In Rep. Michele Bachmann's latest anti-health care reform rant, she came up with yet another money quote we just couldn't let slip by. Because there is really no better way to fight health care reform than to share blood with others. It's a really good idea, folks. Bachmann spoke to a Denver gathering sponsored by the Independence Institute last night and sure got the crowd pumped up. She claimed the reform proposals "have the strength to destroy this country forever."
"This cannot pass," Bachmann said according to the Colorado Independent report. "What we have to do today is make a covenant, to slit our wrists, be blood brothers on this thing. This will not pass. We will do whatever it takes to make sure this doesn't pass."

Oh, I see what's she is saying.
In some cultures (including the US) there is a 'bonding' ritual where two people lightly score the skin on their wrists, then apply the two wounds together. The concept is that these two now are eternally bonded by the transfusion of blood- hence "Blood Brothers".
I was shocked when I first read the title, but now it makes sense.

UPDATE II: Within an hour of our press release, MSNBC has removed Buchanan's column, "Did Hitler Want War," from their website. Here's a response from David A. Harris, NJDC's President: "MSNBC took the responsible action and removed Pat Buchanan's column defending Adolf Hitler from their website, but no worthy news organization should employ and promote a commentator who engages in such vile fiction."
