, Arizona, "Nothing has changed. We're still going to be doing what we've been doing tonight and during the last two and a half years. I don't take orders from anyone."

Glenn Beck Gets Joe Arpaio to Admit he IS Racial Profiling Latinos!
Glenn Beck's ONE Good Thing: While interviewing Joe Arpaio, skillfully got him to out himself as a RACIAL PROFILER! Beck's Motivation? My guess is, he sees that Arpaio is "going down" and as we know, Beck will do ANYTHING for ratings! Even attack his own side!
From the video: (at minute: 4:30)
"I'm just trying to understand this," Beck wonders at one point. "They say you can't enforce the federal laws. So how are you going to enforce it and still be a man of your word?"
"Because I'm going to enforce the state laws," responds Arpaio. "And there is a federal law that they don't seem to understand is there, that I will enforce also."
"Which is what?" asks Beck.
"Which is, if local law enforcement comes across some people, that have a erratic, or scared, or whatever, you know, they're worried," Joe responds, "and if they have, their speech, what they look like (Latino), if they just look like they came from another country, we can take care of that situation. But I don't need that anyway, Glenn, I can still do the job."
"Hang on," says Beck. "When was that law written? Because all I hear about is that sounds like profiling. And the government is saying you can't profile anybody."
at minute 6:30: Beck: What are they doing, wearing sombreros??

Arpaio´s Racial Profiling Crap About to Hit the Holder Fan!
Eric Holder, Obama´s choice for Attorney General will bring fresh eyes to Sheriff Arpaio´s history of Racial Profiling, including the 4 current Racial Profiling suits against him. Holder is a long time advocate of ending Racial Profiling. It looks like Arpaio´s Racial Profiling Crap is about to Hit the Holder Fan!!The Justice Department's investigation led to New Jersey state police signing a consent decree that required officers to fully document all traffic stops as part of an effort to ensure they weren't stopping motorists on the basis of race. The department's civil-rights division under Democratic President Clinton launched several investigations of local police departments accused of using racial profiling. Such investigations fell dormant under Republican President Bush's administration. With Obama, "I expect that the rules will change somewhat and you will probably see a more active role of the Justice Department investigating cases of police misconduct across the board," said Michael Smith, chairman of the criminology and criminal-justice department at the University of South Carolina.
In April, Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon wrote a letter to U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey asking that the Justice Department's civil-rights division and the FBI investigate Arpaio's immigration crackdowns. He alleged that the sweeps included "a pattern and practice of conduct that includes discriminatory harassment, improper stops, searches and arrests." Gordon sent the letter after Arpaio moved dozens of deputies into neighborhoods with large Latino populations in Phoenix and Guadalupe to conduct what the sheriff called crime-suppression patrols. The patrols ignited an outcry from Latino community leaders and immigrant advocates, who accused deputies of pulling over people who looked Latino in order to look for illegal immigrants. Four U.S. citizens and a legal immigrant have filed a lawsuit against Arpaio, accusing him and deputies of violating their civil rights in connection with the immigration crackdowns.
An Arizona Republic examination of arrest logs from eight crime sweeps showed that deputies arrested more Latinos than non-Latinos during each of the operations; that even when the patrols were held in mostly White areas deputies arrested more Latinos than non-Latinos; and that deputies arrested Latinos in greater numbers than non-Latinos following minor traffic violations.
Gordon said he believes that under the Obama administration, the Justice Department will take a harder look at the concerns raised in his letter. "The ball for civil rights has started rolling, and I'm confident that under soon-to-be Attorney General Holder, it will be rolling faster here and across the nation," Gordon said.
Hector Yturralde, president of Somos America, an immigrant-advocacy group that is one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, said he expects the Justice Department to pay more attention to complaints of racial profiling against Arpaio's department. "We do have high aspirations of this new attorney general because something has to be done. So far our cries have fallen on deaf ears," Yturralde said.
Arpaio said he is not concerned that his office could face greater scrutiny under the Obama administration.
"I don't care," Arpaio said. "I feel very comfortable with the way we do things. . . . I have confidence in my deputies, and nothing is going to change. I am going to continue my operations even though the administration is going to change." Scot Montrey, a spokesman for the Justice Department's civil-rights division, said the allegations of racial profiling against Arpaio's office were being reviewed to determine whether any action should be taken. Arpaio said he doesn't believe the Justice Department is looking any further into Gordon's letter because the complaints have no merit. "It hasn't gone anywhere because there is nothing to it," Arpaio said. Brian Withrow, a criminal-justice professor at Wichita State University, said that earlier this month he attended a national conference of the American Society of Criminology in St. Louis.
"The consensus of that group was that we will see more of a desire of this new administration to litigate these (racial profiling) cases than the current administration," Withrow said. "The president-elect has already said he intends to beef up the civil-rights division of the Department of Justice, and that is the department most likely to investigate."
