Update: Judge denies Minuteman Arsonist Rund ROR

RimoftheWorld.net is reporting:
Judge Denies Release of Arson Suspect
By G.T. HoutsThursday, November 15, 2007
Victorville, CA – Judge Robert Law has denied the request of 48-year-old John Alfred Rund to be released on his own recognizance. The ruling means Rund, who is a suspected arsonist, will remain in custody at the West Valley Detention Center (WVDC) in Rancho Cucamonga until his next scheduled court appearance on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. in Department V-8. Rund's attorney Steve Meister made the motion for the own recognizance release on Thursday, November 8. Court minutes report Judge Law told those present at the bail hearing he had read and considered the request and that it was denied. Bail remains at $750,000.

On October 23, 2007, Rund was apprehended at a residence in Hesperia after eyewitnesses told authorities they had allegedly seen him start a brush fire in the area off Highway 173 and Arrowhead Lake Road. The citizens put out the fire before firefighters could arrive at the location. CHP helicopters followed the suspect on his motorcycle to the Hesperia address and directed Sheriff's deputies to the residence. Initially, Rund was charged with one count of Penal Code 451(c) arson of forest land; one count of Penal Code 454 arson during a state of emergency; and, one count of Penal Code 453(a) possession of flammable material or an incendiary device. However, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff's Station Major Enforcement Team served a search warrant at Rund's address on Wednesday, October 31. Live ammunition, a high capacity ammunition magazine, one rifle, one pistol, and a quantity of suspected methamphetamine was discovered during the search.

The list of charges against Rund—outlined in a Sheriff's Department news release—was amended to include possession of a controlled substance, being a felon in the possession of firearms, possession of a high capacity ammunition magazine, and a felon in possession of ammunition. At the time of Rund's arrest, District Attorney Michael Ramos issued the following statement: "Because of the recent fires in our local mountains, we are all aware of the inherent danger and risk to lives and property due to uncontrolled fires. We will not tolerate anyone putting all of us at risk by reckless and unlawful behavior. We intend to prosecute every instance of arson to the fullest extent of the law."

What a deceitful woman you are, dee. Neither in the new's headline nor in the new's article does it state that Rund was or is a MM.

You created your "own" headline and inserted MM into it. You have no shame, do you? You are disgusting!

Where in heck in the ORIGIONAL Document does it says this Wack Job dope head is a Minuteman?

You need to redo this heading or your readers are going to be in an uproar over your slant on freedom of the press!

Shame on you !

Pat, Pat, Pat,
You know the original post referenced the link to an article stating this.

Go back and read them. Many sites said the same. Go back and look in my logs.

The only thing lacking at this point is corroboration from the FBI.

I hear there are members willing to speak out but they are holding back. My guess, in fear.

All we can do is wait for the reports to come out. He is coming before the judge again in December.

Dee, this kind of thing hurts your credibility. It is not fair to accuse the Minutemen (via this guy) of anything. I remember your references and they were totally not believable (Craig's list for Pete's sake?).

It's not right, Dee, and furthermore, it drives people straight away from any hope of a compromise on the illegal immigration issue.

I'm pretty open to discussion, but I won't tolerate this. The guy is a creep, but there's no evidence he's a minuteman. If there was any, it would have been in the news by now.

"Travelingal" is me, Dianne. I sometimes use that name.

I have a number of people writing to me validating this is factual.

However, I will tell you what Dianne. Rund is coming up before the judge in December. If the confirmation does not come by then, I will take this down.

Factual???? Everywhere you commented on it at other blogs, they have asked you to prove it, or have called you on it. The only person giving you any accolades on it is Tony, and we know according to you and his blog, that he is a JOKE.

Nothing anywhere, at any news site, or in any news story, have they linked or stated that Rund is a MM or member of any group.

Come Dec. after his trial date, if nothing comes out by then, you state you will drop this non-sense, will there be an apology issued by you?? A complete redaction of the stories and accusations?? and will you promise that in the future, you don't make assumptions of any further headlines or news stories??

What say you??

liquid, if I were in the MM organization or if Rund is proven not to be a MM, I would sue her for slander.

Meanwhile, gangs of illegal Mexicans such as MS-13 have declareed "Mexican only" districts in California and have been murdering any black or white American who won't get out. The judges and Mexian advocates all look the other way.

It's time to call out the army to recapture our own country.

Fair enough, Dee, except for the time you posted it when it may not be true. However, it's your blog and it's up to you to maintain its credibility.

Bob writes: "Meanwhile, gangs of illegal Mexicans such as MS-13 have declareed "Mexican only" districts in California and have been murdering any black or white American who won't get out."

Bob, do you have a citation on that? You can find hundreds (nay thousands) of citations from respectable newspapers documenting violence and attempted ethnic cleansing between hispanics and blacks, but I haven't heard of anything comparable between hispanics and whites. Also, your line "gangs of illegal mexicans" seems unwarranted. Looking at crime statistics, first generation immigrants (legal or illegal) commit a lot less crime than their descendents. Most likely, a lot more of the violence between hispanics and blacks is committed by people born here than by first generation immigrants (legal or illegal).

"Most likely, a lot more of the violence between hispanics and blacks is committed by people born here than by first generation immigrants (legal or illegal)."

Rubbish! Millions of criminals from Cuba, Mexico, and other countries are committing a huge percentage of crimes in the US. MS-13, for example, is very violent and very dangerous, but even they are only a small part of the ongoing crime invasion.

Bob, you should see this study By Ruben G. Rumbaut and Roberto G. Gonzales et. al. at the University of California, Irvine: "Debunking the Myth of Immigrant Criminality: Imprisonment Among First- and Second-Generation Young Men"
http://www.migrationinformation.org/Feature/display.cfm?id=403

excerpt: "Length of Time in the United States and Incarceration Rates

The data examined thus far suggest that the process of "Americanization" leads to downward mobility and greater risks of involvement with the criminal justice system among a small but significant segment of this population. Therefore, the question of what happens to immigrant men over time in the United States was explored.

For every group without exception, the longer immigrants had resided in the United States, the higher were their incarceration rates (see Table 3)."

Also see this excerpt:

"Second Generation

Incarceration rates increase significantly for all US-born coethnics without exception. That is most notable for Mexicans, whose incarceration rate increases more than eightfold to 5.9 percent among the US born; for Vietnamese (from 0.46 to 5.6 percent among the US born); and for the Laotians and Cambodians (from 0.92 percent to 7.26 percent, the highest of any group except for native blacks). Almost all of the US born among those of Latin American and Asian origin can be assumed to consist of second-generation persons, with the exception of Mexicans and Puerto Ricans, whose numbers may include a sizable number (around 25 percent) of third-generation individuals. (Since 1980, when the questions on parents' country of birth were dropped, the decennial census has not permitted the precise identification of second vs. third or higher generations.)

Thus, while incarceration rates are found to be extraordinarily low among immigrants, they are also seen to rise rapidly by the second generation. Except for the Chinese and Filipinos, the rates of all US-born Latin American and Asian groups exceed that of the referent group of non-Hispanic white natives."

So Bill, according to this study, it is not the 1st generation immigrants (legal or illegal) that commit the most crimes, but their descendants.
