As my husband and I were driving home tonight, the full yellow moon filled the Dallas sky! It was so close, we could almost touch it. I took this picture just to show you how close, big and yellow it was. I decided to check the internet and it says it is the Wolf Moon.The Wolf Moon is a full moon that occurs in January. Its name comes from hungry wolf packs that would howl outside the villages of Native Americans. This full moon is also known as the Old Moon or the Moon After Yule.
According to Native American/Mexican American folklore, now is the time that wolves howl at the moon. Pregnant women cannot walk outside during a Wolf Moon, otherwise their children are destined to become chupacabra. Brrrrr. Makes you shiver, just to think about it. The Good News? It's only a folklore!
