U.S. District Judge A. Richard Caputo ruled that Derrick M. Donchak and Brandon J. Piekarsky must spend nine years in a federal prison for their role in the 2008 Shenandoah murder of Luis Ramirez. Neither perpetrator reacted to the sentence. Donchak did not address the court. Piekarsky made a brief statement apologizing to the family of Ramirez and denying he was a racist. After serving the nine years, each man must remain on supervised release for three years.Justice has been served for Luis Ramirez.
