Deep Down, Maybe there is Salvation & Redemption for some ANTIs

CNN.com reports:

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) -- For nearly seven years Melina Salazar did her best to put on a smile and tend to the every need of her most loyal and cantankerous customer. She made sure his food was as hot as he wanted, even if it meant he burned his mouth. And she smiled through his demands and curses.
The 89-year-old Walter "Buck" Swords obviously appreciated it, leaving the waitress $50,000 and a 2000 Buick when he died.
"I still can't believe it," the Luby's cafeteria employee told Harlingen television station KGBT-TV in an interview during which she described Swords as "kind of mean." Swords, a World War II veteran, died in July. But Salazar learned just a few days before Christmas that he had left her the money and car.
Maybe there is Hope and Humanity for some ANTIs yet!
Happy New Year, 2008!

I don't understand your reference to "salvation & redemption for some antis" The cranky customer is obviously not hispanic. The waitress is hispanic (doesn't say any thing about her being illegal)
Are you saying that this crabby old man was anti-illegal or anti-hispanic? Am I missing something in the original story or are you reading another version of the original article?

Does being crabby make a person anti?

Your headline leaves far to much to the imagination.

To insinuate Mr. Swords was an ANTI and that Mrs. Salazar is an "illegal immigrant" is not just conjuring your own delusion, but it has no fact or merit behind it, based on this story.

If you are insinuating the goodness of heart for the plight of the enduring and portraying it to those of us you call ANTI's, then your dreams are still delusional.

I don't get it either. What has this story to do with anti's or illegals? Besides if anyone needs salvation or redemption it is those ethnocentric pros etal that don't respect our laws and call the law abiding Americans, racists, etc.

Where does it say Buck Swords was an anti? Did you research this story like you say you always do?
I think you messed up here. Will you now admit your error?

Actually, this article was meant to stir the imagination.

Here was a grumpy old man. Think Jack Nicholson as Melvin in "As Good As It Gets!" then think of Jennifer Lopez in "Maid in Manhattan" a hard working, Hispanic, single mom.

Melvin, as mean as he can be, everyday for years. Jennifer working as hard as she can just to survive.

We don´t know legal status.

Then think, the old guy knows he is going to die soon. Something happens. The grinch or scrooge finds his heart moment. He leaves his inheritance to the only person who showed him a bit of kindness, this poor little waitress, scratching by to earn a living, but still always kind to this grumpy old man.

Maybe during the Holiday Season, we should all look inside and contemplate. What can each of us do to share the milk of Human Kindness to others, just like this old guy, regardless what ever circumstances we are currently facing. What act of kindness can each of us perform IF we were to face our maker tomorrow?

Plus I found a very good pix to match the article.

Oh, I get it dee. Anti's are mean according to you and need to show some generosity to someone to counteract their natural meanness. How about the pro's doing the same? Show some compassion for a poor CITIZEN who has lost their job to an illegal alien or being taxed out of existance paying for their social costs. See how that works, dee? It works both ways.

Kindness for the season..... How about we invade Mexico and get rid of all the Drug Lords, and set up a non-corrupt Government and business model.....

But wait, will the Mexican people want that, since they like their system so much, paying off and bribing their ways out of predicaments.

Read Airesflora's comments about Mexico and their system of corruption, she should know, she used to live there.

This would just be another waisted thought of goodness and help to the Mexican People who can't stand the American People or their way of life.

stir the imagination? who are you kidding? You used this hispanic waitress for your own purposes. You wanted this old man to sound like a anti which appears to not be true. Sit and spin dee.

pretend if the cranky man is the non-white and mrs Salazar is mrs Smith, a hard working white woman then I'm sure the ANTI's would have a BIG problem with it. It is about race, just as anti's being in denial about they not being raciest when they say comments like mexifornia or messy-kins.

A good article with a good matching picture. Time for Humanity and Peace!

anon, are you including ALL anti's in your insult of them? You are aware of course that the majority of us are NOT racists, don't you? Of course you do. Only an idiot would believe otherwise. Or someone with "an agenda"?

Anonymous said...

"pretend the customer is non white"-why dee? It is what it is. why are you posting as anon dee?

I remember when "mirrorism" use the word "yikes". dee is the only one I have ever heard use that word in this blog. That isn't really a common word used nowadays. It is an old time word. Hmmm

Dee said...

Pat,
Lots of people are using my terms. Yikes. Messykins.

I miss Mirror. He is young and I think he has college and lots of things going on in his life. Hope he comes by more often this year!

Anonymous said...

The word "yikes" is not being used all over the internet, dee. Who do you think you are fooling? So your alter ego "mirrorism" is young? Now I know you are BSing as a young person would never use and old time work like that. It is very dated. Open mouth, insert foot. lol

I knew Buck Swords prior to 2000 and prior to his getting alzheimers. He was not rude until the disease set in.
