FOX WON´T REPORT: Palin Lies to Latinos & Promises Amnesty While McCain Flip Flops for Stricter Enforcement!

The two-faced McCain-Palin duo are pandering to Hispanics with lies and double talk, while McCain goes back on earlier promises and panders to his Nativist base promoting stricter enforcement. This week, Palin interviewed with Univision and promised the Latino base Amnesty.
Bet we won´t see this interview on Fox News!
See Palin´s Univision Video! Top Video on the Right. Her Immigration Comments at about 6 1/2 minutes.
Univision Reports:
1. Governor, let me ask you about immigration. How many undocumented immigrants are there in Alaska?
Palin: I don't know, I don't know. That's a good question.
2. As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
Palin: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.
3. Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
Palin: No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They've got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.
4. To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.
5. And the last question would be about politics. You only have two more weeks left...YesWhat is your strategy? How are you planning to win the latino vote?
Palin: I will tell you, I wish that there were more hours in the day so that we can get out there and to more of the communities with such the strong Latino vote that is out there and really tell them that we desire to work for them. We are asking them to hire us and let us work for them.
6. Thank you so much. It would be impossible to ask you to say a few words in Spanish, right?
Palin: Oh my good-well, I don't want to embarrass myself, but … but gracias and I do thank you so much for this opportunity. I appreciate it. Thank you, muchas gracias, thank you.

My question is, why does a CIR have to be promised to Latinos to gain their votes? The issue isn't about Latino citizens but illegal aliens who have broken our immigration laws.

Anonymous said...

you are right tamara and illegal aliens can 't vote.

Dee said...

Tamara,
The issue is, Why Is PALIN going on Univision and answering the Amnesty Question: YES!

Why is she doing that when McCain is now saying No?

The point is they are LYING and Double Talking and hoping no one finds out!

Dee said...

Also, WHY is Palin going on Univision, pandering and speaking Spanish when she avoids American Press Conferences? What kind of VP candidate is that??

Anonymous said...

It is all about the votes for both parties. They will lie and pander with impunity. It is a no brainer to ask such a question. My question was and you didn't answer it is "why does CIR have to be promised to get the Latino CITIZEN vote anyway?

The article stated that Palin did not carry on a conversation in Spanish but she was promted to by the Latinos to speak in Spanish and all she could say was gracias. It wasn't her idea! You do read your own articles, don't you?

Ummm.....
Where did she say she supported amnesty?

"Palin: No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules."

What I see is a contradiction in her words. In one sentence she says no, she doesn't support amnesty and in another sentence she says she supports a path to citizenship. How can those in our country illegally gain citizenship without amnesty?

Dee said...

Anon,
Exactly. As I said in my post, double talk, then promising amnesty.

Dee said...

Tamara,
Your question should be to Palin. Why does SHE think CIR has to be promised in order to get a citizen Latino vote?
And why does she go on Univision but not on English language American TV for questions? Or news conferences?
And why does she double talk and pretend to say yes to Amnesty IF she means no?

All good questions for PALIN!

If you read the CIR bill that the Republican party blasted McCain for, It said that those here longer than 10 years would be allowed to stay here pending a hearing. That hearing would determine whether or not they would:
A) be allowed to stay in the US and/or
B) be given a shot at residency/citizenship

Those here less then 10 years would be required to go back to their country of origin and apply for a visa, residency, etc. while being in their country of origin.

I'm not putting words in her mouth, but I believe that is what she is referring to.

It sounds like the aurgument of:
"it is impossible to support the troops and not support the war".

The question about CIR does not need to be posed to Palin because she already knows that is what it will take to get the Latino vote. Latinos have already made that quite clear. Tamara posed the question of "why" to Latinos and that didn't get answered.

Dee said...

Anon,
I love Republicans because their answer is, "Because WE just KNOW!"
Like this video of a Republican "just knowing" the one other person who is anti semitic. LOL

Just proves ALL that Republicans know is made up in their own heads!

Anonymous said...

Are you denying then that is what Latino citizens want is the promise of a CIR to cast their vote for a particular candidate? Please, you have admitted that yourself in here. It is all over the internet and media also. It is common knowledge. You still sidestepped the posed question.

By the way, I am not a Republican. Why would you assume that?

Dee said...

Anon,
IF you are asking for my opinion on this, I will give it.

My opinion is ALL Latinos look at a variety of issues then select their candidate based on their informed choice. I know that I do. I know that my friends and family do. We make informed choices. Many of us are for Obama. Some are for McCain.

It is WRONG and STUPID for anyone, whether Palin or McCain or Obama or you to think anyone selects a candidate based on one issue. But I know many Republicans swear the "Just Know" the answer.

I am for CIR, but I am also for ending the War. I am also for Economic Reform. I am also for not having 4 more years of the last 8 years. I am also for not having a VP candidate who wont even have Press Conferences. I get torn on certain issues like Abortion. I would never have an abortion, but I am not going to condemn a woman for making her own choices, especially those whose lives are in danger or have been raped. These are not, like McCain air quoted, excuses for ANY woman!

My first choice and many female progressive Latino voters was Hillary Clinton. She did not make the cut, so each of us made our own decisions. I think the majority of Latinos, particularly young Latinos and women Latinos, will select Obama because of his Economic policies, Education policies-advocacy and Healthcare policies. Additionally for him saying upfront he is against this wrongful war and will identify a way for us to honorably leave Iraq, not that Bush or McCain had ANY honor in getting us there or Bush and Cheney´s support of torture or abu ghraid.

Most of my nieces and nephews are in college. Most of them support Barack Obama for his Education policies, Economic policies, Healthcare policies and ending the War in Iraq.

Many of them do not talk about CIR or study the Immigration issues like I do although most read my blog.

Interesting that your article only deals with the immigration issue, isn't it? "Palin Lies to Latinos & Promises Amnesty...." No talk about any other subject was mentioned or highlighted. Latinos may be concerned about other issues but the candidate that promises amnesty will be the clincher for them. It is their bottom line. No use denying it.

Dee said...

Anon,
Here is where you are missing it.

It is the Republicans, McCain and Palin that BELIEVE the ONLY issue Latino Citizens have is Immigration when selecting a candidate.
Then they, Palin in this article, goes to Univision and double talks and LIES against what McCain is saying to the Restrictionists all to Pander to the Latino vote.

It is NOT Latinos that say it is the ONLY factor under consideration for their voting selection.

It is NOT MY bottom line. I dont listen to a candidate lying to me to meet my needs. I look at the whole candidate. I think MOST voters are like me. They listen to what the candidate is saying, question their legitimacy, weigh it against their views, then make their selection.

Dont YOU do the same Anon?
Or do you wait for a candidate to say what you want to hear in one stump speech and forget everything else, every other consideration and vote for them? If you do, MOST voters are NOT like you!

First you ASK me how I go about selecting a candidate and then in your last sentencet you TELL me how I select a candidate. "Most voters are not like me"? How weird to presume what kind of voter I am and that most are not like me. How would you know that? Truly weird! You don't know a damned thing about me.

The TOP PRIORITY for many Latinos is a CIR/amnesty for illegals. Deny all you want but everyone knows the truth and that is why our politicians are asked about it by Latinos more than any other issue. Any politican who doesn't promise them that and pander to them won't get their vote. End of story and discussion.

Anon,
I asked Dont you do the same OR....
If....

Try to READ and interpret!
Let it sink in!

Now go back and RE READ what I said.

This will help you understand the dynamics in any debate!

NO ONE, NO ONE is a one subject voter. You cannot mean what you said. NO ONE, not even you, can be that naive or stupid to think that.

I feel sorry for you.

You believe voters are a one subject group.

How sad.

I almost feel sorry for you that you think so "Black and White."

There are grays you know.

One of my favorite nephews is a career military man.

He is voting Republican.
Why? Because he, in his own mind, believes the Republicans fund the Military better.

As much as I attempted to provide him the facts, he held to his OPINION. (as we all do)

Dee said...

One of my favorite nieces is former military. Her son is in Iraq.

She, like me, supported Hillary. Now she supports Obama. Why? Because she is concerned about the war and wants to see an end.

Dee said...

My husband is for Obama due to the economy. He had several investments that went south. He longs for the Clinton years. He voted for Obama.

Dee said...

I have one niece that refuses to vote. She is a voter and studied both candidates, but she likes neither.

Dee said...

As I said, ALL of my relatives are Latino or at least a % Latino.

All have different reasons for selecting a candidate.

ALL have studied the issues.

ALL Made their OWN CHOICES!!

That is how it should be!

God Bless America!!

I feel sorry for you that you have such a problem understanding and reading posts. What part of me stating that CIR is the TOP PRIORITY but not the only issue that Latinos are concerned about, didn't you understand? Do you always twist other's words around from what they actually said? Re-read what YOU said to me about my voting habits. You did ASK first what they were and then you ASSUMED AND TOLD me what kind of voter I am. Gotta go, got no time for whackos.

Dee said...

Anon,(Pat)
You keep leaving.
Anyway, obviously you have difficulty reading or interpreting my comments.
CIR is one issue. Yes it is an important issue.
Understand:
It is Not the only issue.
It is Not the REASON we select a candidate.

Palin could be holding the southern gate open, whistling "La Cucaracha" and her 1st dude could be offering rides on his dog sled, I STILL WOULD NOT VOTE FOR HER!! And neither would MOST informed Latino Voters, even all those that are PRO CIR!

You got it now?

Anonymous said...

For the 4th time, my name isn't Pat. Who is she anyway?

You still lack in reading skills, I see. I didn't say that Latinos are a ONE issue group. I said that CIR is a TOP PRIORITY with them. You do know what PRIORITY means, don't you? I have run across some real dummies in my life but you take the cake. Did you even graduate from high school with those lack of comprehension skills?

Sandra,
here is where you are missing it.
Anon and others are condoning the lies Palin is giving to latinos by promising amnesty as politics as usual saying, "Any politican who doesn't promise them that and pander to them won't get their vote." See. They are saying "politics as usual is OK for Palin!"

Anonymous said...

Palin hasn't promised anything, what she gave was her opinion of the situation, what she believes in. Don't confuse her opinion with that of being a promise.

Anonymous said...

There is no condonement of politicians lying by any sane citizen. It is just an acknowledgement that is what they do and always have done. They know what buttons to push to gain votes with Latinos by promising an amnesty/CIR to illegal aliens. Some dummies choose to believe them. Sad that they have to lie and promise non-enforcement of our immgration laws and rewards for those breaking them to reach a certain CITIZEN ethnic group.

Dee said...

Sandra,
Semantics.
You call them Buttons. I call them Lies! I say this is still Wrong either way!

Well continue to lie to yourself then. The fact that the name of this blog is about immigration and reading other blogs and the news on a daily basis tells me that immigration is a top priority issue to Latinos and it can make or break a vote by them for either candidate. In fact most Latinos admit it openly everywhere and in everyway by their own statements.

Dee said...

Sandra,
Here is where you are missing it.
Because a candidate spouts my viewpoint does NOT meet I will vote for them. I have to look at the entire candidate and all of their views before I make a selection. Yes Immigration is a very Important issue to be, but so is Family, Economy, Healthcare, Truth and Honesty.
I could never vote for Palin.
I could possibly vote for McCain, but his judgement in his selections hurt him (War, VP, Bush Support, etc.)
Many Latino Citizens feel the same way I do.
Immigration IS important but NOT the only issue. The entire candidate has to be measured!
