Explaining McCain´s Kitchen Sink Strategy

Some of my viewers have been emailing me and asking me about ACORN, Bill Ayers, Terrorist, and other dirty political tactics being used by the McCain campaign. I promised them I would write a blog to help them understand what is happening.
McCain is behind in the polls and he is desperate. He is employing "politics as usual" dirty campaign tactics often used by those that are far behind. He is throwing the "kitchen sink" at Obama. He is throwing every dirty trick possible at him hoping, beyond hope, something will stick. McCain does NOT want to talk about the Economy, a subject ALL Americans want to talk about. He does NOT want to talk about the War!
Instead, he is employing the kitchen sink, dirty tricks strategy that is often used by the Republicans. Bush used them against the Dems and against McCain in 2000. The problem McCain has is, he PROMISED NOT to use them during his campaign.
1. ACORN
Let´s first talk about ACORN.
What an empty charge.
The charge, as the Republicans state them, is that ACORN, a community organization that supports registering voters, is loading the voter roles for an increase in Obama votes. WHAT A LIE! ACORN does support registering voters, as do countless other organizations. And they are NOT affiliated to Obama. McCain was closely linked to ACORN in 2006.
Beyond that, LOOK AT THE ACORN Voter Registration Process!!!! Their workers register new voters. The citizens complete the registration form. BY LAW, ACORN is REQUIRED to submit ALL Forms! Even those that are questionable. HOWEVER, there are 3 checkpoints in place to ensure those that are NOT citizen new voters CANNOT Vote!
Hello!!! This is CLEARLY a BOGUS McCain charge. One born out of Desperation!!

2. Bill Ayers: Ayers was an anti Vietnam Era War advocate. In the 60s, he marched against the war. He was a member of an ANTI War group, Weathermen. Some in that group were charged with some bombings. Ayers, however, was NEVER charged and NEVER found guilty of anything. (What do ALL the ANTIs say about Rule of Law??) All of this happened in the 60s and 70s. Obama was 8 years old!
Then in the 90s, Ayers, a professor, was a member of a group that supported Education for children. Obama was also a member of this group supporting Education for children. So was the Mayor of Chicago, many Illinois leaders, including many Republicans. That´s it!!
Now, in 2008, McCain and Palin are attempting to make an issue out of what Ayers did in the 1960s, to which he was NOT charged, and saying, somehow, that means Obama is a terrorist. WHAT A STRETCH!! And, WHAT A LIE!! (and, from my perspective, very desperate and stupid on McCain´s part.)
Then that poor, silly old lady (probably my age) saying at a McCain rally, "Oooobammmmaaa, he is a mmmmmuuuussssssslllliiiimmmm." Even ole McCain could not acknowledge that statement with a straight face. He said, "No. Obama is a loyal American." Yet Palin, in her meetings with like minded people, continues to make those faulty connections! WRONG! Reports say that some people in her audiences are saying to "Kill Obama!" Very Scary!
3. Joe the Lying Plumber: Many news groups have said Joe is not even a Plumber. Today, the Enquirer reported, "State licensing agencies in Ohio showed no license registered under his name. Nor is he a member of the plumber's union he claimed to be enrolled in on his MySpace page. His name is listed in the telephone books as "Samuel".More amazingly, this "Joe" may be a Republican plant with deep ties to a scandalous past. Joe Wurzelbacher is the son of Robert Wurzelbacher - the son-in-law of Charles Keating - The Charles Keating of the Keating 5 scandal - for which Sen. John McCain was reprimanded by the Senate for his part in attempting to illegally influence government regulators. "
It all became this fake plumber was a Republican plant when McCain invoked his name 40 times during the last debate. The campaign initiated the word "Socialist" into the dirty politics equation. Imagine, the Republican Administration, responsible for the deregulation driven economic crisis in our country. The Republicans that just bailed out the country with a Trillion dollar grant (just as they did after the Keating-McCain Savings & Loan crisis in the Reagan era). If anyone deserves the term Socialist, it is these folks.
4. Robo-Calling: Now, news reports are indicating the McCain campaign has sunk to the lowest levels of dirty politics. It is using robo-callers to call voters with false claims that Obama is a terrorist! FALSE ACCUSATIONS! But how many of the innocent voters will believe these lies all said to be approved by McCain?
All of these tactics are "politics as usual" for the Republicans! Meanwhile McCain continues to pretend he knows Nothing About Them! Even though his VP candidate continues to reiterate the same dirty, political claims.
The end result will not change the results.
However, we will remember! And McCain´s reputation is continuing to be ruined by this outrageous, immoral behavior!
For my viewers, all I ask is that you take these antics with a grain of salt. DISREGARD THEM COMPLETELY!

On Election Day, VOTE or Obama!
Take your mom!
Take your brothers and sisters!
Have a VOTE PARTY!!
Take your nieces and nephews!
VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
I also suggest you VOTE EARLY! Because if there are any issues with your vote (like new address), you can clear them early so you can be sure YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!
God Bless America!!

Two nights ago, "Joe the Plumber" was a symbol of the American dream. By Friday morning, you would have thought he was convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Did you know he owes back taxes? Or that he's not actually a licensed plumber? And his first name's not even really Joe, but Samuel?

The "shocking" revelations spurred a litany of plumber putdowns in newspapers and liberal blogs across the country.

"Looks like there's a crack in Joe the Plumber's story," Democratic activist Bob Mulholland told the San Francisco Chronicle in a story that topped their Web site Friday morning.

"Joe the Plumber's story sprang a few leaks," The Associated Press reported.

But does it really matter?

No, Samuel "Joe" Wurzelbacher doesn't have a plumbing license, but his employer does. His back taxes total less than $1,200. Not exactly Wesley Snipes.

John McCain's campaign argues that Joe the Plumber is still as relevant today as he ever was (meaning, two days ago), and wishes the media would stop hating on him.

"The same thing happened with Governor Palin," McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds told FOX News. "She was a threat to Barack Obama, and Barack Obama's campaign and his allies in the media attacked her background, attacked her standing -- just like they're doing with an everyday average voter that asked Barack Obama a question."

Wurzelbacher was catapulted into the most instant and unexpected kind of stardom after he asked Obama some critical questions about his tax policy in Ohio over the weekend. The video, which included Obama's response -- and now a Republican rallying cry -- that he wants to "spread the wealth around," went viral. McCain took up the cause of Joe at the final presidential debate.

The two candidates invoked his name more than two-dozen times, while Joe himself watched in shock.

"We've really gotta hand it to Joe," Sarah Palin said at a rally in Ohio Friday. "Somehow he got Barack Obama to finally state his intentions in plain language."

But as is the case with many celebrities -- and Wurzelbacher cheekily said he feared becoming another Britney Spears -- his story and relevance was at first heralded, then scrutinized, then neutralized, only on a remarkably accelerated timeline.

The opposition research to Joe (it's uncertain when being a voter turned one into the opposition) seemed to begin instantly. Allegations on the Internet range from claims that he is not a registered voter to suspicions that he was a Republican plant to rumors that he's related to notorious banker Charles Keating, namesake of the Keating Five scandal that embroiled McCain in the 1980s.

And hats off to the Toledo Blade for digging up his divorce records to find he made $40,000 in 2006, nothing near the $250,000 he hoped to make by one day buying his boss' company and possibly becoming susceptible to Obama's proposed tax increases.

Daily Kos called him a "right wing loon." A blog on The Huffington Post pondered him carrying the mantle of the "Angry White Man." At least one Web site used the term "Plumbergate."

FOX News contributor Howard Wolfson, former Hillary Clinton spokesman, had at it when Joe the Plumber was broached as a topic on air Friday morning.

"He's not a plumber, his name's not Joe and he would actually get a tax cut under Barack Obama," he said. "What it says is that John McCain's campaign didn't vet Joe the Plumber."

The Ohio press later reported that Wurzelbacher does appear to be registered to vote -- as a Republican. And the Daily Kos even corrected The Huffington Post's claim that he was related to Charles Keating.

The jury's still out on whether he's a GOP spy.

Granted, Joe the Plumber didn't do himself any favors when he told CBS News' Katie Couric that Obama gave a "tap dance ... almost as good as Sammy Davis Jr."

"What he represents is not so much plumbing," Huckabee said. "What he represents is a guy who really just wants the government to leave him alone."

If the media are any example, good luck with that, Joe.

Your dissertations of Joe the Plumber needs corrected, especially when the DailyKos is correcting the Huffington Post about the Keating aspect. You are pathetic, Dee, truly a party line hack.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the table, Obama wasn't entirely forthcoming about his relationship with ACORN:

Obama: The only involvement I've had with ACORN is, I represented them alongside the U.S. Justice Department in making Illinois implement a motor voter law that helped people get registered at DMVs.

He did, but that wasn't his only involvement. He also worked closely with ACORN's Chicago office when he ran a Project Vote registration drive after law school, and Obama did some leadership training for Chicago ACORN. The Woods Fund, where Obama served as a board member, gave grants to ACORN's Chicago branch; both organizations are concerned with disadvantaged populations in that city. And during the primaries of this election, Obama's campaign paid upwards of $800,000 to the ACORN-affiliated Campaign Services Inc. for get-out-the-vote efforts (not voter registration). Those services were initially misrepresented on the campaign's Federal Election Commission reports, an error that some find suspicious and others say is par for the course. ACORN's Chicago office and CSI have not been under investigation.

For saying you are non partisan and a non voter Liquid, you sure like to quote the Right Wing Fox News!

I chose to post the NON partisan reports. Just the facts. None of these reports come from Obama. He is staying out of it! Above the frey. Not like McCain who is up to his beeehind in dirt.

You cannot deny Joe, who McCain brought up, is, in fact, the linked to the Keating 5. His Dad served time in prison. No wonder he is so angry and was allowed to be used as a stooge.

Frankly I feel sorry for him. Dirty Politics that McCain is using hurts peope on both sides.
Poor Joe, I mean Samuel.

In 2000, McCain denounced Robo calling. Of course Bush was using it against him at the time. McCain promised he would NOT sink to the level of using robocalling. Yet, here he is, in 2008, using robocalling to call Obama a terrorist. He refuses to talk about the economy and resorts to these dirty political tactics. Shame on him!!

0If the liberal media had done its job, instead of coddling Obama, there would have been no need for Palin/McCain to spend their time on these matters. The American people have a right to know and Palin/McCain do not have the resources to fully expose the nature of Obama's past associations and the crimes or treason of his friends -- the blasphemous, racist Wright, the felon Rezko, and the terrorist Ayres (he was one of a small group at the top of the weathermen who planned their criminal activities). Ayres is now busy with his so-called education programs for children, indoctrinating them in his radical views and contributing to a whole new generation of terrorists. I believe it is a fact that Ayres and his wife Dohrn hosted a fundraiser to kick off his political campaign. Tell me this isn't info voters should have before the election. How could anyone vote for someone who keeps this kind of company? Not the kind of person I want in the White House!

If you are going to give your supporters the skinny on Obama's past associations, ACORN, etc. at least have the integrity to include all the facts not just those that serve your purpose. You have heard that the FBI is investigating voter registration fraud, haven't you? You didn't mention that Ayres was in a leadership role in the weathermen and that he escaped prosecution only because of technicalities.

McCain acknowledges publicly that Obama is a loyal American, family man and is NOT a terrorist.
Yet, his dirty political tactics lead his supporters, like that pitiful older woman to say about Obama, "hhhheeeee iissss a mmmuuuusssllliiimmm!!!" And, on camera, was left with no alternative, but to tell the truth! "No mam. He is NOT a muslim. He is a loyal American and Family man." Yet, his robo calls still continue to say he is a terrorist. How low can mccain go!!

Dee said...

When you think about Acorn and the charges, the actual charge is, "they load up the voter rolls with bogus voters, like mickey mouse to vote falsely for Obama." What a bogus charge! As illustrated on my blog, there is minimal if any possibility a bogus voter could get to vote.! The charges are ludicrous!!

Dee said...

No one can refute the Fake Joes affiliation to the Keating 5!!!

Prove otherwise Liquid.

Fake Joe was a PLANT by the McCain campaign.

They are THAT desperate!

Anonymous said...

Attacking the label vs discussing the facts, typical rhetoric. The DailyKos had to set the Huffington Post straight about the Keating connection. There is still no clear indication how exactly they are related and what “close” means. Several left-wing blogs have also erroneously misidentifed a totally separate and unrelated “Joe Wurzelbacher” in Cincinnati as Joe the Plumber.

There is a highly entertaining story bubbling just below the surface of legitimate journalism connecting Joe the Plumber, the everyman, workaday, lunch-pail totin' quarter-million-dollar-a-year plumber, to Charles Keating of the Keating 5 scandal.

Apparently, JTP, better known to the Ohio Department of Taxation as Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, is, according to conservative blogger Martin Eisenstadt a "close relative" of one Robert Wurzelbacher, son-in-law of the infamous Charles Keating, of Keating 5 infamy.

Dee said...

Joe the Plumber is a GOP Plant! So obvious. He is grandson of a guy who worked for Charles Keating! My gosh! How Obvious! Shame on McCain for putting this plant in place!

I never said I was non-partisan, I have told you I am a Conservative Democrat. I have stated I am not voting for either one of these two, but your party line bias is just to much, you aren't even open enough to actually post anything that is truth. Everything you post is nothing but rhetoric and far left conspiracy.

What does it matter even if he WAS a plant? His question was a good one. If it weren't, the left wouldn't have their panties in such a wad.

Here's the thing a lot of Americans do not understand about Socialists because we don't have a lot of experience with them here. People in other countries do, though. Because there are not enough "rich" to pay for everything, they must constantly expand the definition of "rich" to eventually include many in the middle class. Eventually, Socialists always run out of other peoples' money to spend.

If I were a business owner and faced punitive taxes for being successful, I would do one of three things: 1) lay off some employees, 2) move my operations out of the country, 3) pass the costs on to the consumer.

I just never understand why liberals, if they are so confident of their policies, seem to spend so much time trying to hide it from the American people and get all twisted up when it is revealed. They should be happy that "Joe the Plumber," whether he was a plant or not, gave Obama the opportunity they need to hightlight their "spread the wealth" philosophy. Why the anger?

Anonymous said...

Well, if your campaign were going down the drain, who else could you call? Joe the Plumber is the logical choice for McCain. He is really plumbing the depths in this election season! See this cartoon .

Anonymous said...

Obama CAME to Joe's neighborhood right near his house. This wasn't a rally. Obama was out going door to door. The GOP must have pulled off some kind of miracle to make sure Obama would come to Joe's neighborhood and somehow get Joe to ask Obama a question and somehow to get Obama to answer that that he wants to "spread the wealth" and for the GOP to pay off the press to get this all broadcast on national television.

Don't be ridiculous.

Dee said...

Alie,
Your comment is silly.
The wad I posted came from the Enquirer, the same group that outed Edwards Affair which Fox immediately put on the air.
It is hilarious how you refute them now!

Dee, you make no sense at all.

My comment still stands. Obama came into this guy's neighborhood. The guy asked him a questiona about taxes. And it gave Obama the perfect soapbox upon which to reveal his "spread the wealth" philosophy.

That's what uber liberals have their panties in a twist over.

Like I said, if they are proud of their Socialist leanings, let them shout it loud and proud, you know?

You didn't respond to my point at all.

And yeah, Dee, if McCain or Obama came to MY neighborhood, I'd most likely take the opportunity to approach them and ask them questions also.

And Dee, I never even MENTIONED the source. It wasn't even part of my point.

All I was saying is that regardless of whether this guy was a "plant" or not, his question to Obama was a valid one.

The left just didn't like Obama's Socialist "spread the wealth" soundbite being revealed so clearly and that is what has them all in a uproar and going after "Joe the Plumber."

And so I say again: if this is who they are (and this IS who they are), they they should be proud of it, and grateful that the "Joe the Plumber" conversation gave Obama a great opporunity to reach more people with his message of income redistribution. They should consider "Job the Plumber" to have been an inadvertent plus for their side.

Alie,
Your (and McCains) silly socialist talk is more of his silly kitchen sink strategy. It is born out of desperation. It is textbook McCarthyism!

The reality is, McCain is AFRAID to talk about what the American people want to talk about, the Economy and ending the War.
McCain is scared xxxxless.
Now he is going back on his word and using the lowest, dirtiest form of dirty politics, including these robo-calls. In 2000 he pledged NEVER to use them, but he is.
The man is losing credibility EVERY DAY! And now, tomorrow, the honorable American Military Hero, Gen. Colin Powell, is announcing his support for Obama!

Obama 2008
God Bless America!

McCain´s dirty politics are born of desperation and fear! He has lost his honor! Sad!

I write my blog to help others like me understand they have a voice and they have a right to their opinions. I encourage all readers to start a blog and write down your opinions. Your opinions are as important as anyone elses.

I was watching MSNBC and CNN-Larry King last night. This deplorable congresswoman from MN was on, jabbering away. She had extremist opinions, but she too has a right to them in our country. She is an extremely right wing Republican. She was spouting about these terrorist-socialist accusations McCain is throwing at Obama. She was acting as if the terrorist accusations were fact. Then she starting complaining about Democrats. She was saying anyone who is a Liberal is ANTI American. She was saying the media should investigate all left leaning members of Congress as terrorists. This woman was a real screwball.
She reminded me of some of the extremist ANTIs. They carry around the American Flag as IF they were the only ones who love America and the only ones who are Patriotic. Some of the most extreme of these groups are the KKK and the David Duke crowd. They carry the American Flag, spout their racism, and accuse anyone that doesnt agree with them as traitors, just like this Congresswoman.

I for one refuse to sit still and let those with extremist opinions use Patriotism as their argument and call anyone who disagrees with them traitors.

Starting today, I am advocating all PROs and all Democrats take back the Patriotic Argument.

The PROs and Democrats in Congress are the most American loving, Military supporting Patriots in our Country. People like Obama, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi are my heroes! They have had the courage to stand up for their beliefs and for the rights of us Americans.

The Democrats fixed the economy in the nineties. They will do it again when the Dems win the election in 2008.

We CANNOT Take 4 more years of the last 8 years. Most true, loyal Americans will not abide by it!

The only logical choice,
the voice of true Change,
the return of Diplomacy
is
Barack Obama 2008

God Bless America!

Worse yet Ulty, you know as well as I do that Palin has yet to have a press converence and the two times she spoke with any newsperson but Hannity she fell flat on her face. I refuse to talk about all of the allegations against her in Alaska. I do not want to giver her airtime. She is not well educated and has difficulty speaking without a script. McCain is ill and elderly. If he doesnt survive, are you willing to risk our country by having her as President? My gosh Ulty. You cannot be serious. Your side is taking a very ugly chance risking all of our lives because you want to win the election. A few months ago you actively opposed him. Now, he has demonstrated the worst judgement in history with his VP selection and you think he should be elected? Scary! Very very scary!

BTW, to all of my viewers.
My husband was bowling with his friends last night. Most at his table were hard core Republicans. They attempted to argue all of these silly accusations against Obama. My husband held his own. However there was one area the other side clearly agreed they lost.
They held on the the Acorn, Ayers, Plumbers argument. Even the taxes and the spreading of wealth. Remember, this is Texas and those my husband was talking to were his brainwashed base.
But there was one argument they did not want to talk about. They agreed they lost. They did not have a response. They could not argue back.
Do you want to know what it was?

Do they want Palin as President.
NO.
No argument.
They tried to change the subject.
(My husband said, "I know she is a nice lady and I would not mind if she was my grandsons elementary school teacher, but come on, we know McCain, at his age, with his experience with cancer, may possibly die in office, do you really want her as President given the state of the world today? Sarah Palin is very popular in Alaska; she has a very high approval rating. I guess the people of her state would know her the best. All politics is local and all of that.

She took on her own party and the oil industry which has a lot of influence in Alaska. I'll be waiting for Obama to go up against the special interests that have influence in his party. I won't hold my breath. He's just another down-the-line uber liberal. Nothing new and different.

I don't agree with McCain on a few issues, but you can't deny that he did buck his party on some very important issues. I really can't see Obama doing that.

So you've got both Palin and McCain who have taken on their own party to do what they felt was best for their state and country. And you have Obama who...marches just about in lock step with his party ideology. Like I said, nothing new. Just know what position the uber liberals take on any given issue and that's where Obama will be. McCain you just never know. That's why the hard right doesn't really like him. But the far left just LOVES Obama. Naturally.

Dee said...

Alie,
It sounds like you get all your talking points from McCain commercials. Actually I read that her approval rating in Alaska has taken a strong decline, especially since Troopergate. Additionally I have seen much about her supposed "taking on her own party" antics.

The facts are, she refuses to have any press conferences and I understand her handlers do not let her see the news.

But I am not here to talk about her lack of capability.

The point of the discussion was, when asked, even the staunchest republican supporters said they do NOT think she is qualified to be President! ALL of them... ALL OF THEM SAID NO!

The Honorable hero Gen. Colin Powell has endorsed Barack Obama:

Powell said he was “troubled” by Republican personal attacks on Obama, especially false intimations that Obama was Muslim and Republicans’ recent focus on Obama’s alleged connections to William Ayers, the founder of the radical ’60 Weather Underground.

Stressing that Obama was a lifelong Christian, Powell denounced Republican tactics that he said were insulting not only to to Obama but also to Muslims.

“The really right answer is what if he is?” Powell said, praising the contributions of millions of Muslim citizens to American society.

“I look at these kind of approaches to the campaign, and they trouble me,” Powell said. “Over the last seven weeks, the approach of the Republican Party has become narrower and narrower.”

Dee said...

General Powell said a major part of his decision to turn his back on his own party was his conclusion that Obama was the better option to repair frayed U.S. relations with allies overseas.

Dee said...

General Powell said McCain’s choices in the last few weeks — especially his selection of Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska as his vice presidential running mate — had raised questions in his mind about McCain’s judgment.
“I don’t believe [Palin] is ready to be president of the United States,” Powell said flatly. By contrast, Obama’s running mate, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, “is ready to be president on day one.”

Dee, if you do not start debating with a little bit of intellectual honesty, I am out of here as well.

There is NO dispute that McCain has taken on his own party and the Bush administration on a number of issues. Some of them are as follows:

McCain-Feingold Act introduced in 2002. Conservatives opposed this and still cite it today as one of McCain's biggest mistakes. McCain actually received the "Profile in Courage" awared for this campaign finance reform initiative.

He went against his party in HMO reform, gun legislation, and voted against tax cuts saying that it was unwise in a time of war.

He openly opposed Rumsfeld's handling of the war when it was not popular within the Republican Party to criticize in this area. He repeatedly called for more troops and it is apparent now that he was right in that respect.

And he also opposed the Bush administration on the "torture" issue opposing waterboarding and the handling of detainees at Gitmo, introducing the McCain Detainee Amendment Act.

Now, Dee, these are just a few things off the top of my head that I can think of! There might be more--I didn't research it.

Now, where has Obama taken on his own party on any major issue? In fact, Obama mostly voted "present" on any really controversial issue, except for the "Born Alive Act" in the Illinois State legislature where he most definitely voted against it.

Dee said...

Alie,

Yes, Dee, the facts are indeed the facts and you could not dispute any of the facts I put forward.

Add the "global warming" issue to the list of issues on which McCain disagrees with the majority of his party.

And...it's not a matter of not being able to "take the heat." It is a matter to be able to debate honestly with someone who is rational.

Dee said...

Alie,
I wish you were rational and you could keep up.
To date, you have NOT put up a rational argument for McCain and you have not put forth a rational argument on Global Warming or anything else.
I realize you are young, and I have tread lightly on you since I knew you were new.
However, you should NOT expect this favorable treatment in the future.
DO NOT attempt to minimize me or my argument as you are attempting to do.
I have been at this for a very long time.
I refuse to coddle you any longer.
Your problem is, you do not LISTEN to the argument, you do not respond rationally and you do not attempt to respond to the facts. Why? Because you have no argument and you believe you have enough support to help you along.

Guess What.
I have been kind to you in the past, but I will not coddle you in the future.

Respond rationally.
Respond with an intelligent argument.
Otherwise, expect a strong argument.

God Bless America!

Alie,
You are desperate.
McCain has not taken on his party. Your little examples of McCain pushbacks are ludicrous and stupid.
McCain has voted for Bushisms 90% of the time and 100% of the time this year. He is a Bush Hugger!
Where does he oppose his party? Immigration. But wait. He is on Bush´s side regarding Immigration.

YOU HAVE BEEN DISHONEST AND REFUSE TO TALK ABOUT THE MCCAIN-KENNEDY BILL.
WHY, LITTLE ALIE, DO YOU REFUSE TO TALK ABOUT MCCAINS STANCE ON IMMIGRATION AND THE MCCAIN-KENNEDY BILL? HUH???

HOW DISHONEST OF YOU!!

Stupidity from Alie said...
There is NO dispute that McCain has taken on his own party and the Bush administration.

Dee said...

Be Brave Alie.
Talk about the The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007, or, in its full name, the Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007 (S. 1348) was a bill discussed in the 110th United States Congress that would have provided legal status and a path to legal citizenship for the approximately 12 million illegal immigrants currently residing in the United States.

MCCAIN-KENNEDY BILL!!

Dee said...

ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE TRUTH ALIE.
TALK ABOUT THE IMMIGRATION ACT OF 2007.

WHERE DID MCCAIN AND KENNEDY STAND??

Dee said...

This Comprehensive Immigration Bill was crafted in large part as a result of efforts by Senators Kennedy, McCain and Kyl, along with Senator Lindsey Graham, and input from President George W. Bush, who strongly supported the bill.

Why would I be afraid to mention McCain-Kennedy, Dee? It's yet another example of McCain going against the grassroots of his party.

You had stated that the immigration issue was the only time that McCain went against his party. I merely provided other examples. No fear here.

Anonymous said...

Ok, Dee, this is it. I haven't called you any names. I'm not going to stand for being called stupid and dishonest when I am neither, nor have I exhibited any such traits.

I told you why I didn't mention McCain-Kennedy! It was a GIVEN! We all here know about McCain-Kennedy, but it was not the ONLY TIME THAT McCain stood against his party.

I provided you with ample evidence of that. Obviously he is a Republican so he is going to vote with his party most of the time. But he HAS taken stands against it on important issues when he felt compelled to, UNLIKE BARACK OBAMA who votes 100% down the line with his party, WHEN HE ISN'T VOTING "PRESENT" TO AVOID TAKING A CONTROVERSIAL STAND.

You are really out of control hurling unwarranted insults at me like this.

And for your information, I DO have a LIFE outside of this blog! I don't sit here just waiting with baited breath for your responses so I can immediately respond to you!

I do not mind spirited debate and disagreement. But I will not tolerate being called stupid when I am anything but and have shown no evidence of being so! I will not stoop to your level and insult your intelligence. I will let your posts speak for themselves.

I am of out here.

One last article for those who are interested in reading just how McCain opposed conservatives. This article provides a fairly clear list, some of which I've already mentioned and been called stupid for.

BTW, is your idea of civility calling your posters "stupid" over and over, Dee? Once would have been enough. Well, I don't want to lower the IQ level of this forum, so I'll say goodbye.

Liquid, Ultima, Robles: thanks for your thought provoking comments. I'll miss you guys.

Attacking Alie like that Dee was uncalled for. You can attack me like that, I brush it off as I'm sure you do when I do it to you. Alie has done nothing to provoke your outrage and attacks other than oppose your view and state hers. At no point was Alie disrespectful of you. She at no point attempts to minimize you or your argument. You went to far with her, you owe her an apology.

Dee says:
"Your problem is, you do not LISTEN to the argument, you do not respond rationally and you do not attempt to respond to the facts."

Actually, Alie did listen to your argument, she pointed out and gave rational arguments with actual facts that you have yet to refute. All you have done was repeat the Liberal/Socialist talking points like a parrot.

Please provide proof of your assertions that Joe the Plumber is related to Charles Keating, otherwise you are nothing more than a gossip queen, with assumptions instead of facts which do not make you look all that intelligent.

Please show where it is a requirement for Joe the Plumber to have a License, especially when he works for someone else.

So far the only one not providing proof of anything is you!!

In fact, Alie argues a lot like Robles does, both are non-confrontational and argue with the intent to achieve communicable indifference. You and I on the other hand, that's a different story. You owe Alie an apology!!

Alie,
How silly.
If you cannot be adult enough to participate in hard debate then feel free to cut and run.
No one called you stupid. Go back and READ. I said some of the comments you made were such.
If Analisa had to deal with it, then you do too. Cut and run if you wish.

Dee said...

Liquid,
Pot-Kettle-Black.
Remember what you did to Analisa.

If Alie cant take adult debate then she is FREE to CUT and RUN!

One last thing Liquid, and I am NEVER going to say this again.

My viewers like our arguments and love the heated debates. They love when I put you down and vice versa. (you are somewhat popular!)

Both Analisa and Alie need to get into the heat of the debate and be as heated (without name calling...I did not say she was stupid because she (nor Analisa) is stupid. I said the argument was.) and in to the debate as we are. That is why we have so many viewers around the world. (at least that is what they tell me)

You did not coddle Analisa.
I will not coddle Alie.

This is a heated discussion.
Both sides have a right to their own opinions.
Both sides have a right to disagree.

Dee, the problem is that I provided you with a list of issues in which McCain went either against the Bush administration OR the grassroots of his party and you called it "stupid" and "dishonest." That is the problem. It is impossible to debate with someone who refuses to acknowledge a simple truth.

Anyone who paid attention during the primaries, especially to talk radio, would have heard the conservatives having an absolute FIT on a daily basis regarding how he opposed them on so many issues and was not a true conservative. And it WAS NOT only due to the immigration issue. A quick google will turn up hundreds of hits regarding all of the issues on which McCain opposed his party. I just provided a link to an article written by David Limbaugh who is Rush Limbaugh's brother. He is as conservative as Rush Limbaugh. He LISTS all of the issues in which McCain defied his party or the grassroots conservatives. That is why I said it was not up for debate and that was my problem with you.

Heated debate is one thing and I have no problem with it. But I refuse to have my points called "stupid and dishonest" when they are in black and white. Millions of people have heard the conservatives railing on about all of the issues on which McCain has opposed them. Everyone has heard this it seems except for you, Dee. Therefore, it is very difficult to have a debate when you will not stipulate to the obvious and instead attack my posts as "stupid and dishonest.

There was nothing "dishonest or stupid" about the examples I provided. A quick check into McCain's voting record and Senate speeches could easily turn it up. It's all there for anyone to see.

And dont' EVEN compare me with analisa. I did not come on here, guns blazing telling lies about and insulting long time, regular posters! So DON'T even go there! I merely stated a FACT about McCain's voting record and record in the Senate which you are not able to refute because it IS FACT.

Read the David Limbaugh article AGAIN. And if that isn't enough, look up McCain's voting record. And if THAT isn't enough, check out the archives in some of the conservative blogs or some of the talk shows from back in the primaries.

Alie,
There are no simple truths in political discussions. If you had been a long time reader of my blog, you would know that I wrote a blog saying I thought McCain was the best of the Republican candidates and the only one that could possibily have a chance of winning.
I know he has not always been aligned with the right wingnuts of his party. I know in 2000 he was extremely angry at Bush for the dirty trick tactics he used and promised never to use them (but he is now). I know he defended his friend John Kerry against those nasty swift boat lies. I know his entire party and the anti groups became very angry at him (and his buddy Lindsay Graham) due to the McCain Kennedy Immigration Bill. I know he pushed back his party when they wanted to continue torture or on certain aspects of the war. For all of this, you call him a Maverick.
However, you are not acknowledging he flipped on his dirty politics promise, he flipped on Immigration (a bit), he flipped on his stance on the War, and he voted with George Bush 90% of the time. Remember, the republicans right wingnuts dont like George Bush either.

All this said, I did NOT say you were Stupid. I said your argument was. Why, because you based your entire argument on my acknowledging McCain was a Maverick. I didn´t think he was based on all of the above. Then I told you about his voting record, which you did not acknowledge.

Sometimes Alie, you have to stop, take a breath, and take a look at the big picture. Step outside your own perspective and views, and figure out what the other person is saying. Then respond.

For my response to you, that is what I am doing. Stepping out of my view and explaining the big picture and saying why I said what I said.

Most people will not do this in a debate.

Take Liquid for example. Liquid is tricky. Liquid will kill you with cut and pastes and then he wants you to research everything he throws at you. He doesnt tell you that sometimes he puts in a fake fact or an extremist link.

Then, he will find a small tear in the sheet of your argument then needles you until it makes a big tear in the sheet. He has so much fun with this. You probably don´t know this because you agree with everything he says. Liquid is so unique.

ps. i did read your link when you posted it. had to put it in google since you only posted a partial link.
