Extreme Right Wing Marchers -- Continue to Stay HOME and STAY AWAY from Congresswoman Giffords Office!!!

Doctors have successfully performed a surgery on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' eye socket to remove bone fragments as the wounded congresswoman showed more signs of improvement.

There were no complications from the surgery, and Giffords is improving so much that she was able to give her husband a back rub.

Dr. Randall Friese said Mark Kelly also told doctors he saw Giffords smile. He said sometimes people see what they want to see, but that "if he says she's smiling, I buy it."

Giffords still cannot speak because of a tracheotomy done so the breathing tube could be removed from her mouth.

"Gabby Opened Her Eyes!" -- A Time to Heal as One Nation and End the Violent-Hate-Filled Political Attacks!

The mood was solemn, yet hopeful at the Memorial Service in Tucson for the victims of the Safeway attack. Tens of thousands of people packed the University of Arizona's McKale Memorial Center. The hour-long service was full of spiritual overtones. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano read from the Book of Isaiah; Attorney General Eric H. Holder read from Corinthians. President Obama commemorated the victims of the massacre as people who "represented what is best in America," calling on the country on Wednesday night to start "talking with each other in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds." He decried "politics and point scoring and pettiness that drifts away with the next news cycle," saying "only a more civil and honest public discourse can help us face up to our challenges as a nation."

Our President dwelled on the memory of each of the six victims, memorializing their lives and the heroic ways in which several of them died as they tried to save one another in the parking lot of the Tucson Safeway where Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) had gathered to meet constituents.

The highlight of the evening came when Our President announced that Gabby Giffords opened her eyes for the first time tonight, where he had stopped before he came to the service. The crowd leaped to its feet, crying and cheering with joy.

In closing, Our President paid special tribute to 9 year old Christina Taylor Green, born on Sept. 11, 2001, who had came to meet Giffords out of a sense of civic duty. "She saw all this through the eyes of a child, undimmed by the cynicism or vitriol that we adults all too often just take for granted," Obama said. "I want us to live up to her expectations. I want our democracy to be as good as she imagined it....If there are rain puddles in heaven, Christina is jumping in them today. And here on Earth, we place our hands over our hearts, and commit ourselves as Americans to forging a country that is forever worthy of her gentle, happy spirit."

I agree with our President. Now is a time to Heal. Now is the time to STOP these cross hair targets over political opponents, end the talk of taking 2nd Amendment solutions, Watering the Tree of Liberty and end Birther talk.

Now is the time that we Heal as a Nation. Honor our President. End the Violence! Stop the Hate!

Giffords email: Need to 'tone our rhetoric and partisanship down'
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords sent an email the night before she was shot at an event in Tucson calling for a more civil tone in politics. Giffords offered congratulations to Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson, a Republican, after he was named Director of Harvard University's Institute of Politics on Friday. "After you get settled, I would love to talk about what we can do to promote centrism and moderation," Giffords wrote in the email, provided to CNN by Grayson. "I am one of only 12 Dems left in a GOP district (the only woman) and think that we need to figure out how to tone our rhetoric and partisanship down."

What is amazing to me is the Hypocrisy of the Right. They are the 1st to RUSH to JUDGEMENT! Look at what they have done with the unfortunate murder of Rancher Krentz. Even though there is NO suspect, they quickly rushed to judgement and blamed EVERY undocumented immigrant and EVERY AMERICAN that supports Comprehensive Immigration Reform. They did the same with the FAKE SHOOTING of Deputy Louie Puroll! There was NO SUSPECT and Puroll has been FIRED for LYING! The FBI has said he has affiliations to certain Right Wing extremist groups who are denying the perp's affiliation. We will find out more as the case unfolds!

The FACTS are, there are offensive voices out there on the Right! They are the ones with the crosshairs and the "Take a 2nd Ammendment Solution!" or "Water the Tree of Liberty" flags being pushed by Palin, Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and the right wing talk radio zealots.

Amidst Tragedy, Four Heroes!

TUCSON, Ariz. – A 20-year-old intern to U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords said Sunday he used his hands to apply pressure to a gunshot wound to her head while holding her in his lap.

A 61-year-old Tucson woman, Patricia Maisch, who was waiting in line with her husband to get a photo with Congresswoman Giffords at the meet-and-greet on Saturday morning grabbed the magazine from the gunman, and two men tackled him. Mrs. Maisch likely saved dozens of lives. "Somebody said 'Get the magazine!' so I got the magazine, and I was able to secure that," Maisch said. "That's what needed to be done." -- "We could have had 31 more people shot," Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said. Two men tackled the suspect — they were identified as Roger Sulzgeber, who was also in line, and Joseph Zimudie, who was at a nearby Walgreens and heard the shooting. The shooter reached for a magazine as he struggled with the men, Maisch said. They were able to keep him subdued until the Sheriff's men arrived.

Meanwhile, the intern — Daniel Hernandez — who had only started working with Giffords just five days earlier, was around the corner more than 30 feet away when he heard the shooting start."When I heard someone say 'gun,' I knew there was likely a gunman and she was likely the target because of her position. So I rushed to where I knew she would be," Hernandez said Sunday.

After the suspect — identified by authorities as Jared Loughner, 22 — was subdued, Hernandez said he started checking the pulses of those hurt. Then he noticed Giffords had been shot in the head, and he rushed to help the congresswoman and her assistant. "I've known them for a few years, and I consider them personal friends. So it wasn't just the person I was working for. It was, this is my friend Gabby and this is my friend Ron. And I needed to make sure that they were OK," he said. He hugged her up against his chest and sat her upright. He tried to stop the blood loss with his hands and some frocks provided by butchers. Giffords was conscious and alert, Hernandez said. "She wasn't speaking however, she was letting me know that she understood what I was saying by grasping my hand and squeezing when I would ask her to." He went with Giffords in an ambulance to the hospital, where she is in critical condition but expected to survive. "I don't consider myself a hero," Hernandez said. "This is something that I've only done once and I hope I never have to go through again."

All four are being hailed as heroes in the shooting that killed six and gravely injured the lawmaker during an event at a Tucson grocery store.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the youngest victim of the terrible shooting that occured yesterday. Christina Taylor Green had gone with a neighbor to the “Congress on your Corner” event hosteb by Congresswoman Giffords because she loved our country and wanted to learn more about politics. Christina was recently elected to the student council at Mesa Verde Elementary School.

Then the monster began his rampage on the innocents.

After the shooting, Christina and many of the other shooting victims were rushed to the hospital, but by the time her mom arrived at the hospital, it was too late. “They tried to save her but she just couldn’t make it…I saw her right after that. I spent a lot of time with her, and I said goodbye to her,” Christina's mom said.

Christina Taylor Green, the youngest victim of Saturday’s shootings, was born on Sept. 11, 2001 - a date of bloodshed that shaped her tragically brief life, the girl’s heartbroken mother said Sunday morning. “It [9/11] was very, very special to her,” weeping mom Roxanna Green told media outlets, less than 24 hours after her 9-year-old daughter was slain by alleged shooter Jared Lee Loughner.

“She (Christina) would tell people when she was younger that, ‘I was born on a holiday,’ and then we would have to correct her.” But she would “always try to see the positive in it,” her mom added, because a holiday is “a day of hope, and everyone getting together, and finding the good, and the hope.”

Her father, John Green said, “She came in on a tragedy and she left on a tragedy.” Christina's mom grew emotional as she discussed “my angel,” who was fatally shot in the chest. “I just can’t even put it into words,” she said of her loss. “I can’t express the devastation and hurt and how we were so robbed of our beautiful, beautiful princess. … Her light shines on all of us today and forever. I’m just trying to be positive and strong, because that’s what Christina would want,” she said.

Asked what she would want to see happen to Loughner, who stands accused of cutting six lives short and injuring 13 others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, she paused for a moment and said, “I don’t really want to say on air.” But she did say she hopes that from the tragedy, change will come and people will recognize “warning signs” of a potential killer. “I just want awareness,” she said. “Sick people are out there and it has to stop right now. And I’m really sorry and devastated about my little girl and all the people that were killed and hurt in this terrible tragedy…(and that people) gain awareness so it never happens again.”

The little girl with the cherubic face was the granddaughter of former MLB pitcher and manager Dallas Green, and she played Little League herself - the only girl on an all-boys team, according to her mom - wanted to be a veterinarian, and liked to dance and sing. Roxanna Green said that her daughter was “very interested in government, she was interested in her community, how she could help her community.”

Nine year old Christina Taylor Green was very much like nine year old Brisenia Flores, another child victim of this wretched political discourse we see today!

SM.com reports: Jared Lee Loughner is a 22 year old male who lives in Tuscon, AZ. The suspects most recent address according to sources: xxxx N Soledad Ave, Tucson, AZ xxxx. The 22 year old suspect was born 9/10/1988. PICTURE OF JARED LEE LOUGHNER

In addition to shooting the Congresswoman, Loughner is said to have shot/killed a Federal Judge, a 9 year old girl, and at least 12 other people. He shot them with an "extended" 9 MM glock.

Congressman Giffords is a Democrat, she is Jewish, she is one of the youngest Congresspersons in Congress. She was against sb1070. She supported the President in supporting Comprehensive Immigration Reform with a pathway to citizenship. She was a "Blue Dog" centrist Democrat. She voted FOR the Universal Healthcare Bill.

She was targetted on Sarah Palin's "take-back America" poster and was targetted in her opponent Jesse Kelly's attack ads.

Anti-Kryptos.com reports: While there is no hard evidence at this point to suggest that the shooting was politically motivated, Matt Yglesias points out that an anti-Giffords event was held in June with the billing: "Get on Target for Victory in November. Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office. Shoot a fully automatic M16 with Jesse Kelly." (Jesse Kelly - a Tea Party supported candidate!)

Rep. Giffords was also on Sarah Palin's "target list."

As noted earlier, a gun was dropped at a Giffords event in 2009, and her office was vandalized in March.

Gawker.com reports: A gunman shot (now in critical condition) U.S. congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords during an event outside a Safeway in Tuscon Arizona this morning. At least 12 others were wounded. Following is an eyewitness report from a man who helped hold the suspect down. "The gunman was young, mid-to-late 20s, white, clean-shaven with short hair and wearing dark clothing and said nothing during the shooting or while being held down, although he struggled at first." The police have him in custody.
