Republican Congressman Pushing Legislation to Force Children to Live Without Citizenship!

Republican Congressman Gary Miller of California is pushing legislation, HR 994 appropriately named "The LEAVE Act", that would change Jus Soli - our 14th Amendment's Birthright Citizenship clause. Like numerous countries around the world and most countries in our Western Hemisphere, the U.S. utilizes Jus Soli -birthright citizenship as our means to define citizenship. Some countries, including Germany and France, utilize Jus Sanguinis - based on blood or race.

Congressman Miller wants to change the Constitution to define citizenship as Jus Sanguinis (based on blood). The details of his recommended changes are: At least one parent has to be a citizen of the US, or a permanent resident whose residence is in the US, or an alien performing active service in the Armed Forces. The change would primarily impact the children of visitors, illegal immigrants - particularly single mothers, and children of citizens whose primary residence is not in the US. Miller adds an odd clause at the end of this section. It says: The amendment made by subsection shall not be construed to affect the citizenship or nationality status of any person born before the date of the enactment of this Act. This is odd because it is set apart from the rest of the amendment which means this section could be easily amended (as most bills are before final signature) to exclude this clause or change the date (retroactive) of this clause.

Jus Sanguinis been highly criticized by some on the grounds that, if it is the only means, and were a group of immigrants to intra-marry, it could lead to generations of people living their whole lives in the state without being citizens of it likening their status to an homo sacer, deprived of any civil rights.

Readers: HR994, the LEAVE Act is much more robust than just this birthright citizenship clause. It is all encompassing and worse than sb1070. The good news is, it is so obtuse, it will probably never see the light of day. I have not read it completely yet but it criminalizes home/property ownership, friends and family, encourages citizens to sue Dream Students, or anyone; increases detention time; encourages the building of more private prison detention centers; the end of sanctuary cities; centralized private prisons in each state; reimbursement by homeland security to each state; this is a gold mine for the private prison industry. It also talks about the the establishment of a "Training Manual and Pocket Guide" and establising a political subdivision (an entire slew of contractors for this subdivision) to train all law enforcement. Sounds like another crony contract costing billions. This is all paid back to states by the dept. of homeland security. It seems like that was the training guide used by Kris Kobach of the Hate Group FAIR when he trained Arpaio's goons. Please go to this section of the bill and read this yourselves.

Video, Lyrics and Political Analysis of 1934 Broadway Musical "Anything Goes", Cole Porter 1891 - 1964, super rich pampered child, laughing and despising Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt - Today's Republicans are "Anything Goes"

I love "Anything Goes" and I confess to be obsessed by that musical. Probably I am a sexual pervert looking at the Sailor Girls tap dancing.

The story concerns madcap antics aboard an ocean liner bound from New York to London. Billy Crocker is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin aid Billy in his quest to win Hope. The musical introduced such songs as "Anything Goes," "You're the Top," and "I Get a Kick Out of You."

In the title tune to the 1934 musical “Anything Goes,” Cole Porter says “times have changed,” since the stock market crashed in 1929, but the super rich, like John D. Rockefeller Jr., “still can hoard enough money to let Max Gordon produce his shows.”

The lyrics also tease FDR because Eleanor advertised a mattress from a venerable company: “Missus R., with all her trimmin’s, can broadcast a bed from Simmons, ‘cause Franklin knows, Anything Goes.”

The disrespect for President Franklin Roosevelt and Mrs Eleanor Roosevelt is contained at the end of the song.

It seems to me that Republicans nowadays are living again in "Anything Goes" Times. The Party of NO NO NO and getting voters with Hate and Fear against Latinos, Blacks and Minorities. At least I am a sexual pervert - They are worse than me !

Excerpt from Lyrics :

Times have changed,
And we've ofter rewound the clock
Since the Puritans got a shock
When they landed on Plymouth Rock
If today any shock they might try to stem
'Stead of landing of Plymouth Rock
Plymouth Rock would land on them.
In olden days a glimpse of stocking
Was looked on as something shocking
But now God knows
Anything Goes

And those blues you've got
>From those news you've got
And those pains you've got
(If any brains you've got)
>From those little radios
So Mrs. R.
With all her trimmin's
Can broacast a bed from Simmon's
Cause Franklin knows
Anything Goes

I honestly don't know what this means. If they are really legal immigrants or are permanent residents, their children would have not problem. If one of the parents is a citizen or legal resident, the child would still be granted citizenship. It is only in the case where both parents are illegal aliens that the child is properly accorded the citizenship of the parents rather than that of the host country. This is exactly the way it should be. Every loyal American should give his or her wholehearted support to this bill.

It is not clear how this bill deals with the constitutional question but this provision is long overdue. It should have been part of the 1986 amnesty bill. Reagan should have insisted on that as a condition of his signature on the amnesty bill. That would have been an excellent trade off.

SchadenFreude : Arizona Implodes in a big Implosion like a Neutron Star - This is the opposite of a Super Nova - Even the Republican National Committee despises Arizona - Prayers of Jan Brewer

The Devil in Hell is preparing the "Olive Oil" to fry me for my SchadenFreude ( Joy of seeing others between a rock and a hard place )

I do not accept to be fried in cheap Palm Oil, or second hand oil already used to fry pastry and "empanadas", that oil has a horrible stench.

Arizona is becoming a neutron star or a black hole.

A Super Nova is a beautiful display in the Nocturnal Sky - A black hole only eats the money of the taxpayers.

This lady Governor Jan Brewer ( of Arizona ) prays to God : "Please God, make my laws unconstitutional so I can escape of this horrible situation".

Chicago has just whipped Arizona like a brat or urchin boy.

I am waiting for the shoes of New York City, Dallas and Miami to fall on the roof of Arizona, so that they can wake up to reality.

Please Bill Maher, Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, Rick Horowitz, Jon Stewart and others stop laughing at Arizona Republicans.

Give the Lady Governor a break while God studies the situation.

You can also be fried by Satan in the best Olive Oil and the Best Wines of CALIFORNIA !

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ! ( one million times )
