Not to cry over spilt milk, but clearly the major factor in this election was the economy. It could have happened to anyone. If the incumbent had been a lame duck democrat, the result would have been just the opposite. Like they say, it's the economy, stupid. The stars conspired against the Republican, this time.

Ulty,
McCain gave a very nice and positive concession speech requesting Unity and Support for our next President. As I always said, Sen. McCain was the best of the Rep candidates.
I applaud him for his graciousness.

I am upset that some of my fellow Arizonians were booing when McCain uttered Obama's name.

I was ashamed of my fellow Arizonians for that. I don't care what you think of your opponent, that was un-called for.

Then again, most people here are from other parts of the country so.....

While all is fine and dandy, look at the other picture, State Ballots, State Officials. Gay marriage has failed in AZ and CA. Arpaio was re-elected. The Dems in the Senate only gained 5 seats, these Dems are Conservative Dems, not Liberal Dems. Pretty much the same for the House.

The trick now for Obama is to deliver on his campaign promises and not do as Clinton did, renege on them. The war will be moved from Iraq to Afghanistan and Pakistan, troops will not be coming home. The economy is still going down, people are being laid off with projections reaching highs. There is NO money to pay for anything and all Obama will do is drive the USA in deeper debt. There would be very little if any change had McCain been elected instead of Obama. Neither party is/was fit to run the USA, and so it shall remain for at least the next 4 years.

Kudos to Obama for a well-organized, well-financed, and well-run campaign. We all wish him well. He has a lot on his plate. Let's hope he will focus on the most critical problems facing our nation rather than those political promises he made that may be of a lesser nature in the grand scheme of things.

Liquid, AZ, Ulty,
The first step is to put his cabinet in place. I believe he will select the best people. I think he will be open vs secretive. I believe he will be honest.
He will be under a great deal of scrutiny. We have suffered under the worst of circumstances. Now all the problems fall on him. I believe he will do the right thing! We will all see!!
