11-Year-Old Latino Boy Victim Of Reported Hate Crime by Racist Teenagers

KTVU.com reports: PETALUMA, Calif. -- Two teenage boys assaulted an 11-year-old boy in a racially fueled attack near a Petaluma elementary school Friday morning (8:20am as the Latino boy was on his way to school), according to a school alert issued by Petaluma police. The boy, who is Hispanic, was on Crinella Drive near La Tercera Elementary School at about 8:20 a.m. when the two teens approached him on BMX bicycles, police said.

One struck the boy with an unknown object, bruising the left side of his face, according to police.

Before the suspects rode away, one of the boys cursed at the victim and told him to "go back to your country, you (expletive) Mexican," police said.

The suspects are of unknown race and are approximately 13 to 18 years old with brown hair. Police described the boys as about 5 feet 4 inches tall, with one slightly shorter than the other.

One of the attackers wore a red shirt and shorts, while the shorter suspect wore an orange shirt and skinny blue jeans, police said.

The Petaluma Police Department sent out a school alert after an 11-year-old student from La Tercera Elementary School reportedly was attacked by a teenager on Crinella Drive on Friday morning.

The victim, who is Hispanic, was walking on Crinella Drive at around 8:20 a.m. when two teenagers riding BMX bicycles approached him. One of the teens struck him on the side of the face with an unknown object, causing a bruise, said Officer Patrick Gerke.

After the attack, one of the suspects told the victim, “Go back to your country, you ... Mexican.”

Thanks for all these important informations.

I think that the outcry of bloggers when Luis Ramirez was killed in Shenandoah Pennsylvania ( July 2008 ) and Marcelo Lucero in Patchogue, Long Island, New York in November 2008 helped to convict the criminal perpetrators.

Thanks for your fight against all these coward scoundrels.

The most important thing now is for the police to identify the perpetrators and ensure they are punished appropriately, holding their parents accountable, as they deem necessary.

That way, this will let the community know this type of violent behavior is not acceptable and others will not do the same.

Otherwise, if no punishment is administered, other bullies will commit more and more violence.

Law Enforcement needs to nip this in the bud!

You are right. We have to put all of this type of behavior in the spotlight so these criminals know their crimes will be punished.
